08 PERSONAL PROJECT NOV - DEC 2016
SPONTANEOUS: NEON BILLBOARDS HONG KONG An investigation into the disappearing neon billboards that used to light the city like parasites, definining the streetscape. With years of weathering, the signboards have become a memoir to the energy of the once thriving local buisinesses, but also a public safety concern of the city as the steel structure that once held them rusts and the neon lights cease to glow. This project proposes a replacement to the signboards, to be erected on the fins of skyscrapers.

BUILDING A HOME EL OJOCHAL, HONDURAS
Together with 9 other students, we fundraised and built a house for a family in El Ojochal Community of Honduras with Global Brigades over 8 days. Overcoming language barriers and the heat of the Honduran sun, we learnt from the local builders to mix cement and lay bricks, replacing a family’s wooden shack with a solid brick house. Beyond being a shelter, it was a place of collective memories and one which will hold many more to come - a house that became a home.
