26.2 With DONNA the National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer

As the only marathon in the U.S. devoted to breast cancer and care, the DONNA Marathon Weekend is held each February. Proceeds from the event benefit The DONNA Foundation and Mayo Clinic to continue working to find a cure for breast cancer. CNN has named the race as one of the “Seven Marathons Worth the Trip.” Each year the event draws thousands of runners from all over the nation and even other countries. This race also qualifies runners for the Boston Marathon.

Ameris Bank Jacksonville Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K

This race will guide runners through Mandarin and along the St. Johns River. Known as the oldest race in Jacksonville, runners have the option of running a marathon, half-marathon or 5K. Runners are also eligible for the next two Boston Marathons if they quality.

Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville Buddy Walk

www.dsaj.org Enjoy the beauty of Jacksonville Beach during this annual one-mile walk. The walk raises awareness and education about Down syndrome, working with local and national organizations. After working up a sweat, relax during the celebration filled with rides, live music, carnival games and delicious food trucks.

Fight for Air Climb

www.lung.org For those daredevils, the Fight for Air Climb may be the perfect charity walk for you. This walk raises money for those affected by lung disease. It is hosted by the American Lung Association and allows participants to climb a skyscraper with the reward of one of the best views in Jacksonville.

www.1stplacesports.com The largest 15K in the nation is held right here on the First Coast. It also pairs with the Florida Times-Union 5K for Charity and Brooks Rehabilitation Challenge Mile. Children can also participate in the Junior River Run 1 Mile or the Diaper Dash.

Katie Ride for Life

www.katiecaples.org This cycling and walking event raises awareness and funds for more than 125,000 people who need organ transplants. The event takes place on Amelia Island, offering both walking and cycling events of different distances and courses allowing for any experience level to take part.

Light the Night Walk

Never Quit 5K and 10K

St. Augustine Half Marathon

Walk For Wishes

www.wish.org Make-A-Wish works to grant wishes for children diagnosed with a critical illness. More than 300,000 wishes have previously been granted. Help raise funds and honor those children affected by illnesses at this event in Metropolitan Park.
