The Academic element combines office write up space and some lecture facilities positioned above the labs allowing natural light through the south faรงade.
Laboratories are planned in series with potential for future adaptation. These are 'black box' spaces, set into the slope, with good potential for heavier servicing, containment and isolation if required, thereby avoiding interference with other activities taking place in the building.

The shed or machine hall to the southeast will provide a 60m long, double height space for wind tunnels, water flumes and a loading/wet workshop space at its east end. Mezzanine floors can be added.
The tunnel element accommodates the hydro mechanics lab to the rear of the building in cool steady conditions.

As part of works being undertaken at the Boldrewood Campus, the Annex is to be refurbished to accommodate the Transport Research Group. The design was undertaken to be as cost effective as possible while meeting the requirements of the users groups and University Estates Team. As many existing internal elements were to be retained while updating the building to current university and British standards.

The building is designed to be a new landmark along the boulevard, and the Western faรงade of the building is parallel to it, giving it a strong public presence. Therefore the north west corner where these two facades intersect is of high importance and is the location of any signage or building artwork.
The building is positioned on the southern edge of the Judicial Urban Living Room. The straight edge of the building contains and de nes the square and is the appropriate main entrance to the building for the public.
The Palace of Justice is a key development in the Tirana masterplan as it borders not only the boulevard but also the Judicial Urban Living Room. This position has created two clear important facades, the West and North, which need to respond appropriately to their immediate surroundings.

The shear size and black box function of the building made it difficult to give the building a lot of active frontage. This harshness of this was lessened by integrating the existing parks landscaping in the design.
Weisbaden Trade Halle is a new build to place the existing exhibition hall in the historic city centre of Weisbaden. The project responds to its adjacent context in referencing the defined individual volumes of the town villas and civic buildings

BA III: The University HUB
Situated at the top of a main arterial road from Liverpool City centre, the design reaches out the city in regenerating this road with increased pedestrian routes and increased vegetation. The design then terminates this key right of way with a civic park which encourages the buildings threshold to blur.
This proposal for a University hub building between Liverpools four universities takes inspired firstly from the student protests in 2012, the scheme proposes a form of architecture which encourages students to become more active in university like. Including all of its various forms. The design all seeks to identify with the university financial cuts in designing a building which is flexible to all four universities current and future needs.

BA III: Furniture Competition
Sustainability and flexibly were key drivers for the project drawings inspiration from Japanese joinery and Cradle to cradle ideals. The pods are formed from recycled plywood and use two simple timber joints which require no tools for construction. Creating cheap to buy, low carbon, fully recyclable and Bio degradable study pods.
The proposal uses 8 standardized plywood components to for stack-able study pods. This is done hoping that students themselves will take an active role in shaping their study environment.
Designed in a One Week internal design project, this design proposes creating flexible demountable study pods find influence from the dynamic needs of university buildings.

Drawing influence from the Oxbridge model of collegiate housing, the design defines its self as a unique autonomous environment part of the boundary of the university campus. Contextualised with the city in materiality and massing, it sits quietly within its surroundings creating half hiding its dynamic internal spaces. It creates a network of environments which treats the learning process as a normal part of everyday life. Individual academic freedom as well as the opportunities for the exchange and growth of ideas is encouraged by an assortment of spaces from intimate window seats too communal courtyards.
