OCEAN VICTORY OUR FLEET
ALL THE COMFORTS OF MODERN LUXURY
CRUISING - With a total of 93 comfortable and spacious staterooms for our guests, all with an unobstructed panoramic view of the ocean, most with their own balcony, two restaurants, a wellness area including a heated swimming pool, two jacuzzis, spa, Albatros Nordic Bar and a modern lecture lounge, this ship truly caters for all the needs of today’s explorers.
A VESSEL SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO OPTIMIZE THE EXPEDITION EXPERIENCE
- The patented X-bow offers a more comfortable sailing journey and helps to prevent passengers’ discomforts, particularly when crossing the notorious Drake passage! It also helps to keep our speed and planned expedition schedule on rough seas. As a side benefit, the X-bow design means our guests are able to enjoy an unobstructed view when standing on the observation platforms, and ultimately brings them closer to birds and wildlife.
COMFORT CLASS MEANS LESS NOISE & VIBRATION
- The Ocean Victory & Albatros are ‘comfort class’ certified vessels, meaning they operate with the industry’s lowest noise and vibration levels.
ONE OF THE MOST ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY VESSELS
- Albatros Travel received its first sustainable travel award back in 1995, before most others even knew what ‘sustainability in travel’ meant. The Ocean Victory builds on Albatros Travel’s history of innovation in sustainable travel. The vessels are also ‘clean-ship-certified’ and carry tier-3 compliant engines. Not only does this make them the least polluting engines in the world, but also results in lower emissions than traditional expedition vessels. The engines of both ships also only use light fuels (MGO).
OCEAN ALBATROS
EXPERIENCE THE HEIGHT OF CONTEMPORARY LUXURY CRUISES - With 94 expansive and cozy staterooms designed for our guests, each affording an uninterrupted, sweeping vista of the sea. The majority of these accommodations are accompanied by private balconies. Additionally, revel in the presence of several bars, alluring lounges, and a state-of-the-art lecture hall. OCEAN ALBATROS IN ANTARCTICA & THE ARCTIC FROM 2023 - Ocean Albatros, just like its sister vessel, Ocean Victory, is a revolutionary and stylish cruise ship that combines the advantages of a small expedition vessel with the stability and comfort of a larger cruise ship. With
a maximum capacity of 175 passengers, this compact design ship offers an intimate atmosphere with great personal service featuring a 1:8 guide-to-guest ratio - one of the best in our industry. It is easy to avoid crowds and queues, but at the same time, this vessel offers the stability and smooth ride of a bigger ship with all the luxury comforts of today.
THE TECHNICAL DETAILS - With the highest Polar Code 6 and Ice Class 1A, Ocean Victory & Albatros are the ideal vessels for small-ship expedition cruising due to their sturdy construction and X-Bow®- Infinity class. It provides high stability in rough weather and allows for the smoothest movements on high waves, aand a Solas classification including all ‘Safe Return to Port’ safety features. OUR FACILITIES
OBSERVATION PLATFORMS & BIRD’S-EYE VIEW
ENRICH YOUR EXPEDITION WITH SPACIOUS OBSERVATION AREAS - The Ocean Victory and Albatros vessels prioritize the ultimate expedition encounter through well-located observation decks. These decks afford extensive, unimpeded spaces that guarantee the finest vantage points for witnessing polar landscapes.
Our ships redefine the expedition journey with swift zodiac embarkation procedures and exceptional observation zones, inclusive of distinctive hydraulic platforms and ample observation deck expanse. Guests are invited to relish the breathtaking Deck 9 viewing platform along with forward-positioned hydraulic observation platforms.
