EAMES
2
As the name suggest the space was built around the Eames Lounge Chair, with a budget of $1000 as a part of an Ikea Design Challenge. The room’s main inspiration was the creator of the furniture piece: Charles Eames; our intent was to create a place that represented his way of living and tendencies. With similar elements of their own house, the room is a place to relax and work by getting inspired by all the details and features.

The room will have linear elements all over its composition, within the architectural elements and furniture. The color palette will be mainly with white and neutral colors, and primary colors exposed through the artwork and the graphic elements.

THE DETAILS ARE NOT THE DETAILS. THEY MAKE THE DESIGN.
The Eameses are best known for their ground-breaking contributions to architecture, furniture design, industrial design, manufacturing and the photographic arts. They were the inspiration for each piece of art created solely for the purposes of this room, where graphic design meets interior design.

After researching about the magazine, we realized the real objective of the magazine “it is not only about music, but what music embraces. Therefore the interior design of the offices will narrate the relationship between music and the history that it contains. The design will have a variety of colors and contrast. As for the floor plan layout, it will be linear and repetitive based on the research made and the functionality of the office.

Metamorphose is a designer’s retail store which main selling products are couture gowns and clutches. The store’s main design inspiration will be the dress the designer choses as crucial for the opening of the store, taking into account its organic shapes, different textures and natural feel.In this order, the design will be based in the idea of a forest.

All the details of the store will be based on trees and other organic shapes, where the main dress will be exposed in. The other products, stacks and furnishings will hang in the rest of the space radiating these architectural features, following the same feel with curves and dynamic shapes.

Metamorphosis or Metamorphose, in french means transformation. Therefore the name of the store comes from the look and feel the inspirational dress gives us, full of organic shapes and textures. The transformation is reflected as the interior design of the store converting into the selling product.

WELLNESS
A “Sustainable Development” in the center of Miami’s Design District will promote the construction of green design and architecture in the city. The building consists on both: a retail-restaurant space with a residential component above, in order to stimulate social inclusion. The development’s main objectives are to obtain a LEED certification, to make a waste=food cycle within its construction, and that all retail products sold are organic.

A building with the same function as the Mc Arthur Palm Tree, provides oxygen and energy for humans. The goal is achieved by placing huge glass tubes on a facade, which holds algae breeders, making them produce fuel. These uses waste water from building as nutrients and pumps CO2 of the building air for the plant. Consequently, the algae pumps back oxygen, while creating fatty lipids that can be burned in co-generator for heat and electricity.
