hello from Megan Hello Beauties!! xo xo I have so many exciting things happening right now in my own life: Our 7 year wedding anniversary, back to school for the kids, transitioning to a 3-day work schedule, and a re-launch of the 2017 Hello Life Academy. And yes, you bet‌ After three years of working non-stop on Hello Life & Hello Life Academy, I have gotten to a place where I can reduce my business hours and still bring in the income I desire (DREAM BIG!!) There are SO many questions when you are first beginning with your business. I was there, and some days I still have questions!

Issue 01
Where do I find clients? Who will hire me? Am I really an expert? How do I grow my Facebook audience? Guess what? Everyone has asked those questions & has felt confused, overwhelmed and nearly paralysed at first. It's not easy. If it was, everyone would be doing it.
Yet it can feel so great to openly communicate, "I need support." That’s the moment when you feel release: The moment when you feel like things are going to work out. But it doesn’t happen until you admit you need support. Ask for guidance. Ask for help. Ask for someone to listen to your dreams. I want to take a few seconds & thank you. YOU have passion, dedication & love what you do. These are qualities I love and admire in a woman. Thank you for being part of Hello Life, in some capacity! We are closing the doors shortly on the Hello Life Academy (for 2017), and I want you to know something. This is not your regular coaching program. Lots of digging, lots of creating, lots of making sure your business is growing. I don't limit your calls, or put you on a strict schedule -- Hello Life Academy is custom-made for YOU. Because YOU are an individual. xo YOU deserve to move your business forward. xo Here's to New Beginnings in 2017, and beyond! xo Lots of love -

How long have you been in business? I have been in the fitness industry since July, 2006. I ran a business in Ireland teaching personal training and fitness boot-camps. I also worked, on contract, for a mommy fitness company called "Baby Body Fit." Then, I closed up shop to move to Canada in January, 2014. It took me a while to find my feet, but when I did, I felt it was time to start offering my services again. I started offering nutritional therapy and coaching, personal training, and Pilates instruction. Chemaine's Model Health was born and has been blooming ever since! Starting Chemaine's Model Health has been a wonderful beginning for me in Canada.
I WANT THEM TO SUCCEED AND TO BEGIN THEIR JOURNEY TOWARD BETTER HEALTH." "
The most passionate about? I want people to succeed. I want them to feel confident that they know how to handle any situation that is thrown at them. I do not want them to try and then fail, and get disheartened over and over again. I want them to succeed and to begin their journey toward better health.
On balancing work & family life Being a mom is hard. Getting your kids to eat quality food is even harder! But where there is a will, there is a way. I make sure my kids see me train. They see me eat nutrient-dense natural foods. I believe in leading by example. But I also have a couple of food hacks up my sleeve! I will try 'upgrade' my kids' food as much as possible. We only use coconut milk, grass fed butter, and organic foods, where possible. When I bake, I use nut flowers and add in some spirulina, goji berries, and raw honey for some super-food goodness.
A-ha moment that you needed to focus on your health? My sister and her friend brought me to a Weight Watchers meeting one evening in Dublin, Ireland. Until then, I had no idea what weight I was. So I stepped on the scale and faced the harsh truth of finding out that I weighed 250 lbs. I went home and cried that night. Everything changed after that. It was certainly a new beginning in my life, and I am so thankful for this difficult, but life-changing moment. It truly changed the trajectory of my life. I didn't want to be unhappy or unhealthy anymore. I wanted to be the best for myself, and for my son.
fave at-home workouts? Preventing the side effects of ageing on the body is very important to me. Strength is a big modality of fitness for me also. Because I am a personal trainer and Pilates instructor, I have a lot of equipment in my home that I can work with, which is great. There's always something new I can try out, or a different body part that needs a little extra attention. Right now, I have been focusing a lot of my attention on frequency, stick mobility, and incorporating tension into my training. I have been doing this for so long, that programs just pop into my head when I need them.
