ReWheat is based on origami principals project of lamp. Our aim was to create something really unusual by using minimum resources and human labor. The lampshade can be easily assembled, without any tools or glue, by simply folding one ready-cut sheet of polypropylene. As the result we receive self-supporting surface with the unique design. You can see different lighting effects on lampshade that emanates from folded parts. It’s a really interesting design that may be easily combined with any variety of interior decoration. After lots of experiments we agreed that this product should be made from polypropylene with thickness 0.5- 0.8mm. Cutting implemented into the laser cutting system using dash line. The project considers sustainibility though the use of energy saving lamps that makes it respond basic demands of modern design. ReWheat is economically justified and ready for mass production.

research The design was inspired by natural form of wheat ear. The lamp is formed by plain lines but combines elegance and complicated forms. Easily transformed sheet of polypropylene can assimilate loadings and presents modern impresive parametric design.
