City and Castle Sightseeing Tour

The University in the Old Town

A clear view of Heidelberg as a stage – the first act: a view of the romantic Castle that towers majestically above Karlsplatz (Carl’s Square). This is followed by a leisurely guided city sightseeing tour along the Neckar, with a photo stop at the Alte Brücke (Old Bridge). The second act takes you up to Heidelberg Castle – during an outdoor tour, your guide will recount the history of the fascinating structure, you will visit the inner courtyard and the world-famous wine barrel. Following the tour, you can visit the Deutsche ApothekenMuseum (German Pharmacy Museum) before enjoying the trip back to the Old Town (station Kornmarkt) using your Castle ticket.

The oldest University in Germany, the Ruperto Carola was founded in 1386 by Rupert I, Elector Palatine. The walking tour takes you to the University Library, which houses the world-famous Medieval song collection “Codex Manesse”, and across the road to the Peterskirche (St. Peter’s Church), the oldest church in the Old Town. The Alte Aula (Old Auditorium) and the Karzer, the historic Students’ Prison, are two of the stops along the way. Between 1778 and 1914, students were punished for trivial offenses in the Karzer. The tour offers you a chance to get to know the history of the university and its student life.

Christmas Market Walking Tour

Cabriobus Sightseeing Tour

The scent of roasted almonds wafts through the alleys of the Old Town and handicrafts and winter delicacies are peddled in enchanting little wooden stalls. The Heidelberg Christmas Market, with its 140 individual stalls, is one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany. Tucked away in the Old Town, overlooked by the world-famous Castle, the Christmas Market stretches across six historic squares. Great stories of the regions’ Christmas and preChristmas traditions form the central theme of this festive tour. The walk starts at the Marktplatz, continues through some of the most beautiful corners of the Old Town on the way to Universitätsplatz (University Square).

The open roof of the Cabrioletbus allows you to see the city from a completely different perspective! And even if it rains, you’re sure to have a clear view of your beautiful surroundings through the glass sliding roof. The audio guide gives you information about the city, as well as tips about things to do. The tour starts and finishes at the Karlsplatz (Carl’s Square), and from here it takes you to some of the highlights of the Old Town and on to the Weststadt with its Art nouveau houses, to the splendid villas in Neuenheim. “Delectable Heidelberg” Tour

Segway Tour: “Philosophical“

Prepare to be surprised, as you become acquainted with the tastes of Heidelberg: While you stroll through the picturesque Old Town, an aperitif made from the sun-ripened fruit in Baden and a regional three-course meal await you in two traditional Heidelberg restaurants. Time and travel between the various courses will be spiced with entertaining stories and anecdotes, “magic elixirs”, and topped off with a sweet Heidelberg treat served against a uniquely romantic backdrop.

A Segway tour through the city provides entirely new perspectives. A guide will accompany you on the route along the Neckar river to the historic Neuenheim district. From here, you will continue in the direction of the zoo and through the Neuenheimer Feld campus with its impressive University and hospital buildings. The highlight is the journey to the Philosophenweg (Philosophers’ Walk). At one time, scholars strolled here in stiff frock coats to clear their minds with a walk. Today, the trail draws people in with breath-taking views over the town, the river, the Old Bridge, the Castle and the almost 600 m high Königstuhl.

Price € 85 per person, no discount inclusive aperitif, starter, main course, dessert, two “surprises“ and guided tour. Drinks are not included and are to be paid for separately in the locations.
