objective inculcate a stronger museum-going culture amongst singaporean teens

cilent

National Heritage Board (NHB)

WHATS YOUR MUSEUM IDENTITY? The National Heritage Board was the cilent of this project and the aim was to inculcate and develop a museum-going culture in Singaporean youths. The concept of the publication was to figure out the museum identity in all of us to help relate different aspects of our personalities to the museums. I chose to focus on three diferent museums and relate them with three different personalities.

The look and feel of the publication was decided to be light-hearted, friendly and quirky. Museums featured in the publication are the Mint Museum of Toys, the Peranakan Museum and the Singapore Philatelic Museum. Personalities such as the “Sassy Fashionistas were forged to accompany the museums. The publication was also designed in a way where it had interactive pages for the reader to take part in so as to make it more hands-on and fun. Perfect binding was used for the publication to give off a polished story book feeling.

The publication also requires me to come up with light-hearted copywriting techniques for most of the spreads. My illustration style is pretty evident in the spreads showcased here.

NESTLÉ PROJECT — SPREADING THE NESTLÉ COFFEE LOVE

objective to celebrate and develop a coffee culture in corporate places.

cilent Nestle // Nescafé Alegria

This Nestlé initiated project required me to design side panels for their Alegria coffee machines. The only project guideline the cilent gave was that it had to be coffee-themed. My side panel design is called “Spread the Coffee Love”. My concept for this project was to celebrate the coffee-culture. To show how coffee brings people together in ways such as you going out of your way to brew a cup of cappuccino for your colleague. I illustrated different hands with different sleeves interacting with each other to show to people showing love to each other through coffee.

I also used monotonous colours for this project namely, the deep maroon that Nestlé uses in their coporate identity and branding. I also added the specific names of the kind of coffee the machine is able to brew so as to make the design more relevant with the machine itself.

SPCA POSTCARDS — BACK TO THE BASICS

objective to raise awareness for animal cruelty and emphasise on how simple it is to show love to your pets

cilent SPCA Singapore The concept behind these postcards is that it is meant to be simplistic because what i wanted to highlight was that having a good relationship with your pet is as simple as it can get. Love should be the basis of a good relationship between you and your domestic animal, thus a heart is either present in the center of the illustration or the illustrations are placed in a heart-shaped manner. Also to accentuate the idea of loving your pets being a simple task, most illustrations are done using simple geometric shapes and vectors. Simple taglines are also used like “Give Love” and “Back to Love” to further accentuate the idea of love and the need to adore your pets.

objective to advertise and promote the diversity of fishes at the River Safari

River Safari Singapore

SWIPE MY SCALES! This advertising project I did on River Safari Singapore aims to promote the safari by focusing on the diversity of fishes there as their unique selling point. The targetted demographic for the project are kids and youths. People in that age group are more likely to be attracted to strong graphics, hence i illustrated fishes in a flip book manner where it produces enough visual interest and also able to grab the children’s attention through the silly humourous visual effect that is caused when the bodies of different fishes are connected as if it was a real whole fish. The advertising project was to be implemented as a touch screen bus stop poster where it is more hands on and interactive.