These features seamlessly bring our guests into closer proximity to the grandeur of unspoiled nature by providing enhanced, more intimate, and wholly unobstructed panoramas of icebergs, avian life, and marine giants, allowing them to immerse themselves in the splendor of untouched wilderness. These unique features make the Infinity class vessels stand out from any other expedition ships. The combination of zero-speed stabilizers, dynamic positioning (“virtual anchoring”), and 5 zodiac loading platforms mean that our guests can be in their zodiacs faster than any other ship of comparable size. Not only will guests have more time to enjoy exploring off the ship, but also we can react faster to unexpected wildlife encounters.
“The next infinity class vessels delivered from a series of newbuilds, offer a one-of-a-kind and complete immersive experience. Technologically advanced, with a unique design and beautiful European interiors, these vessels remain true to what Expedition Cruising should be all about.”

OUR FACILITIES
A FEAST FOR YOUR SENSES
OUR CAREFULLY DESIGNED MENU IS CURATED FOR THE BEST DINING EXPERIENCE, WITH A FOCUS ON FRESHNESS AND DIVERSITY.
Onboard Ocean Victory and Ocean Albatros, you will find kitchen professionals and chefs who take great pride in creating gastronomic experiences, satisfying your tastebuds. When the first explorers began their undertakings, they had little choice and even less variety in their nourishment options in their diet. Dining at the some of the remotest parts of the world was not a delicacy, but a duty necessary for survival. Luckily for us, today is another story. Meals are served in our bright and spacious restaurants, surrounded by wonderful views.
Dinner always starts with delicious hot soups, cold cuts and crisp, fresh salads. Several choices of entrées are offered each evening. To accommodate different tastes and dietary requirements, guests can choose from a selection of meat, fish and vegetarian options.
After dinner, freshly prepared desserts, including shipmade ice cream or cakes… A great way to end a meal and satisfy any sweet tooth!
“The main restaurant on both Ocean Victory and Ocean Albatros provides a delightful blend of à la carte and buffet choices. Additionally, both ships boast a top-deck Panorama Restaurant, where guests can enjoy a delicious and exciting tasting experience with meals cooked directly at their table on hot lava rocks.”
- Cæcilie Willumsgaard, Board Member of Albatros Expeditions

LECTURES & WORKSHOPS
Due to our passion for knowledge and the world around us, lectures are an essential part of Albatros Expeditions’ voyages in the Polar Regions. These are vulnerable places due to the growing number of visitors and we therefore offer a broad range of enrichment lectures and workshops so our guests not only have transformative experiences but also learn about relevant topics such as wildlife, environment and history, navigation, photography, geology or glaciology, culture and much more!
Zodiac boats are not only used for shuttling guests to/from land. Zodiac cruising is a great way to venture out and get even closer to some of the magnificent sights during your voyage. It is also great for wildlife spotting and for taking in the dramatic sights from up close. The Zodiac boats are perfect for cruising around in the Polar Regions, giving you the chance to see the world from a new and spellbinding point of view.
For the brave guests, the polar plunge is a beloved activity. Jump into the ice-cold water for a refreshing sensation with absolute bragging rights when returning home. The ship’s crew and expedition team ensure the safety of the guests. All participants receive a polar plunge certificate to show off and proudly remember their bravery.

WE WILL COMPLY WITH ALL APPLICABLE LAWS REGARDING HUMAN RIGHTS, THE ENVIRONMENT, AND CORRUPTION, AND APPLY INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED PRINCIPLES WHEN LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS SET LOWER STANDARDS.
Sustainability and eco-tourism have always been important aspects of the Albatros Travel Group identity. Our vessels, Ocean Victory and Ocean Albatros were built with consideration towards the environment and have the lowest carbon emission per passenger in the expedition cruise industry.
Albatros Expeditions is proud to be a supporting and active member of both the Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators (AECO) and the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO). These two member organizations exist to advocate and promote the practice of safe and environmentally responsible private-sector travel to the Polar Regions. Members challenge each other to do better and have minimal impact on these fragile environments.
In effort to keep our oceans clean and as unpolluted as possible, we have initiated a green initiative onboard our Albatros Expedition cruises.
