NMITE is a new higher education institution in Hereford, focused on providing a fresh approach to engineering and construction education. It aims to produce highly skilled, work-ready engineers through an innovative, hands-on, and immersive learning model. Unlike traditional universities, NMITE emphasizes real-world problem-solving, practical experience, and close industry collaboration from the very start of its programmes. Students at NMITE learn in small teams, working on real engineering challenges set by industry partners.
NMITE’s goal is to address the growing demand for engineers and construction professionals, particularly those equipped with the practical, creative, and problem-solving skills required to tackle modern challenges such as sustainability and technological innovation.
OVERVIEW OF THE PROGRAMME
Problem-solving Engineering
Hands-on learning
Our 'Young Engineers' program is tailored for international students aged 14 to 18 and is a collaborative initiative between NMITE (New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering) and Hereford Cathedral School.
This program provides students with the chance to explore engineering "the NMITE Way", focusing on hands-on learning, team-based problem-solving, and the real-world application of engineering principles.
In the English program, participants will gain valuable insights into the UCAS application process, equipping them with the knowledge necessary for pursuing higher education opportunities. It will also include English for Specific Purposes lessons, ensuring that learners can effectively communicate in academic and professional contexts.
During the days spent at NMITE for the engineering part of the programme, students will explore critical topics such as sustainable engineering practices, the intricacies of designing prototypes, and the importance of effective project presentation.
The course culminates in an exciting showcase where participants will present their innovative project work developed over the five-day course, allowing them to demonstrate their newfound skills and creativity.
The course also includes visits as part of the academic programme and also cultural visits at the weekend. English Classes
