dan, once the students finished the classes they went out for their field work. It was only me and one other sister left in the base house. While we were sleeping, I awoke to the sound of a gun cocking. I woke my friend and told her, “There is some danger”. I could hear them talking and I told her,”Surely there is danger”. Shortly thereafter they kicked the door in. They held the guns to our heads and said “Get out!” I told my friend, “Let’s get out”. We stepped out into the courtyard of the house. They told my co-worker to go sit down a short ways from us while they made me remain standing with a gun at my back and one at my front. There was also one beside me that was unarmed. I knew I was going to die! I was scared and very fearful. Then I felt a voice deep inside me that said, “If you die here you will die for me, and if you live here, you will live for me.” It was just like
the fear immediately lifted off of me. I no longer was afraid. I just thought if I die here I will die for the Lord and if I live I will just live for the Lord because He is the one who brought me here. Just then they fired the gun in front of me but the gun refused to work! He tried it again for the second time and the gun refused to work! Then the one behind me opened fire but again the gun refused to work! Praise God! Then the one on the side of me ran to get a branch from a tree. He found a big long one and they began to beat me on my back. They beat me until they broke the branch on me. They went to look for another one and I spoke “God, that one will not touch me!” Praise the Lord it did not touch me. I only wish I had prayed the first time before the first one battered my back. Afterward they drug us into one of the buildings and locked us in. However they were
unaware the building had two doors. After some time when I sensed there was a calm and quietness. They had been noisily looting everything of value, money, computers or whatever they could find. I told my friend, “let’s get out of here.” She was afraid and did not want to try to escape but I sternly told her they said they were coming back for me and
I am leaving before they do. She followed. We retreated to the bush and hid there for some time. Once it was almost morning and there was no noise or activity at the base, we decided to come back home. Due to the trauma and excitement I was really unable to sleep so once it was daylight I went to the police and informed them what had happened.
As I was going I met one of the men who used to be with us but later I learned he had been the organizer of the team that was supposed to kill us. He had been part of our base but had some problems and we had to dismiss him. We asked him to go to his pastor and get himself straightened out and then come back. Unfortunately he had a... Following a botched abortion attempt by her mother in December of 1968, Carrie Holland was born on June 10, 1969 in Houston, TX. At the age of about 13, just prior to learning about the abortion attempt from her mother, following years of dreams of a baby fighting for its life, Carrie also survived a lightning strike which split her banana seat bicycle seat in half! At the age of 27, Carrie met her birth father for the first time, and forgave him for having abandoned her and her mother when he learned of the pregnancy. Following her birth father’s death from lung cancer 3 years later, after a lifetime of bullying from peers and adults alike, Carrie chose to attempt suicide. Downing a bottle of antidepres sants, along with a bottle of wine, she told God she
was done and didn’t want to wake up. BUT GOD had other plans! When she woke up the next morning from what she’d done the night before, there was not even one symptom. It was at this point Carrie realized that God had a calling on her life. Eventually, at the age of 42, after having never so much as having been asked on a date before, a man named Richard Fischer, who had already been working on establishing a pro-life ministry for just over a year, came into Carrie’s life. This happened through a God ordained meeting on a mutual friend’s pro-life Facebook page. Though Richard would normally have been 1000 miles away in Maryville, Tennessee, on this occasion, he just happened to be in Austin, TX following
a dream God had given him 18 years earlier. After much prayer and soul searching, Richard decided to ask Carrie on her first date, and she accepted. They arranged a double date with some friends of Carrie’s at Asian City Restaurant in Houston, and after sharing various things over dinner, the two immediately knew they were meant to be married. They spent a good portion of 3 days together before Richard drove back to Tennessee, and the two immediately began planning their wedding. They would not see each other again face to face for an entire month, until, through two amazing answers to prayer, the Lord provided for the two of them to meet at a pro-life conference in Orlando, where Carrie had been invited to speak.
The day following her speaking engagement, Richard and Carrie become formally engaged at beautiful Alexander Springs, not too far from Richard’s father and step mother’s home in ‘The

