For jewellery that makes a statement remember the name Mark Katzeff. The custom jewellery studio and goldsmith based in Edmonton uses materials that are not what you will find in every jewellery shop. Think mammoth ivory, fossilized dinosaur bone and meteorite, to name a few. “We are not your typical jewellery store,” proclaimed Katzeff in an interview with Modern Luxuria Magazine.

The South African-born jewellery designer trained with German jewellers and has been crafting jewellery since 1982. Katzeff says his success is due to his ability to create jewellery that becomes family heirlooms and whose wearers return for more jewellery every few years. “I met with a young man on Saturday. I’ve known his parents and his grandparents. I’ve done his parents’ wedding bands. I’ve done his bar mitzvah ring. He was still wearing it. And now he’s getting engaged. Hopefully I’ll be
