MAKING SPACE INTO HOME

About
What would it look like if NASA released a line of home appliances? This project answers that exact question. At the beginning of the era known as the Space Race, the United States Congress passed legislation formally creating NASA. Since then NASA has been the melting pot of the nation’s elite scientists, engineers, mathematicians and technologists, earning the population’s respect and admiration. I wanted to translate this into appliances that the private individual could have use for and enjoy.
Approach
My strateg y to make these items desirable was to incorporate storytelling into my designs. Each product is inspired by and modeled after a tool that actually appeared on a specific space flight . Therefore, on the back of each packaging , there is an

illustration with associated copy telling the target about each spacecraft the product originated from. Metallic silver material enclosures the packaging under its paper sleeve. This is derived from the metallic material that was used to protect the NASA Graphics Standards Manual from 1975.

About
I’m a creature of visual interests. I have long contemplated why mathematics has a tendency to look dull visually. Of course, that is because math prioritizes function over form. What would it look like if math put form over function? I wanted to explore the possibility of making mathematics aesthetically intriguing. be. I wanted it to feel dynamic and exciting. The JMM incorporates a number of different sections and committees, and I needed a system that could house all of them. Using a simple graph paper, I created a grid from which I derived marks and patterns that

About
The task for this project was to reinvent the user experience when painting your house. I wanted to eliminate the old aluminum cylinders that make paint go everywhere when opening the lid. Instead, the idea was to create a packaging that you would like to show off, rather than hide away in the garage or garden shed.
Approach
Block is a pressured latex powder mix paint . For the sake of a better user experience, the powder has been molded into accessible blocks . Just slide out the lid and drop the desired amount of blocks into water to create wet paint . Block gets inspiration from Scandinavian architecture, especially so from Swedish functionalism, using only necessary minimalistic shapes throughout the system. In this fashion, the label was designed

Does nuclear power have a tendency to go “Boom!” or is it actually a solution to climate change? One in three Americans lives within a 50-mile radius of a nuclear reactor. Yet , the average citizen has a lack of knowledge of the risks and opportunities associated with nuclear power. Public opinion has been swayed by current news coverage and media. “The Young Ones” is a competition hosted by The One Club for Creativity. It has a tradition of excellence dating back to 1986 and is one of the most acclaimed advertising , interactive and design student competitions. In this “Post-Truth Era,” traditional newspapers such as The New York Times have noticed decreasing news literacy among the public. The New York Times came to “The Young Ones” with their brief to receive ideas for a campaign responding to this social issue.
Approach
Our research showed that the decrease in news literacy stems from a lack of critical thinking when consuming news and information. This insight made us realize that we need to change people’s thought processes. By repurposing the iconic “New

York Times-News Boxes” we challenge our audience to think critically. The boxes would be placed all around major cities and then would challenge people from different areas, awakening interest and making it engaging yet informative. The solution was awarded a silver pencil at the “The Young Ones, The One Show 2019,” as well as a Gold at “Creativity International 2019”, and was published in “Ads of the World.”

The aim is to create a boutique brand of beer with a hint of dark humor. Inferno Brewery redefines conceptions of what beer is (and should be). It is meant to push the boundaries of established styles and create its own personality in the process. This beer is spicy throughout the palette, and it dares you to try it. It’s made for tough souls who can delight in the journey through nine levels

Inferno is a chili-infused beer that creates a burning sensation

when enjoyed. Its diabolic personality and old-world features are inspired by the medieval tale of Dante’s Inferno. In this classic story, Dante travels through the nine levels of hell. These different levels are featured on the side of the bottle, creating an inter-

active experience (and conversation piece) for the consumer. The bottle carrier handle is made out of a serpent , which in the tale, is the symbol of evil power and chaos from the underworld. In the ninth—and last—level of hell, all residents are frozen deep in an icy lake, including Lucifer himself. This gave inspiration to the icy color palette and sets it apart on the shelf from competitors , reinforcing the idea of devilishly cold beer.

Anti-Arena Art Club is meant to be a place to hang out for people interested in contemporary art . A place where you can immerse yourself among work by modern artists as well as discuss art with like-minded people. You would be able to look through lists of current and upcoming art exhibits. About
The aim of this project was to create packaging for spotlights that would stand out on the shelf. While doing research, I noticed that every other lightbulb packaging is made out of box shapes and provides little to no contrast to other brands. I wanted to create something that was different, yet easy to use.
Approach
Euri Electrics provides a new experience, different from any other competing light bulb packaging . The identity uses bold colors and typography in a highly gridded environment . The logotype, as well as the pattern, is based on electric circuit symbols. There is an opportunity to explore using the packaging for more than just its initial purpose. For example, it can be used for collecting already used light bulbs. The tube structure
