Avanti Grange

A brand-new school fit out

Avanti Grange Secondary School opened temporarily in September 2022 on the top floor of the Avanti Meadows Primary school.

The school is part of the Avanti Trust and will be a non-faith, mixed school built on three core principles: educational excellence, character formation and spiritual insight.

Debbie Power, Sales Manager worked with the Head Teacher to kit out the top floor of the Bishop’s Stortford Primary school temporarily until the permanent new site for Avanti Grange Secondary school opens in September 2023. Initially the Secondary school has opened to year 7 students and will be expanded to all ages when the permanent site opens.

The temporary Secondary school includes 6 classrooms, a library, first aid room and staff areas. The classrooms are furnished with colourcoordinated furniture such as lockers, storage units, tables and chairs which will be repurposed in the new state of the art site in 2023.

A key part of the brief was ensuring furniture was both movable and practical across the temporary and the new permanent site.

HFS delivered new dining tables and benches to compliment the style of the existing Primary setting. When moving to the new site the school have opted for bistro tables that provide a more mature and modern look.

From supplying the furniture, yoga mats and resources to table tennis tables, our Sales Manager coordinated multiple suppliers to deliver and install before the new school term.

Working with Herts FullStop was a fantastic and supportive experience. Being able to purchase ‘off the shelf’ and bespoke products from one supplier simplified the whole process considerably.  Our Sales Manager was dedicated and available via email or phone which allowed decisions and alterations to be made quickly with the minimum of hassle.

We are delighted with the products and the end result in our new school. We will definitely be using Herts FullStop again in the future!

Hertswood Academy

Revamp Reception Area & Year 13 classroom

Hertswood Academy is a senior school with sixth form in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. Staff at the Academy wanted to revamp the reception area with updated office furniture and furnish the Year 13 room for a more flexible study environment.

HFS successfully managed the fit out of the Academy when it opened in 2019 and staff at the school were very happy with our professional service and delivery of the project. The school approached us again in 2022 to create a reception and large, open and flexible study space for Year 13.

Luan Wheeler, Account Manager sourced a supplier to visit the school, measure the reception area, render drawings, supply and install. She coordinated suppliers whilst working around the school, students and staff schedule to minimise disruption.

A cluster of stone oak top desks and workstation have modernised the reception area. The large classroom has now been converted with fresh tables and chairs suitable for the light and airy sixth form study area.

The school received regular updates and the project was finished in time for the new school term. Staff and students are delighted with the new furniture.

Our 6th form has been judged good by Ofsted and we wanted to continue to improve and invest in our 6th formers. We wanted a more ‘grown up’, workplace style environment for the Year 13 room and the new furniture has really helped to create this.

Sir Peter Hall School

A brand-new school fit out

Sir Peter Hall School is a special free school which opened in September 2022 in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The school was named after the celebrated theatre, opera and film director.

The 80-place special school is for boys and girls in the age range 9 – 16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) issues and/or Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Run by Unity Schools Partnership and it is based on a mainstream model of education with an SEMH/ASD specialism.

Emma Mather, our dedicated Account Manager worked with the Head teacher to kit out the new school with furniture and resources. Classrooms were equipped with robust furniture suitable for the students’ needs.

Emma also liaised with Unity Schools Partnership Director of Operations to go through room by room and agree a list of furniture for each area to ensure it was fit for purpose.

We coordinated quotes from over 20 suppliers and over regular meetings the brief was revised, furniture sourced and installed.

Classrooms with whiteboards and brightly coloured tables and chairs have been carefully selected to engage students. The modern kitchen is ideal to prepare them to become successful independent adults.

HFS also installed white and teal modern benches in the canteen to help compliment the rest of the furniture across the school.

Our Project Manager Robert helped us update our school furniture, making it a brighter and nicer environment for our pupils to learn whilst meeting our budget requirements.

We’re now also in line with EN1729 standards, with regards to sizing and posture of our chairs.
