Remembering Frank...

Willie Frank Hughes was born June 29, 1948, to the late Eugene and Gladys Hughes. He confessed a hope in Christ at the age of twelve at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Piperton, Tennessee. With diligence and valor, he served as a member of the choir and as a faithful deacon. He later joined the New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where he passionately served on the Usher Board making members & visitors feel welcome in the house of the Lord. Frank graduated from Melrose High School in 1966 and joined the United States Army. He continued to serve his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard Reserves. He worked as a Security Officer for the Clifford Davis Federal Building for a number of years and retired from the United States Postal Service. In 1972, he united in Holy Matrimony with the late Helen Johnson-Hughes. They built a wonderful life together and traveled to many places. They also enjoyed making meaningful memories with family and friends by hosting social gatherings. Frank departed this life on February 18, 2021. He will be remembered most for his faithful service to his church, his devout love for family holidays! To cherish his legacy, he leaves a son, Giuliani Edward Rubin; one Brother, Larry Hughes (Wilma); one sister, Debra G. Reed (Paul), a dear aunt, Bonnie Hudson; three nieces: Adrianne Fleming, Sabrina Walker, and Erica Hughes; three nephews: Michael Hughes, Brandon Reed, and Brian Reed; godchildren: Byron D. Walls, LaToja D. Walls, Martavius Jones, Herbert Kneeland, Jr., Kyra Banks (Gabe), and Pat Dixon III, and a host of other relatives and friends whose lives he impacted in a loving way.
