WALK TO THE BEACH
Falling asleep to the sight of the glistening waves is pretty magical and being able to stroll down to the sand every morning in less than ten minutes, well that really does make for a dream holiday in Pembrokeshire!
Whenplanning a coastal holiday, choosing accommodation within walking distance of the beach has to be the biggest and best treat you can give yourself. There’s no better feeling than waking up to warm sunshine and padding your way down a path straight onto the beach.
Beachside locations set the tone for your holiday; the rhythmic lapping of the waves becomes a soothing soundtrack to your getaway whilst scents of seaweed and salty sea air cast refreshing aromas throughout your days.
Soon enough, leisurely routines form as your days centre around simply being at the beach. Depending on just how close you are, you might find yourself strolling to the beachfront with a cuppa in hand before you prepare for the day ahead. Pack a few sarnies in a bag for a spontaneous picnic or go all out and take a feast; either way, you know it's pretty close to carry however much you pack. And if you forget that vital ingredient? No bother, a quick jaunt back to the house is all it takes.
Holidays are all about great experiences as those are the things that create unforgettable memories, so why waste your time travelling between the beach and your home- from-home when you can make sure the two are close together? Removing all unnecessary travel from your schedule gives you more time for the things you really want to do - like barbecues on the beach and teaching the little ones how to skim stones.
Sea swimmers, surfers, sunbathers and kayakers all revel in staying within close proximity of the shoreline as after all, who could complain about going from bed to sand in less than five minutes flat? Not us, that’s for sure.
Beaches are so much more than just locations for activities; they are places that can become completely intertwined with some of your best memories, ones you’ll be telling people about for years to come. You’ll never forget the first time your toddler built a sandcastle or the first time you took your beloved pup to see the sea - the confusion of the ever-moving tide on their faces. Perhaps it’ll be a proposal or a specific sunset, perhaps it’ll be the last time you strolled by the shore with your sweetheart.
Whichever cove or inlet you visit, whoever with and whatever you do there; it’s likely that the beach will play a vital role in keeping that treasured memory alive for years to come.