To reduce chemicals released into the ocean and lower the energy used onboard, the washing of towels and bed linens is reduced, and all laundry chemicals used are biodegradable. We only use phosphate free and eco-friendly cleaning products.
All single use plastic items, such as disposable cups, stirrers and straws have been eliminated, paper cups can be used when requested and only reusable mugs and regular glassware are used for BBQs and special events. Paper straws are available upon request. Instead of individual packages for condiments, yogurt, jam or butter, we provide small bowls and a butter pot for each table, unless health and safety regulations require otherwise.
Single use and plastic items in bathrooms have been replaced by wall-mounted dispensers to eliminate waste, and only biodegradable products are used. All garbage created in work areas is separated, and trash bins in the cabins can be requested to separate paper products. We are implementing recycling stations in key public areas for the use of our guests. We only serve sustainable seafood with the MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) logo to ensure the purchase of

ANTARCTICA
An experience like nowhere else on Earth
AN EXTRAORDINARY ADVENTURE TO THE SOUTHERNMOST PART OF THE WORLD BRINGS FORTH COLOSSAL ICEBERGS, UNBELIEVABLE SEASCAPES, AND THE UNPREDICTABLE NATURE THAT POLAR EXPLORERS SPENT THEIR LIVES TRYING TO CONQUER.
TO EXPERIENCED TRAVELERS, ANTARCTICA IS THE CRÈME DE LA CRÈME WHEN IT COMES TO EXPLORING, NOT JUST BECAUSE OF ITS REMOTE LOCATION, ITS DIFFICULT ACCESS AND CHALLENGING TEMPERATURES, BUT ALSO BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY NON-INHABITED CONTINENT ON OUR BELOVED PLANET. APART FROM SMALL RESEARCH STATIONS, THE CONTINENT IS EMPTY, EVEN NOW WHILE SOME OTHER AREAS OF EARTH ARE OVER POPULATED.
AN ICY WONDERLAND at the end of the world, which for many centuries wasn’t explored and became the subject of admiration and obsession of the first world expeditioners, Antarctica only acquired its official name in the 1800s, a Romanized version of its Greek title, which actually means ‘opposite to the North’.
For some experienced travelers, Antarctica is the crème de la crème when it comes to exploring the world, not just because of its remote location, its difficult access and challenging temperatures, but also because it is the only non-inhabited continent on our planet.
Antarctica has no indigenous population and there is no evidence that it was seen by humans until the 19th century. The many expeditions aiming to be the first to reach the South Pole in the 1900s provide us with stories of survival and wondrous adventures worthy of high acclaim in the history books.
Although this vast stretch of the planet remains the stuff of distant dreams for many, its mysterious nature, it is reachable due to the reduction in sea ice during the summer months, which our strong, ice-classed expedition vessels, Ocean Victory and Albatros can easily maneuver, ensuring we get close to the dramatic coastlines.
Zodiac cruising and shore landings are an important and considerable part of the planned itinerary, enabling all expedition guests to set foot on the Antarctic continent, as well as the many surrounding sub-Antarctic islands.
Can you visualize the splendor of the coldest continent appearing before your eyes? With its mighty tabular icebergs, it is a sight like no other. Not only will we cross the in-
famous Drake Passage, but we will also have the opportunity to witness the white shimmer of Antarctica looming on our horizon, the presence of wildlife multiplying by tens of thousands with many species of lively penguins, inquisitive seals, nesting birds and the spray of whales. The sub-Antarctic and Antarctic islands are a nature photographer’s paradise.
Antarctica’s beauty exceeds everything imaginable. Vastly different from the Arctic, 98% of the Great White Continent is covered in ice with glaciers, smooth ice-sheets and iceshelves. Crisp white icebergs and deep blue seas, flank the barren, rocky coastlines, which are home to moss, lichens, liverworts and even two small flowering plants – the Antarctic pearl wart and Antarctic hair grass. The sub- Antarctic islands and Falklands have tundra-like landscapes.
