Héctor García-Jorquera

I´m an actor, director and dramaturgy, poet, performer. I´ve studied theater at the Drama School DRAN, in Chile. In 1996 with some colleagues, we founded the Cultural Center Playa Ancha in Valparaiso, an independent place for the art. A few years later I take a degree in Cultural Management program at the (UC) Catholic University of Santiago in Chile and began my work in an international field. I had worked exclusively in the “public places” since 1997. Performances, happenings, carnivals, poetry. In Stockholm, Sweden I´ve studied photography, video and worked within my idea/theory on performance art. In the year 2007, I created Föreningen Oneironaut, a Cultural Organization, for working with artistic and environmental issues between Sweden and South America. 2009 was the year for my main project: to create a platform for experimental performative arts. “Authenticity and the Public Space”.