But I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then!' - Alice in Wonderland '
How has The Hello Life Academy helped you grow as a business woman & person? Before I joined the Academy, I had no direction. I thought I knew what I wanted, but was not 100% certain of anything. I knew I was born to teach. I knew I wanted to help people and be successful, but I had no idea where to start or how to market my business. You see, I am a teacher. I am hands-on with my clients. But when it comes to the business end of it all, I knew I needed help. Then, I met Megan Lockhart. I knew she saw who I was at the core. She saw what I wanted my business to represent and, most importantly, she saw how to get me there. Her vision for business is impeccable. And starting with the Hello Life Academy was the beginning of seeing my business dreams become reality. Yes, it has been a struggle building a health business while also dealing with immigration, taking care of two boys, training, and teaching, but I can honestly say that joining the Hello Life Academy was the best decision I ever made. The support, the ideas, the process: They have been invaluable in building my business. It has been exactly what I needed to help me and my business bloom! For that, I will be forever grateful to Megan and the Hello Life Academy team!

meet confessions of a meal plan addict
MY NEW BEGINNING WAS JANUARY 9TH, 2014. I WAS MISERABLE. I WAS OVERWEIGHT. I HAD NO ENERGY, AND I HAD SLOWLY BECOME A PERSON I DIDN’T WANT TO BE." "
New Year. New Beginnings. New Habits. My new beginning was January 9th, 2014. I was miserable. I was overweight. I had no energy, and I had slowly become a person I didn’t want to be. On this day, I changed it all with a new habit. I now enable and coach anyone, anytime, anywhere to do the same through Confessions of a Meal Plan Addict. I created Confessions of a Meal Plan Addict to be an online resource for all that is Meal Prepping and Planning. Confessions of a Meal Plan Addict is the inspiration, the how-to, and an online community of others learning and mastering this habit too. This one habit can create a ripple of changes in your life. Not only is this habit a way to save money, free up time in your weeknights to do more than cook and do dishes, it can become your habit of self-care. It is your way to set yourself up for a successful week. It is your way to calm the chaos that is dinner time.
I love to show women that this habit can have these 3 profound affects:
1. Bye Bye mindless eating – Hello MINDFUL eating: Meal planning and prepping helps you be thoughtful about what goes into your body, and in front of your family. When you mindfully plan a week of meals, you are more conscious of making good choices.
2. Organisation of the whole week – Beyond the kitchen: When you start planning your meals, you are forced to look at things like, "Where are we on Wednesday?" How much time will we have for dinner before our activities? Do we have a babysitter?!? When you sit down to plan your weekly meals, you are also planning the family activities for the week.
3. Self-Care: Once a week meal prepping makes you STOP and SLOW DOWN. Meal prepping is telling yourself that you are worthy of your own time. You get to stop and plan what to eat – And take the time to prep it. You won’t be running through a drive through and eating whatever is available. You are worth your own time.
Every woman deserves the three things above". "

IT S TIME TO START '
THE 2018 HELLO LIFE ACADEMY OPENS IN MAY
Self-Love with alexis trinity love I am Alexis Trinity Love. I reside in Spruce Grove, Alberta, and am 36 years old. I am the mother of a beautiful, loving daughter, Emma Felicity, who is 10 years old. Just recently, my marriage ended, after two-and-a-half years (and we were together for four years, prior to our marriage, as common-law partners). The ending of my marriage has sent me on a path of new beginnings! For the past nine months, I could have chosen to curl up and hide. I could have wished my life would magically change on its own. However, I chose to allow myself to go through the process of grieving the end of a relationship. I thought the relationship was my whole world. In reality, it was an illusion. I knew deep down there was more to my purpose in life. Working through all of it, I discovered that I had a fear of being alone, a fear of failure, and a fear of not being good enough. With these voices running daily through my head, I was being led down a path of selfdestruction for many years. In the last nine months, I have come to realise that I do matter - I am of great worth. I am an amazing woman who can conquer anything. With the love and support of friends that have been there for Emma and I through thick and thin, I have picked myself up and began to regard this difficult journey as a gift in my life. I know I need to really shoot for what I really want in life. Through self-help and self-discovery, I manage to look at everyday as a new day and a new opportunity. I choose gratitude, and frequently use breath work, meditation, and kick-boxing, to feed my soul.