Due to the harsh climate, there are no terrestrial mammals, yet a plethora of wildlife still call Antarctica home – at least in the warmer summer months when temperatures hover just above freezing! The prolific birdlife, penguin colonies and marine mammals, such as whales and seals, provide rewarding wildlife observation.
There will typically be crisp, autumn-like weather in Patagonia and the Falkland Islands, and near-freezing temperatures on the Antarctic Peninsula. Antarctica is a frozen desert where winds shape the surface of snow and ice, and average annual precipitation is only 10 cm.
By the time you return home from this remarkable journey, your perspective of our planet will have changed forever, and we are certain that the sights and experiences of this trip will find a special place in your heart.

LOOKING FOR EXCITEMENT? A TRUE EXPEDITION EXPERIENCE? Departing Argentina’s southernmost city of Ushuaia, we cross the mighty Drake Passage en-route to the South Shetland Islands, aiming to arrive on the afternoon of the third day of our voyage (weather permitting).
Continuing southward from the South Shetland Islands, we will delve deeper into the inlets and bays of the Antarctic Peninsula, entering the famous Gerlache Strait, where glittering ice cliffs and precipitous peaks rise straight out of the frigid water. Icebergs, glaciers, mountains and rugged snowfields characterise this wildly beautiful alien landscape.

On no other journey can you experience so much pristine nature and varied wildlife in such a short time. Our skilled Captain and Expedition Leader will work hard to maximise opportunities to explore the White Continent. While wind, sea and ice conditions will dictate the exact locations we will visit, we will make Zodiac landings to allow guests to set foot on land and experience penguin rookeries, research stations and historical sites, and aim to Zodiac cruise in scenic areas filled with giant icebergs, whales and seals.

This voyage has no set itinerary beyond the aim to reach the Circlehowever, we always aim to visit locations which showcase the best of Antarctica; wildlife sightings and weather conditions will decide the exact sites we visit as we move with the rhythms of nature; perhaps a well known penguin colony will draw us west, and whale and seal sightings will draw us back again!

ON THESE EXTRAORDINARY 18 or 19-DAY VOYAGES, follow in the wake of the courageous explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton to Antarctica and the South Shetlands before heading via Antarctic Sound, Weddell Sea and Elephant Island to South Georgia. We will explore the Antarctic Sound with its mighty tabular icebergs and enter the Weddell Sea in search for Adelie and Emperor penguins.
Sailing onwards between South Georgia and Elephant Island offers a small glimpse into the passage made famous by Shackleton 100 years ago, when he navigated the 1300km course through open seas of the Drake Passage in an effort to save his stranded crew. Active research stations, former whaling stations, a visit to Shackleton’s final resting place and visiting the largest King penguin colonies are on our agenda.
The sub-Antarctic and Antarctic islands are a nature photographer’s paradise and we will attempt as many shore landings as possible per day, weather conditions permitting, bringing you close to Antarctica’s beauty.

Home to only a few hardy humans, the western Falklands hold vast colonies of penguins and albatross, as well as a host of seals, dolphins and often whales. From here, we will visit Stanley, the small but perfectly formed capital of the islands. With a distinctly British vibe, Stanley is a unique city offering a warm local welcome, along with excellent shopping, museums, and pubs.
From the Falklands, we will venture off the edge of the map to the saw-toothed peaks of South Georgia, a wildlife paradise which needs little introduction. Holding vast rookeries of nesting penguins, squabbling seals and screeching seabirds, this ‘Galapagos of the South’ must be seen to be believed. Marvel at this island’s breathtaking wildlife, jaw-dropping scenery, and fascinating history.
After several relacing days at sea, we will arrive in Montevideo, the hip bustling capital of Uruguay, where this spectacular voyage concludes.
THE DESTINATIONS ARCTIC
In search of the perfect Arctic Experience...
