Herodoto F Bento-DeMello
Adjunct professor and researcher at Center-Western Parana State University, Brazil. My research areas are Education in Computing and Computing in Education, which I approach from the perspective of the Biology of Knowing - a theoretical framework developed by Humberto Maturana, a chilean neurobiologist, who realizes the cognition process as the personal transformation process which enables a living being to survive in its relations within the environment. Currently, I'm performing my post-doc researches at the Santa Catarina Federal University (UFSC) where I've been leading a cooperative effort to develop a professional certification in the software engineering area aimed to be used by JEDI (Java Education and Development Initiative) . JEDI is supported by DFJUG a non-governmental organization which currently offers software engineering training for more than 30,000 students in the sphere of "The Community of Portuguese Language Countries" thru e-learning.