Self-Love I need to remember that I do not have to do anything in life I do not want to do. I am in charge of creating my own reality, and choosing my own adventures. So when in doubt, I choose excitement! I put one foot in front of the other and utilise my support system (family and friends) when needed. It is my goal in life to inspire others to look at themselves authentically, and truly love themselves. I want to be a shining example for others to see. I hope to reach as many as I can in my lifetime, and even after I am gone. So, in the moments of self-doubt, please know you are not alone. Do not give up. Live each moment to its fullest potential, and watch your life blossom! Remember to weed out the garden of your life and fill it with pure beauty! I now choose to not chase anything in life. Instead, I allow opportunities to come to me. I believe there is always a bigger plan in store. I love to write about my day, and practice gratitude through writing in a journal. This assists in keeping my energy levels high. How I feel about myself is directly tied to gratitude. Lastly, I am not attached to where life takes me anymore. I just float where I am meant to be! Life is a beautiful thing, and it is meant to be thoroughly enjoyed, and not taken for granted!

after Divorce
Life after Divorce
What are you most passionate about?
I feel most passionate about serving women who want to feel heard and need help getting through their divorce process with their sanity, health and lives intact. I’ve been doing it for years for friends and then friends of friends. I love to help them avoid costly mistakes and save them some money. Gold Coast Divorce Coach has enabled me to reach more women than I ever imagined.
what pushed you through the past to get to where you are today? I went through my own 15 year custody battle. It was more of a Netflix series, actually. Most of my family had passed away, and so I had my friends, but we were in our early 20’s and didn’t know a thing. My attorneys, they became my family. They taught me more than any normal person ever needs to know about the practical side of divorce law and how the system works. It’s not pretty, but through this expensive, drawnout War of the Roses, I came to see that I knew how to help other women. I would see them making errors and knew what the unfortunate outcome would be...it was like I had learned another language!
Two books...incredible!
Yes! "The Healthy Divorce: Keep your peace, health and friends" is about how to incorporate healthy habits into your life. I attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to learn how to keep myself and my family in tip top health. I was certified as a Holistic Health Coach and have combined the teachings of IIN with what I know to be true about living a good life during a very hard time. The second book will be available in the coming month: "A-Z Divorce," and it's more of a quick guide. It’s a bit funnier too.
3 things a person going through a divorce needs to focus on? - Children - If there are children involved, they always come first. They need to be kept out of the fray as much as possible. These are almost always adult problems for adults only. - Branding - Yes, the attorneys, judges, law guardians, and visitation specialists see you and make decisions on very little information, like how you LOOK. Every time they see you, you need to be consistently neat, well-spoken, and in control. NO temper tantrums. - Stress level - You will need to reach out of your comfort zone during a divorce, because a weekly manicure is not going to be enough to combat the stress you will be under. Think yoga, meditation, mindful eating, and breathing exercises. Anything that has ever worked for you, or for a friend, you have to try it.
after Divorce, what should you expect? Okotoks and Black Diamond, Alberta. We are working our way into Calgary, Alberta, so if anyone would like to hold a pop-up class or workshop, I would love to help you out. Buti Yoga has grown 400% over the last year worldwide.
After divorce, what to expect? You may find yourself feeling lost. A divorce can take quite a while: One to three years. Your body and mind are used to fight or flight. You will need to take time to recharge your batteries and begin to design, if you haven’t already, a life that you are happy to wake up to each day.
Who is your number one inspiration? I was inspired by my grandparents' 65 year marriage. They were madly in love, best friends, and ran a huge company together as equal partners. I am not pro-divorce, by any means. Often, if a client is in the early stages of separation, we do some work around the decision. My hope is that everyone finds their soulmate.
THE BEGINNING OF ANYTHING IS BOTH EXCITING AND SCARY.
