The above picture was taken on 21st of May 1946 in front of Compol Building. The Jeep left Pretoria for the Bushveld. Note the dust jacket worn by the officer. They are travelling with blankets! No expensive Subsistence & Travel Claims in those days after the war. SAP- photo. 5

The “M” and “F” in the last verse refers to the “Mounted” or “Foot” abbreviation behind the force number of “old” policemen, in the days when there were only two branches in the South African Police, Foot and Mounted.
