golfing on our awesome golf courses and supporting local businesses. Sherry hasn’t missed a Celebration weekend since 1986! Tiffany Maxey General manager of Sliderz Bar and Grill My name is Tiffany Maxey and I am not just running for Queen of the Decatur Celebration, but I want to lead the Celebration of Decatur. A lot of you know me as your hometown bartender and mother of 3, but I am so much more than that! I am Decatur born and raised. My passion is in helping others. In my line of work I’ve organized dozens of fundraisers raising thousands of dollars for various causes. I look forward to taking my skills citywide and becoming an ambassador for my hometown. King candidate Frank Whittington Owner and artist of Oakwood Tattoo I am currently a business owner here in Decatur. I am an artist and co-owner of Oakwood Tattoo. I have been tattooing in Decatur for over 15 years now. I have been fortunate enough that tattooing has taken me all over the United States and abroad. I have met some of my closest friends and seen some pretty amazing things along the way. But, nothing is quite like being at home in Decatur with my local clients and friends. I have 1 child whose name is Tristan and he is 19 years old and currently works at Donnie’s Homespun Pizza. When I’m not tattooing you can find me hanging out with my pals and working on motorcycles.
Justin Hampton African American scholars program coordinator for Eisenhower High school My name is Justin Hampton, a proud member of the Eisenhower High School faculty! I am a Chicago native, but no stranger to Central Illinois. I attended college at Valparaiso University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology with a minor concentration in Mathematical Science. However, after completing my bachelor’s degree, I moved to Champaign, IL where I attended the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, earning my Master’s degree in Atmospheric Science. Before moving to Decatur, I taught meteorology at Elmhurst College and Columbia College in the Chicago-metro area for 4 years. Transitioning from teaching college students to high school students has been quite the challenge, especially for someone who never considered being an educator. Despite this small dilemma, I truly believe that being an educator is a noble profession, and I cannot see myself doing anything else! I love working with young students and hope to impact them on a level that makes a difference in their life. I am a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., the first Greek-letter organization for African-American men. Being a member of this illustrious organization, as well as an educator, I have always strived to live up to our fraternity aims: “Many deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind.” Mike Queary Emergency room registered nurse St. Mary's Hospital
I am 29 years old and have been involved in healthcare for 12 years. I am a critical care nurse at St. Mary’s Emergency Department. I have been a Decatur Celebration chairman for 16 years and this is my 2nd year as Director of Operations for the Celebration. My father, Mike Queary, lived and breathed Decatur Celebration. I look forward to carrying on this Decatur Celebration legend’s legacy! Tim Vieweg Managing broker and owner of Vieweg Real Estate Married to his beautiful wife Lisa Vieweg, they have four children and eight grandchildren. Tim & Lisa were both raised in Mt. Zion. They enjoy residing in Decatur on basin 1 of Decatur Lake. Tim is a graduate of Decatur Christian School and currently serves on the Decatur Christian school board. Tim Vieweg has 30 years of experience with commercial and investment real estate. After over 8 years of investing in real estate, Tim got his real estate sales license in 1993 and has work with several real estate firms selling residential & commercial properties. In 2014, Tim opened his own office, VIEWEG REAL ESTATE, LLC, where he looks forward to offering his clients the same professional, confidential & enthusiastic work ethic as in the past. Whether your business is expanding, downsizing or just right-sizing, Tim specializes in matching your business with properties that fit your needs. Tim Vieweg, “YOUR Commercial Real Estate Agent”
Tony Piraino New product introduction system integration engineer for Motor Graders of Caterpillar Inc. Tony grew up in the community and always knew he wanted to come back to the area to work for Caterpillar after college. He is married to the love of his life, Ashley (Walker) Piraino, and they have two great kids together – Colton (6) and Isabelle (4). Tony is active in the community and his church and enjoys helping at his wife’s family business, Cedar Lake Gardens & Gifts. The extent of Tony’s political experience is being elected to be on Cerro Gordo’s school board for two terms, so getting the nod to be Decatur Celebration’s King would be a pretty big jump. He’s no stranger to the crown though as he was recently awarded a “Wing King” crown at Caterpillar for organizing a facility wide chicken wing eating contest to support the United Way. The Decatur Celebration King crown would look very nice next to his “Wing King” crown!

The Decatur Celebration is a great childhood memory for Rida. From dressing like her friends to funnel cakes and shrimp on a sticks. She continues to make memories like these with her son Qayden. Decatur is a part of who Rida is as a teacher, mother, and person. She would be honored to serve as the 2016 Decatur Celebration Queen! golfing on our awesome golf courses and supporting local businesses.
