WYRE FLOOD FORUM (cont)
to clear roots in the existing culvert. Hambleton and Stalmine. Matters raised include the drainage culvert from the former police station on Broadpool Lane, a highway drainage pipe in the field opposite Queensland, foul drainage from the culverted watercourse at Rydal Road and questions about Sherbourne Road pumping station. The landowner of the watercourse on Marsh Lane would need to undertake work to clear and maintain. Stalmine asked LCC to look at the junction of Highgate Lane and Staynall Lane. A request was made for the layout of the foul pumping station on Kiln lane including invert levels of discharge to Wardley’s Creek. Churchtown FLAG confirmed that most of their issues have been resolved by LCC highways including the installation of new drainage at the junction of the Avenue and A6 and at Ainspool Lane hopefully improving flood resilience. LCC noted concern expressed about the flap valve on the outfall into the Ainspool. Although EA had found no problem it would be checked again. St Michaels; someone unknown has created a Clough (a gully) on Humblescough Brook watercourse under the road leading to the quarry EA claim not to be responsible but will investigate. United Utilities are working with the FLAG to resolve the discharge of sewage from the Great Eccleston to Churchtown Sewer on Rawcliffe Road. This will be the subject of a high level investigation. Concerns were raised about erosion on the right bank of the Wyre upstream of the village. EA will investigate. Great Eccleston: Again the hazard of flooding on A586 at Whites Bridge raised with a request to LCC to improve signage. EA were surveying the watercourse right bank. Regular flooding to Lancaster Road and Raikes Road at junction with A586.Wyre and United Utilities are working on it. At Out Rawcliffe; work on Bodkin lane flooding completed and also at Dry Bread Lane. LCC confirm that riverside road just past Town End is being investigated for drain clearance. A quick round up of flooding issues in Over Wyre and Rural Wyre raised by residents and discussed with our officers. It is to be hoped that we will have a quiet autumn and winter.

CARDIAC RISK IN THE YOUNG
Matthew Hesmondhalgh Memorial Fund
With the heavenly scent of jam cooling and the second batch of gloriously purple damsons on the boil ready for our next pop up shop, our thoughts here at Matt’s Fund are definitely in autumn mode! The launch of the pop-up shop in September was well received and we’d like to thank everyone who dropped by. It was lovely to chat about everything and anything and especially raising awareness of our local facility and of course the work we are doing. From the feedback we received we now plan to hold themed pop-up shops more often and for longer hours so with that in mind our next event will be ‘Shades of Autumn’ at Catterall Village Hall, Fri 1st Oct, 11:00am - 6:00pm with a range of plants, produce, jams, new and pre-loved items, clothing, fancy dress, shoes, handbags and more to help celebrate the season and adorn your home this Autumn. Thanks to everyone who has donated goods towards this event and to the wayside stalls on Cock Robin, seasonal items are always very much appreciated. The ‘Everything £1’ sale in the main hall at Catterall was also successful, raising £389 towards screening. Thank you to all who donated, supported and helped. Following a Christmas pop up shop planned for mid-November our next event in the main room at Catterall Village Hall (not to be confused with Kirkland and Catterall Memorial Hall), will be a toy fair, so keep an eye out for
