We are hopeful that our next screening (Covid permitting) will return to its regular slot of the first weekend in February. Appointments for the screening event are scheduled to go online on the Wed 1st Dec, but please be aware that the appointments go very quickly (often within a day of being released) so if you wish to be screened please keep a close eye on www.testmyheart.org or go to this webpage prior to December and complete an interest form.

Fundraising

We currently have some pretty handmade items for sale at the Art Centre Christmas Fair which is running until Thurs 2nd Dec. Christmas cards for Matt’s Fund are still available at Best Wishes in Garstang. A few of the charmingHighland Cow calendars in memory of Andrew Key and Matt are also still available at Garstang’s Best Wishes, The Cheese Shop, Dewlay, and also at Longridge from Meraki, The Old Station café, Tap and Vent, Raymond James Investment Services, Jo’s Village Kitchen, Heritage Interiors and Longridge Golf Course. As the year comes to a close, we all would like to thank everyone in our wonderful community and beyond for all your tremendous support over what has been a somewhat challenging 12 months.

We hope the gifts of peace, friendship and love are with you and yours this Christmas time and in the year ahead.

My name is Mark Trent and I am the Wyre volunteer officer from the Lancashire Volunteer Partnership, a public sector service which operates throughout Lancashire. Do you have a spare hour once a week to volunteer your time to speak to someone in your local community as a telephone befriender? If you can then I would love to hear from you so I can explain how we work in more detail. There are lots of people feeling lonely and isolated who are referred to our service and would like someone to talk to. If interested, please phone me between 8:00am and 4:00pm Monday to Friday or e-mail me.
