The relationship with a brother is absolutely amazing. If you have a brother, then you already know how extraordinary it can be. Brothers are there to be role models, close confidants, courageous protectors, bitter rivals and pleasant friends. Regardless of where they fall in the family line, older or younger, having a brother is positively an incredible experience. The Arrington brothers exemplify that brotherly bond within the sports arena. Torrian and Tyler Arrington are both seniors at Shelby High School in Shelby, North Carolina. They are key players on a football team that has averaged 14 wins per season and conquered state titles earning the brothers 3 state championship rings.

The Arringtons are multi-athletic young men who exercise their freedom of expression through passion, purpose, and opportunity within sporting activities . When it comes to football Torrian seems to have a closer connection, stating, “I didn’t necessarily choose football, it chose me”. Meanwhile, Tyler enjoys every sport that he is involved in and offered no specifications of a

favorite. In addition to football championships, Tyler highlights his engagement in the 2019 basketball state championship as well as his 40 point scoring frenzy in a single game. He works hard and trains even harder. “There aren’t any training activities that I dislike despite the challenge,” says Tyler. “Knowing the purpose is for my growth, I am able to press through each training experience and overcome every obstacle.” Despite his success in football, Torrian is clearly not the dumb jock stereotype. “In this season, my ultimate achievement is to make sure that I am ready to make the next step in my journey,” he says. “I am currently in the process of applying for colleges and visiting campuses to identify the ideal match.” When asked about mental challenges that hinder improvement on and off the field, Torrian intensely states: “My biggest mental challenges are balancing a full plate with academics, sports, and life in general; I’m focusing on myself as a total person and not just an athlete.” The Arrington brothers are trending upward on the high road to success. Their efforts and achievements have not gone unnoticed as they have each acquired ten acceptance letters to various colleges. It is believed that they will remain determined, dedicated, and disciplined to their academics as well as their athletics. As the “footballs” of life are thrown our way, if we fumble and miss the pass there are always opportunities to recover. “Mistakes are a part of the learning process,” Torrian assures. “Knowing that success is generated from failures, we regain composure, adjust, and get

ready for the next play.”
