INTERIOR DESIGN Coffee Shop _ Independent building in the Campus of Democritus University of Thrace in Xanthi, Greece

Team : Ntafouli Eleni - Anastasia, Pachoumi Zacharenia Tutor :

Amerikanou Eleni

Date :

February 2019

what is it all about ? The case of this project is the design and the configuration of the exterior form as well as the interior of the coffee shop. In the study it is also included to be taken into account the directly surrounding space, the equipment and the access from the two roads.

ABOUT THE STUDY AREA

a) function , b) structure , c) aesthetics synthesis , organization and modulation of indoor and outdoor building units of limited size accompanied by functional requirements transition from smaller to from the general layout

WHY CHOOSING THE CURVE? The choice of using a basic curve was not accidental. We used it as mean of expression and decided to carry the key role in our project for numerous reasons

- become more and more familiar with it and in some way to manage it, always under the supervision of the tutors -process in more detail the properties and in particular the power that characterizes it as a line

ABOUT THE PROJECT :

space programming lobby - coffee room 120m2 bar 25m

2

kitchen_storeroom 12m2 semi-outdoor seating area 50m2 outdoor area WC (1 for men, 1 for women and 1 for people with disabilities) ground floor (basement not allowed in the proposal)

-the basic fact is that the study plot borders the two departments of Polytechnical School. Our major intention is to be used in the same way by both. In this case, the curve stood as the ideal element in order to accomplish it. In fact, it does not present any front The facade of the building looks continuous, the entrance is visible and accessible from all points without seeming to be offered specifically for one of the two departments. . -In addition, as a line it is user-friendly and as a whole delivers an interesting and playful set. -On the south side, in the outdoor space, a set of concrete walls dominates, marking the beginning of this curvy geometry. At the same time, this set is the boundary between the public space and the outdoor space of the building as well as its suggested trademark.

- financial proposal - users : young groups of people : mostly students, professors and the administration staff of each department - so the concept concerns a space pleasant and bright, suitable for breaks, relaxation or even study and work - generally minimal attitude and approach, the space is not full of information

INDUSTRIAL x NORDIC STYLE MATERIALS : the leading role is played by the construction material which is the concrete. It is found in all masonry except the one of the bar which is lined with black tiles and the counter of the bar and the bathrooms which are lined with white tiles. All the floors of the building are proposed to be constructed with industrial flooring.

COLOR PALETTE : neutral. Τhe colors of the materials dominate. The details are those which give intensity and vitality, such as the fabrics and textures of the furniture, the pillows on the sofas and the plants

FURNITURE : simple lines, it is distinguished by different sizes and types so that even if there are no visible boundaries, to divide the space depending on each occasion