PRINCESS DIANA SAID, "WHEN YOU ARE HAPPY, YOU CAN FORGIVE A GREAT DEAL." ISN'T IT SO TRUE?
Marie Perry
with Hot Mama Fitness
How did you decide to be in the fitness industry? I used to teach fitness a long time ago. I was a lifeguard and aquatics instructor. I started out teaching Aquacize. I joined the Calgary Police Service, and was a patrol officer for fourteen years. After having our kids, my husband and I made the decision for me to resign to be home with our kids. We both felt that it was better for me to stay home instead of our kids being away from home for days at a time while we both worked night shifts. I decided to get my fitness certification back and teach again. I always found joy in helping people reach their fitness goals.
How do you balance mom life + business life? I have two beautiful kids. My feisty, independent daughter is five, and is in kindergarten. My son is three, and is the sweetest boy I could have hoped for. Balancing the mom side and business side is always challenging. Thankfully, I chose a business that I can do with them by my side. Fortunately for me, they both love going to Hot Mama! What is more challenging is finding time to organize and plan my classes, and get the paperwork taken care of. It's a work in progress.
What is your largest lessons learnt since opening the business? Try to have a thick skin. It is never personal. Also, you need to be willing to do things WAY outside of your comfort zone at times. Challenge yourself and grow throughout the process.
When you get stressed --
what brings you back to a place of
Joy
I love my classes! The energy from the Hot Mamas brings me great joy in my life. I also find joy in going on dates with my hubby. We love hiking and snowshoeing together. We also have some friendly competition in our relationship: We compete for highest watts at Spin!
Marie - some people just CAN'T go to classes, they feel scared, intimidated and maybe ...well lazy... Can you offer some guidance and motivation to our readers? First of all, I wish we could remove the word CAN'T from our vocabulary. There is very little we CAN'T do. But we either won't do something or we don't do something. I would say the first thing is to do something you enjoy. I like to run. I do at least one half marathon a year. I don't tell people they should run if they don't enjoy it. If you like to dance, try Zumba Fitness. Maybe try something like martial arts, or spinning. Be open to new experiences. Even if it's not going to help my own business, I would still love to see people get up and be active. If you don't think you can find the time, try going for a walk at lunch time. Every bit of activity counts. Do three ten minute bursts of exercise at different times throughout the day. Moving your body is so important, and whatever it takes to get yourself moving, get it done.

New Beginnings with a Side of Grace with Tara Antosh The start of a new year seems to bring us all to a place where we can reflect on the past year, strive to live in the present, and dream about what the future holds. Whether 2016 was a year of realised potential, goals achieved, and joy, or whether it was a year of heartache, struggles, and frustration, the new year presents an opportunity for a New Beginning. It is a chance to re-evaluate how we live, and how we see our world, as well. Beyond the classic "New Year's Resolutions," we can begin to make a plan for our lives, set things in motion, and change how we see and influence the world around us. It is a New Beginning... Too bad this New Beginning doesn't always go as we have so carefully planned... Case in point? The start to my own New Beginning in 2017. I ended 2016 exactly as I had planned to. On December 31, I ran the annual Resolution Run 5K in Calgary, Alberta, with a friend. Despite the classic Canadian winter weather we experienced during the run, we enjoyed ourselves immensely (and enjoyed our post-race burgers too, yum!) It truly was a fantastic way to finish off our year in fitness and it set me up for my New Beginning! January 1 - Day 1: My plan was to wake up early and successfully complete a long distance run (16K) outdoors as part of my Hypothermic Half Marathon training. Unfortunately, over six inches of snow fell overnight, and it was next to impossible to safely run outdoors without risking life and limb. So, in a quick change of plans, I decided to go to the gym to run on the treadmill... Only to discover that the gym was closed, as it was New Year's Day... On the first day of my New Beginning, I was down and out.