HAVE YOU ALWAYS DREAMED OF VISITING THE POLAR REGIONS? IF YOU’RE TOYING WITH THE IDEA OF FOLLOWING IN THE STEPS OF THE FIRST EXPLORERS AND FINALLY VISITING THESE REMOTE, SPELLBINDING LOCATIONS, WE WILL HELP YOU DECIDE WHERE TO GO.
UNFORGETTABLE LANDSCAPES, PRISTINE AIR CONDITIONS, CLOSE SIGHTINGS OF ARCTIC WILDLIFE SUCH AS POLAR BEARS, ARCTIC FOXES AND SEALS, OR THE OPPORTUNITY TO WITNESS THE MAGNIFICENT BEAUTY OF A GLACIER IN ALL ITS SPLENDOR ARE ONLY SOME OF THE REASONS WHY OUR GUESTS WOULD DREAM OF VISITING THE ARCTIC.
UNFORGETTABLE LANDSCAPES, pristine air conditions, close sightings of the Arctic wildlife such as polar bears, arctic foxes and seals, or the opportunity to witness the magnificent beauty of a glacier in all its splendor, are only some of the reasons why someone would dream of visiting the Arctic.
Other reasons to visit, often described by our guests, include the dream of seeing one of the most remote areas of the world, witnessing the current state of the Arctic regions, its species and wildlife and how they are adapting to the constant changes of the planet, learning about the history and exploring the rich and diverse cultures of the North, and of course, seeing the northern lights.
Whatever reason you are considering for visiting the Arctic, here at Albatros Expeditions we are happy to help you design your perfect adventure. Our team of experts in the field is constantly researching and developing new routes, programs and activities, to ensure we provide each of our guests with the dream holiday you will always look back on fondly.
Our Arctic expedition cruises touch three fascinating islands: Greenland – an enormous 2,175,600 km² island where 80% is an ice sheet fringed by fjords, Svalbard – an archipelago known for its large population of polar bears, and Iceland – an island of magnificent natural phenomena, featuring Reykjavik’s exciting mini-metropolis.
From whale sightings to bird watching, Arctic wildlife can truly be admired from so many different vantage points. Our ex-
pedition cruise from Reykjavík to Kangerlussuaq will allow you to experience Iceland’s immensity of impressive land and sea scapes, the ever-present Northern fulmar sea bird, and a multitude of otherwise inaccessible settlements in both Iceland and Greenland, including modern Inuit communities.
From around April to August, the summer’s midnight sun bathes Greenland, Svalbard and Iceland in sunlight, increasing the average daily temperatures to comfortable, crisp conditions. If your journey continues to Oslo or Copenhagen, expect warmer days with a mixture of sunshine, rain and refreshing breezes.
During the short summer, wildlife such as reindeer are busy amassing energy for the icy polar winter. These are excellent months to visit if you enjoy photography and activities such as kayaking and hiking.
We also offer an early summer’s cruise from the green islands of Scotland and North Atlantic to the Arctic islands of Jan Mayen and Svalbard. We will go north together with the migrating birds, and hopefully spot polar bears hunting from the sea ice in 24-hours of daylight.
We hope that these pointers have helped you visualize where to set sail to on your next journey. Whichever location you visit will be a remarkable memory you’ll forever cherish, and who knows, may keep you coming back for more Arctic experiences.

SVALBARD - THE LAST STOP BEFORE THE NORTH POLE
of Svalbard on this Arctic adventure cruise among whales, walruses, polar bears and millions of sea birds. Experience high summer in the Arctic with Ocean Albatros.
One of the goals of this Albatros expedition is to sail as close as possible to the pack ice north of Svalbard - the polar bear´s favorite summer residence. How far north we reach and the exact route up there will depend on the ice conditions. Additionally, we will visit several of the amazing locations along the west coast of Svalbard, all kept navigable by the warm Gulf Stream.
