The Swarm finished third in the USA Open state tournament then won the Class A USSSA state tournament, which qualified them for the national tournament, which starts next week.

“My girls have never done anything like this,” Coach Raper said. “They are excited. They actually hav a very good chance of really making a good showing, I believe.”

Raper said this team, especially the ones from Prairie County, have a good chance of doing well when they get to high school.

“This is my second group to bring up,” Raper said. “This group is light years ahead of the previous group. There isn’t a girl on this team who shouldn’t have a starting position in high school in ninth grade.”