In the days following, one thing after another began to fall out of place. Planned workouts did not happen (for a variety of reasons). I kept forgetting to log my nutrition (another goal set for 2017). I was not finding the time or motivation to plan or prepare healthy meals as I had intended to. The weather was cold, the roads were icy, my house was a mess, and plans changed again and again. And then, as the icing on my New Beginning cake, so to speak, both of my little ones (and then my husband!) were hit hard with nasty cases of the flu. My attempts to get our family back to our normal routines after the Christmas holidays became utterly futile. My Christmas tree was still up in my living room long past New Years Day. I was unmotivated, and living from moment to moment frustrated and defeated. My New Beginning had been derailed. I was disappointed, even depressed, about the fact that my New Beginning seemed a total bust. After some intense reflection, however, I realised that the real problem with my New Beginning was my overall plan from the start. There was a sheer lack of grace in my New Beginning plans from the get-go! I needed grace for myself, for my loved ones, and for the circumstances in my life, in order for this New Beginning to truly succeed. People say, "If you fail to plan, you should plan to fail." Indeed, this is a harsh reality. What is also essential to realise is that circumstances beyond your control (including, but not limited to, illness, scheduling conflicts, and inclement weather) likely WILL derail your New Beginning plans at some point or another. It is inevitable. Life happens! What I have realised is that it is key to not let these unforeseen circumstances derail the entire plan AS A WHOLE. If you build some grace into the plan from the start, and adjust your attitude accordingly, your overall plan can still succeed!
I have been harshly reminded of the fact that grace needs to be a part of my New Beginning plan -- From start to finish. If i find myself stricken with illness, I need to give myself grace and take the time to rest and recover. If bad winter driving conditions prevent me from attending a friend's birthday party, I need to find an alternative way to make that friend feel special. Perhaps I can create a custom photo book, or make alternate plans to celebrate at a later date. Though missing out on a special event is always disappointing, it should not mean that I cannot celebrate in some other way. Grace can be part of the plan from the beginning. The truth of the matter is that all plans need grace! We all need grace to realise that everything will not always work out. We are not always in control of the circumstances or the outcome of any given situation. Life, in fact, can often feel completely out of our control. All we DO have control over is how we adjust our attitude about these inevitable changes. We need grace to recognise that life does not have to be an all or nothing situation. Alternate arrangements can be made. Life can still be enjoyed in difficult circumstances. Enjoyed in different ways than we had originally envisioned, perhaps, but enjoyed none-the-less. New Beginnings can still be successful overall, even life knocks them off track! We just need to establish these New Beginning plans with a heavy dose of grace from the start! Wishing you all a wonderful New Year! And cheers to New Beginnings -- With plenty of grace built right in! Tara Antosh, Editor Hello Life Magazine

Tell us a bit about VIP Creators? VIP Creators is about living with no regrets. It’s about wanting it all and knowing you deserve it. It’s a journey of discovery, a place where it’s okay to be who you are: A driven, unapologetic dreamer. It’s about living a life of freedom.
What made you want to be where you are at today? I WAS TIRED OF EVERYONE TELLING ME I HAD TO PICK ONE THING." "
I had a burning desire to create and to redefine what tradition really meant. I wanted to empower each woman to bring meaning back to her every day. To stand up and let her voice be heard, to accomplish the extraordinary. Growing up, I had so many different interests. I was tired of everyone telling me I had to pick one thing. Truly, I wanted it all! VIP Creators is a platform for women who want it all and are proud to admit it.
what is in store for YOU in 2017? I am so ready for 2017! My focus for the year is expansion, significance and legacy. Everything I say yes to in my life must fall in to one of these three categories. I have so many exciting things planned. New programs, workshops, and a three-day VIP Luxury retreat! It is going to be a wonderful year!
Keep going every day in your business...
What keeps me motivated is the desire to create a life with no regrets. My mom passed away last January. A few days before she passed, I asked her if she could do anything, what would she do? She said she had done everything she had wanted to do. She had no regrets. There are so few people that can truly say that. I want to be one of those people. Life is short. I want to live my purpose every single day. I want to inspire and empower women. So often, as wives and mothers, we forget that at one time, we were little girls with big dreams. I want to not only remind women of their dreams, but show them how create the lifestyle of their dreams one step at a time.
