Park424 is a community inclusive sculpture garden at Angered Centrum that’s built by rotating artists-inresidence who engage with community stakeholders to create relevant art inspired by those interactions. Park424 is located in the outskirts of the centre of Angered just outside to the new sport facilities. It is surrounded by Stråket, Angered high school, the future hospital, residential areas, local businesses and abundant nature. Park424 will become a central meeting place for the community to talk about their lives and dream about the future. Together with the 424Lab, projects that are run by the artists-in-residence, new sculptures and workshops will be developed each year, were the park can grow mutually with the city of Angered. In the future, Park 424 will tell the story of Angered and it will become a place, which the people of Angered are proud of.
Residents can expand their living rooms to Park424. The park will facilitate opportunities for meetings and social events. The diverse use of the park will make it a lively and safe spot for everyone in the community.
Residents Park424 is bordered by abundant nature, which gives users the possibility to enter the forest easily from the park and to enjoy beautiful landscapes. Park424 is a bridge between nature and the urban areas that compliment the environment.
Education
Students from different schools located in Angered can participate in workshops organized by the artist or share their ideas with 424Lab online. Angered high school can use Park424 as an extension to their own facilities.
Environment
Business Events at Blå stället and Park424 can share space to expand according to need. 424Lab, Blå stället and other cultural institutions can work together, organising events for cultural diversity with the people of Angered.
Culture
Health Tourists and residents from the greater Gothenburg region can visit cultural events as well as 424Lab and the sculpture park. By having people from outside Angered come and visit, cultural distances will decrease from the rest of the Gothenburg region.
The park can be used for local business events and co-operation between entrepreneurs. Workshops and collaboration with 424Lab can also lead to new business ideas.
