To My Husband in Heaven
Each day I miss you more As I picture you at the kitchen table Or coming through the front door... I miss our talks and the special way that you would always understand, I miss the closeness that we shared and how you’d hold my hand. My love is always with you Even though you went away; I find myself looking back daily To so many happy days! But I have been a real trooper Trying to be the best I can; Just know that even from Heaven You’ll always be my man. Your Loving Wife, Romonda

Memories of You Granddad
To Our Precious Son
It’s been the hardest thing to lose you You meant so much to me But you are in my heart, Granddad And that’s where you’ll always be. I know that Heaven called you But I wish you could have stayed At least the memories I have of you They will never fade. I did not want to lose you But you did not go alone Because a part of me went with you When Heaven called you home. So just remember one thing We are not apart, You’re with me in my memories And in my broken heart.
Although our worlds are different now Or is that just how it seems For we see you when we close our eyes Because you’re always in our dreams.
From Your Grandchildren
We know you’re up in Heaven Looking down peacefully And when we look up at the stars We know that’s where you’ll be. Our time on Earth was special But it’s only the very start So, please keep watching over us While we’re not so far apart. Someday the time will come When we no longer feel this pain That is the day when Heaven calls And we will meet again. From Your Parents
To Our Brother with Love
The Broken Chain
The day you left and gained your wings Our hearts just broke in two We wish you could have stayed with us But Heaven needed you.
We little knew the day that It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn’t go alone For part of us went with you The day God called you home.
You left us with the memories And we love you dearly still No matter how much time goes by You know…we always will. You were a very special person With kindness in your heart And the love we had together Grows stronger now that we’re apart From Your Siblings
You left us peaceful memories Your love is still our guide And though we cannot see you You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same But as God calls us one by one The chain will link again. From Your Children
Life Reflections

May 15, 1967 was an amazing day. The earth shook…the angels sang! It was the day that Herbert Lockett, Jr. was born to Mr. Herbert Lockett, Sr. and Mrs. Lola Lockett in Memphis, Tennessee. He was raised in Red Banks, Mississippi, where he dedicated his life to Christ at a young age as a member of the Church of Christ in Red Banks, Mississippi. On September 26, 2019, the angels went silent…the trumpets faded…and the earth was still when Herbert was called home. Whether you called him Herbert, Herb, Lockett, Pops, or Big Loc, you knew his true passion was creating beautiful lawns and landscaping design. His third love was the city of New Orleans, his favorite destination above all others. Once a year, Herbert and Romonda went to “the big easy” to liassez les bon temps rouler, enjoying good times, good food, and fun that they looked forward to every year! Herbert excelled in the band at SanFlat High School. He became a member of the Grand Masonic Lodge in 1996, which is also the year that he started his extraordinary career with Carrier Corporation. During his twenty-three years of service, he formed life-long friendships, mentored hundreds of people, motivated and inspired all who knew him. Herbert’s compassion and love for every human being was genuine, honest, and beyond compare. As an employee at Carrier, Herbert worked in several positions, but he was most proud to achieve the level of Fin Press Operating Lead. He was preceded in death by his brother, Agenon “Andrew” Lockett. Herbert leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life, his wife, Romonda Lockett of Olive Branch, Mississippi; his parents, Herbert Sr. and Lola Lockett of Red Banks, Mississippi; one son, Hebert A. Lockett of Atlanta, Georgia; two daughters: Paige A. Lockett of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Mya E. Watson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two stepsons: Marvel Johnson and Keshun Sessom; two stepdaughters: Montoria Swindle (Kirk) and LaQuiesha Love; five grandchildren: Torrian, Toriyana, Treasure, Tristen, and Raygan – all of Memphis, Tennessee; three sisters: Belinda Liggins (Arthur) of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Sherie Handy (Herb) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tawanda Williams-Harris (Willie) of Memphis, Tennessee; three brothers: Cedric Lockett of Memphis, Tennessee, Stephen Lockett, Sr. (Teresa) of Red Banks, Mississippi, and Haywood Hearns of Memphis, Tennessee; two brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, and a host of other relatives and close friends who will cherish his amazing legacy forever. As a father, his children know that they meant the world to him. As a grandfather, “Paw Paw” was their favorite. As a friend and confidant, he was trusted and respected. As a husband, he was loving and protective. As a son and brother, he was responsible and reliable. To God and Heaven above, we pray that he has always been known as His son. We pray that he has gone to that place prepared for him. We know that God is a good and forgiving God, an Almighty God who makes no mistakes.