How do you balance family life and work life? I don’t believe there is such thing as balance when you are living your purpose. VIP Creators is part of me, it’s part of my family. It has been created with love. VIP has been a work in progress for years. Every moment of my life has been preparing me for this. This is my legacy. My ultimate goal is to redefine tradition, to empower women, and to inspire. I want to be able to say “Yes, success was great… But significance is truly the answer.” I want my work to live on for generations.

Lindsay thank you so much for taking time out for me tonight. I have always been afraid to do any type of exercise other than walking. I always thought I couldn't do it. You helped me see tonight that I am stronger than I think I am and much more capable than I ever dreamed. Crying tears of joy this evening!" -- NH, Alabama "
Who inspires you? MY TWO DAUGHTERS……… simple! Research has proven that little girls have the most confidence at the age of nine. Their confidence decreases every year after that. My oldest daughter is eight-and-a-half years old. That alone pushes me! My girls were my inspiration to create My Signature Transformation Program. The ideas is that focusing on the inside will allow the outside transformation to take place. We, as moms, as women, and as a society, have a responsibility to our children to stop talking so negatively to OURSELVES about our own bodies. Our little people are always listening and we are shaping how they view themselves in the future. Body image, love or hate for ourselves, comes from within. We must stop making negative comments about how fat our butt looks in those jeans, or “jokingly not joking” saying things like "We cannot eat ice cream," because of the diet we are on. Our children are growing up in a world of unrealistic expectations - Photoshop images of ‘perfect’ bodies, celebrities telling them how to look and what to feel. We need to teach them, and lead by example, that being confident, strong and loving towards our own bodies is the only way to live.
How has the Hello Life Academy changed your perspective on being an online entrepreneur? I have been in the health and fitness industry for over 15 years. I have worked in box gyms, small boutique studios, and had my own studio. It was all OFFLINE, working with clients in the flesh. I knew I wanted to bring my business online, especially after the 4th city/country relocation, and having to say goodbye to many of my clients AGAIN. I was not sure how I could make as big of an impact online as I have proven offline. The Hello Life Academy helped me to shape my online vision. By joining the Academy, I was putting a lot of faith in the process. I trusted Megan right away, and knew we could make it work. I was still sceptical UNTIL I met all the women at the Intensive. We were instantly connected. We had only ever met online before that. It demonstrated the ability to connect and make solid relationships - All online. Being online also allows my connections to deepen and broaden beyond what I thought was possible. I have the ability to reach out on a more global scale. I have lived in England, in Australia, in Toronto, Ontario and in Calgary, Alberta. Now, I am able to work with clients from all over the world, instead of only people in the city I resided in.
Lindsay could see me, she was so motivating and part of me didn't want to let her down. So I gave it my all. I was sweating like crazy. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. She was meant to do this! — GB, Alberta, Canada "
Sexual wellness Coach & soon to be mom of THREE boys.....
Victoria Baitson
How are you feeling knowing you are going to be a mom to baby boy number THREE? Pregnancy wise, right now I am tired and itchy! This will be my third case of Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy. Itchiness in pregnancy can be normal, but if you are feeling like your itching is INTENSE and it started with the palm of your hands and bottoms of your feet, definitely ask your doctor or midwife to check your bile acids. I feel like going from two to three, will be less of a struggle than it was from one to two. My husband and I have always planned on having four little ones, and we are very fortunate and grateful for the family we have created together. What are you looking forward to the most about the new babe? I am looking forward to seeing if he is going to be more like my oldest, or the middle one, or a mix of both! I love seeing little personalities peeking out of infancy. I am a little nervous about taking care of a newborn again! I feel like I have forgotten so much in two and a half years! How do you think your boys will react to having a new baby brother? I know the oldest is VERY excited to meet the baby. He has been an awesome big brother already. I am not sure how the youngest now will feel about not being the baby any more though! .
