TEXTILE PROJECT
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
-Amalgamation of Indian Textiles.
This traditional attire is a mix of
hand tie and dye with block printing and patchwork. Indian Red & Indigo Blue are combined with Pastel Green to add a contemporary feel.
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
-Designing for the Fabric- THE KHADI
Khadi Fabric plays the hero for this ensemble. The texture and natural colour of the handloom fabric determines the layering in the
silhouette and style details of the garment like ruffles. The fluidity of the fabric and shape tie in well together for this Casual yet dressy outfit.

C O L O R P L A Y HAND-PAINTED ARTWORK WITH DIVERSE BRUSHSTROKES
Here is a classic example of art
meets design. Hand Painted abstract brush strokes are done on fabric. To go on top of it, hand embroidery techniques like running sticthes, mirror work and embellishments like yarns and sequins are used. It all comes together beautifully on a Shirt Jacket for any young women who wishes to enjoy a brunch or high tea.
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
-The Free Spirit (Contemporised Indian Embroidery)
The Free Spirit is a concept that explores the easy breezy Bohemian
Styles on the classic denim fabric. The indigenous Rabari Hand Embroidery Stitches are the key surface techniques. The motifs are natural and independant in their occurence. The idea is to juxtapose the BohoLook with the rugged casual, denim with intrictae hand embroidery.
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
-Nomadic Yarns
This surface techniquenis inspired by
different wall rugs. The amalgation of different colours and textures of yarns on a variety of fabric.
