We initiated this project by deconstructing a shoe, meticulously disassembling it into individual components which were then digitally documented. Departing from the conventional “IKEA” cataloging approach, I envisioned the shoe disintegrating from above, with each piece descending based on its weight. This approach allowed me to explore concepts of time, space, movement, and emotion.
The subsequent phase involved a case study on Afro-Futurism artist Rasheedah Phillips. This exploration culminated in a “cosplay” assignment, which significantly influenced the medium and style of the final presentation drawings.
WORM’S EYE VIEW PLAN Not To Scale
Remnants of the shoe pieces live within the final product, fading away in one drawing only to reappear in the next.

Monochronic. They come. To escape the construct of time. The social confinement of mind. The restriction of individuals to be one’s self. She leaves behind.
She walks with anxiety. A tunnel-vision. Not be able to tell time. Visions blur as she leaves behind the state of mind. With past behind, future unknown. Materials blend with lines. Lights bend to see what is ahead.
(1:00 PM-ish)
Reflect. She awaits the future, but dwells in the past.
Let go of schedule.
Let go of restrictions.
Let go of the irony of productivity.
Let go of the quote unquote Panacea we constantly search.
Move freely like the earth intended. Like the shifting of planes in distant memories.
Familiarity. To see what they left behind. A story of reflection. The slippage of lines, the faulting of time. Present, future, past shift of self in a space formed by recollections.
Clarity. To experience space, texture, mood. Defying the norm to see clearly. To think, reminisce, imagined.
(Dawn)
Relinquish. Liberated by merging of the past, future, present. Empowered.
(Sometime in the near future)
Time… No more.

Within this narrative, the sublime is a unique experience of grandeur and beauty folded within the technological and psychological forces that operate within three different levels of awareness of the preconscious, unconscious, and conscious mind. Within these states of the mind, the preconscious and unconscious mind occupy the spiritual connections to the intensity of space and form. The technical definition of the sublime is grandeur and beauty yet ironically originating from the same source. However, the sublime also referrers to dark and perhaps ominous ages. In creative pursuits it’s more an emphasis on the heavy weight of material, dark color, and the immensity of certain spatial relations. Within these abstract spaces are embedded subliminal messages that direct the subconscious through Classical forms that influence the behavior of the individual. Within the mind of the individual a renaissance of emotion and visceral awareness overwhelms the physical senses trouncing the conscious objectivity of the viewer.

Scale: HO 1:87 Scale
Physical Model
This final model stands at 10 feet tall. Construction time was 30 days from start to finish. All objects were a combination of found and made objects that are somewhat manipulated from its original form. The construction focused on a modular system that enabled for easy disassemble/assemble for transportation.

PROJECT VISION
The design concept of the food trade center embraces the principles of culture, innovation, attraction, sustainability, efficiency in logistics, and iconicity. Our approach for integrating these principles and to the overall organization of the site is inspired by ethos of traditional bamboo weaving, which combines disparate strands to form baskets of strength, functionality, and beauty. At the Food Basket Trade Center, different spaces, activities, architectural elements, and site conditions are interwoven to create a dynamic culinary and logistical hub that celebrates the art of food, drives progress, attracts diverse audiences, and contributes to a sustainable future.
