a message from your bulletin editor to our prez! Hi everybody! Your Key Club bulletin editor here! I just wanted to dedicate a special message to our president, Thaniel Directo. Thank you for being such a dedicated President. You were the first president at VHHS that actually cared about how the club ran and you put in so many hours and joy into your volunteer work, while maintaining your 4.0 gpa! How impressive! You're a great leader and we all know that you're going to continue being an amazing person as you go on in life. You've encouraged all to be great mini leaders! If that makes sense lol. But yah! We all thank you as a club and appreciate everything you've done for us!! We heart you!!

LA MARATHON On March 9th, Verdugo Key Clubbers woke up on a beautiful day to help volunteer for the Los Angeles marathon! The weather was chilly in the morning but eventually started to warm up and it was so nice being right by the beach! It was a stress reliever just looking out in the ocean. I found this event to be super fun! Probably my favorite event actually. They gave us snacks and they were good snacks. Our station was sponsered by TEAM Sojourn and they provided with nice shirts to wear while we we're volunteering! I found this event to be a team work activity. We all worked together filling up the little cups with gatorade and it was honestly a really hard task! lol. Handing them out was probably the most challenging part of this whole process because your arms start getting sore and it just really hurts and you want to sit but you can't just let the runners not get their gatorade! So, it was a life and death situation basically.

Officer of the Month

Marina Sung

For the month of March, none other than the vice president herself has been selected as the officer of the month. These are her words: “Really? I was chosen as the officer of the month? FINALLY! Haha, no I’m joking. I’m really grateful for being chosen as the officer of the month. I didn’t think I was going to be ever selected as one but it’s wonderful to know that I have. Well, let’s see. I’m dedicated to the Key Club family but lately I haven’t been able to do much and attend events because of personal reasons, and I do hope everyone will forgive me for it. I have other duties such as being a part of NHS and CSF plus other things going on in my life, but nonetheless that is no excuse. I am always thinking of my Kiwanis family and I would like to think I’ve been giving it my all for my term. It’s sad to say that my term is coming to an end but it’s safe to say that I have enjoyed it to the fullest! The members that I serve and officers I serve with have been so wonderful to me for the past year that I couldn’t have asked for a better club to represent; especially the division. I hope to be a great influence to those that come after me. Haha, that’s not really going to happen. Even still, I am grateful and I shall try my best throughout! Let’s go, Key Club!” Congratulations, Marina!

Member of the Month

With graduation less than two months away, Areli never fails to attend the weekly meetings and give help to the events. With such a positive attitude, it only makes sense to make her the member of the month for March. She has a lot of other duties on her hands besides being in Key Club such as being in CSF, Interact, NHS, prom committee, and even Track. Wow! It’s with so many duties that it makes other members wonder how she has any time to do anything, let alone attend events and earn some community service hours. Areli always has a smile to give to other fellow members and friends. She has been to at least one event each month for the past few months. Other members adore her and see her as a great person to get along with. She has such a positive attitude with the way she approaches things and even attends to cheer people up when she sees them being down. She is a wonderful member to have and it’s really sad to see her leave. Congratulations, Areli! Have a wonderful time in college!
