SYNESTHESIA Baltimore Light City Festival 2018 Services provided Temporary Art Instalation Design & Fabrication
Named after the phenomenon in which simulation of one sensory pathway elicits another sensory experience, Synesthesia is an abstract representation of how music travels through space. It uses sounds and colors to connect with participants, allowing them to simultaneously generate involuntary emotions and reactions. This installation celebrates the manifestation of sensory feelings and aspires to create an ambiance of diverse perceptions. Synesthesia was selected as one of the 25 finalists for the 2018 Baltimore Light City Festival held at the Inner Harbor/downtown Baltimore over the 8-day festival, April 1421. Synesthesia installation was located in front of the popular Hard Rock Cafe. 442,500 visitors were able to experience Synesthesia, take selfies, dance and enjoy involuntary emotions produced by the effects of the installation. After Synesthesiaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s success at the Baltimore Light City Festival, The Clarice Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland requested to have Synesthesia for their annual NextNOW Festival, September 7-8.

INOUT was an interactive, public art installation designed by Epigram and surcreativeâ&#x20AC;&#x201D;including the digital, environmental and print graphics to engage the Seven Corners, Virginia community with a larger-than-life, public photo booth experience! The outdoor art exhibition illuminated the night with community portraits projected on an eight-foot cube that was powered by solar panels. The innovative design not only energized the community visually, but attracted residents and visitors to interact with the exhibit both in person and online via social media, where the exhibit was connected to a hashtag to submit new photos and content. This exhibit was a Public Art Engagement Project of ArtsFairfax, designed by Epigram and surcreative, and made possible with the support of the Fairfax County Government, corporate sponsors and community partners.
