Classico Instructions

Classico chalk based paint | APPLICATION INFORMATION Tools: Brush or roller (5-6 mm roller for smooth surfaces, lint free) and tape. Dilute Classico with water, up to 10% and stir well. Apply as any other wall paint with a brush, a smooth roller or by spraying. Make sure the substrate is free of fat, dust and lose parts. It’s recommended to roughen shiny surfaces slightly with sanding paper for maximum adhesion. Waiting time; about 4 hours before applying the second coat. If you like a more rustic, hand-applied finish, we recommend applying the paint with a chalk brush in vertical strokes, from top to bottom in one direction. Don’t cut edges in advance, don’t cut edges horizontal. It’s good practice to mix and match if multiple cans are required for your project. Classico is also very popular to refurbish furniture or cabinetry. Some of those surfaces might need extra attention. Old finishes might contain wax, grease/oil or silicone. If that’s the case (or if you’re not sure) we recommend cleaning the surface with mineral spirits or TSP. Silicons need to be sanded down. Protect bleeding types of wood with shellac. Although Classico is washable (after two weeks), for some areas (for example around the kitchen sink or a tabletop), it’s better to add some extra protection. Our Dead Flat Ecosealer is an excellent product for that purpose. How to apply Dead Flat Ecosealer: A matte, transparent, sealer. Easy to clean and water-repellent. Wait a few days until the paint has fully cured. Apply 2 thin, diluted layers of Dead Flat Ecosealer with a brush or rub it in with a damp cloth. Don’t use a roller to prevent air bubbles. Wait 12 hours before applying the next coat. How to apply Italian Wax: Apply the wax with a clean, lint-free, cotton cloth in a circular motion. Dilution is not needed, stir before and during the application of the wax. Apply 1 or 2 layers, to make it water repellent at least 2 layers are required. After application, remove excess wax and leave to dry. Respect the drying time in between the layers of at least 12 hours. After drying, polish with a cotton cloth or polishing machine until the desired sheen. Application video of the wax is available at www.pureoriginalusa.com or www.pureoriginalcanada.com