During the short summer, wildlife such as reindeer and polar foxes are busy amassing energy for the icy polar winter. The cliffs shimmer with life as every surface is populated with countless birds, and in a few months a new generation of Arctic sea birds are ready to leave their nests. Arctic guillemots, black guillemots and razorbills can be observed fishing in the wake of our ship. ALBATROS TRAVEL GROUP IS BRINGING SCANDINAVIAN QUALITY TO ADVENTURES AROUND THE WORLD
We are a Scandinavian-born, family-owned tour operator with a global wingspan. Our company was established in 1986 by Søren Rasmussen, who is chairman today and his wife and children all work in the company’s management team. As a young biologist with an appetite for exploring the world, Søren traveled to Africa and was completely captivated by the fantastic wildlife, spectacular scenery and the unique cultural environment. He founded the company to share his passion for Africa and started by sending guests on tented safaris in Kenya.
Søren has always emphasized that all products should be build from scratch with deep attention to detail, leading to full control over the customer’s travel experience. Today, this success is achieved through subsidiaries and by owning several hotels, bush camps, bus companies and cruise ships.
Even though safaris were initially the main product, when Albatros Travel started as a company in 1986, the product range quickly expanded into other exotic destinations around the world.
Another natural expansion was the establishment of a new office in Kenya where the fascination for travel and adventure all began. We have since expanded our Africa operation, under the brand Albatros Africa, with two more offices. One in Tanzania, where we have a tented bush camp and an office in South Africa, where we have 3 bush camps, a nature reserve with 4 country lodges and a bus company.
Additionally, we also started growing our core activities in the Nordics, where we are now the market leader within the group travel category in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. All of these operations are conducted out of our headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.
When Søren went to Svalbard in the Arctic region for the first time in 1995, he was completely taken with it. This resulted in extensive travelling and exploration of the Polar Regions, and eventually the acquisition of several hotels in Greenland and a bus company under the brand Albatros Arctic Circle. Søren also invested in five cruise ships suitable for polar exploration. In 2017, Albatros Expeditions was established to handle our cruise operations to these regions.
With the desire to expand the range of adventure travels and to reach new target groups, we came up with the idea of an extreme marathon on the Chinese wall, and thus “The Great Wall Marathon” was founded in 1999. This was the beginning of many more fascinating marathons around the world from our Albatros Adventure Marathons team.
Corporate Social Responsibility
TRAVEL WITH HEART, MIND AND SPIRIT
Albatros Travel Group has always focused on sustainability and accountability. Since the beginning of the 90’s, Albatros has experimented with sustainable forms of travel, which led to a focus on nature protection and responsible behavior on the destinations. Our approach is to focus on the areas, where we can make the greatest direct positive impact in the local regions. In return, we also receive goodwill from the local communities. We are not philanthropists, but we are dedicated to making a difference.
KARM MARG is an organization that operates an orphanage in Faridabad outside Delhi for 60 children aged 4 to 18. The organization attaches great importance to the children becoming self-reliant. The older children, together with approx. 100 women from the local area, learn how to make environmentally friendly products for selling. Albatros supports Karm Marg by buying their fabric bags as a gift for all our guests in India. Our guests do not visit this orphanage, but they are informed about the organization and can support it by donating their remaining rupees after the tour.
WELVERDIEND is a small village close to Albatros’ two safari camps, Khoka Moya and Mantobeni. Many of the camp’s employees come from the local village and we educate them within the field of hotel service. We work closely with the village and have several times supported the village schools with new books and electronic teaching equipment. We have also built a new school building with room for a library and a computer room.
ANIMAL WELFARE is a priority for Albatros. We are involved in various nature conservation and research projects. We wish for wild animals to roam freely in nature, and therefore our travels do not have excursions, or similar activities where wild animals would be used for unnatural entertainment. We are currently placing emphasis on the protection of endangered rhinoceros in the areas around our camps. Here, we provide support like extra ranger monitoring and patrolling. We are also co-founders of the first rhino orphanage.
