The first issue to address in the living room was the fireplace. The relationship between the existing fireplace and entertainment unit was disjointed and non proportional. Our solution was to unite the two elements through the use of profit stone. We used it running vertically and horizontally. This not only created a strong focal point in the room, but also brought in visual elements used on the exterior of the house. We repainted in a light, warm grey and chose more modern, stylish furnishings.

In the dining room, we pulled in the same stone as seen in the living room to finish out the alcove, which houses a contemporary console and a ceramic sculpture. The table was inspired by the work of George Nakashima. The walnut slab used on this table was sourced locally, and its raw edge adds an organic feel and speaks to the region where the house resides.

igi Park is a San Francisco based company that offers both home staging and interior design services. San Francisco is a beautiful city filled with an interesting variety of architecture. It was equally a pleasure and a challenge to be moving through so many properties, ranging from one bedroom apartments to large, 4-level homes, always using the architecture and boroughs as
inspiration for the design. As the sole design assistant in the company, I was able to take part in all stages of the design process, from start to finish. In addition to home staging and interior design services, Gigi Park also provided prop styling and stage dressing for clients such as Airbnb, Comcast, and GoPro.
My responsibilities as a staging associate included: Assisting in the selection of furnishings and accessories Selecting and hanging artwork Directing installations and strikes of properties Handling art rentals and returns to the MOMA annex Sourcing and purchasing plants and flowers Matting and framing artwork Managing a 5,000 sq ft warehouse and its inventory Creating interesting new props and artwork