Need Miracles ----Dear Need Miracles: I think that in many instances, born-again Christians do not understand the light that God has placed inside of them. Jesus said, in John 14:12, “I tell you whosoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” (NIV) Look at Ephesians 3:20-
21: Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen. So you see, all these promises are for us today. I have asked myself the same questions. God, I want to see more miracles today! The lame to walk, the blind to see, the dumb to talk, deaf ears to be opened! Then the Lord says to me, “I am able to do these greater works through you, but you must come apart from worldly things. Be careful what you are
taking into your spirit.” Too much television? Desire for material goods that you don’t need, and for which you get into debt? Criticizing your neighbor? Being fearful? Staying in your comfort zone and not reaching out? Lack of prayer? There are so many things we could cut away in order to have that full light shine brightly inside of us, not dimmed by worldly bondages. So, I examine myself, as we all should daily, as we grow in knowledge and grace, to reach that fulness of God. The power that worketh within us! Keep the faith! Keep training your flesh! Several years ago, I had to have knee surgery. It was a quick outpatient procedure, but I still had to meet certain requirements before going into a sterile operating room. This meant being super clean, with no cosmetics, perfume, nail polish on and wearing no jewelry, etc. All was fine except that I could not get my wedding ring off. Nick and I were married in 1985 and I never once removed that ring for nearly 25 years. But over that time, I had gained weight and though the ring was still comfortable it would not go over that chubby knuckle! The nurse who interviewed me a week before the operation said that it would be no problem, they would just cover it with a bandage. But as miracles would happen, a few days before the surgery my finger shrunk a little and with some good liquid soap, off it came! Nick decided that it would be a good time to get it resized. When he took it to a local jeweler who would agree to try but due to the age and wear of the band he couldn’t guarantee the outcome. That’s when Nick told the jeweler and staff that I’d never had it off before and how much it meant to me. He shared with me later that they were deeply touched and said they’d make every attem-
pt to do best they could. The time came and the ring was ready. When we walked into the jewelry store the staff was very sweet and mentioned to me how Nick shared the story with them. The jeweler then gave me a guided tour of my ring pointing out he was able to perfectly match the pattern which hid the stretching process and how he polished and buffed it to a high gold shine. I believe that when I put it on, they saw something in us and our love for each other that clearly connected with them and Nick and I left that jewelry store feeling like highly favored customers with me wearing a precious golden jewel. That experience made such a profound impression on me that we still talk about it occasionally over the years. Our love for each other impressed the Jeweler, but to us the rings we both still wear symbolized many years of challenges, personal growth, emotional healing and a deeper love for each other as we continued to grow. Then we really began to experience the joy of our marriage more as a blessing when God became the head of our household when we were reborn into the body of Christ. While still wearing our rings, we are growing more in love

I believe that my ring suddenly came off that day before surgery so someone in that jewelry store could see the possibilities of a life as husband and wife both in love with each other and understand the Lord’s love for them. To me the whole atmosphere in that jewelry store seemed to change and for a while became Holy Ground. I encourage you to think back on your life. Do you have a story? Are there points in time that stand out when suddenly God revealed Himself to you and then gave you an opportunity to be an example of your love for Him? Think on those times, be encouraged, realize where you are now, how you’ve grown and how it’s just on the way to where you are going. Nick and I have many stories, but this is one stands out for us. It’s a simple story, but those rings are powerful reminders of the opportunity for joy of life on earth as husband and wife and glory of life eternal as children of the Kingdom of God.

It would allow exceptions for rape, incest and threats to the mother’s life. In addition, the law would allow parents to claim unborn babies as dependents on their taxes and include the unborn baby in census data. It also would allow mothers to collect child support for pregnancy and delivery costs from the father prior to the baby’s birth. Georgia is a popular film-

Brian Kemp signed the pro-life law in May, a growing list of actors, entertainment companies and others have said they may join the boycott. One of America’s biggest broadcasting networks may boycott the state of Georgia for trying to protect unborn babies from abortion. Karey Burke, president of entertainment at ABC, said her company is considering whether to stop doing business in the state, Fortune reports. Disney, CBS, NBC, Netflix and other entertainment giants also have said they may boycott the state if the new heartbeat law goes into effect. “It’s an open issue,” Burke said. “This law is being challenged right now in the courts. We will just wait to see what’s

In June, CEO Robert Iger told Reuters that they probably will stop filming in Georgia if its abortion ban goes into effect. “I rather doubt we will [continue shooting in Georgia,]” Iger said. He said he is watching “very carefully” to see how the legal battle unfolds. “I think many people who work for us will not want to work there and we will have to heed their wishes in that regard,” Iger said. “I don’t see how it’s practical for us to conti-
ue to shoot there.” Netflix said it also may boycott the state for protecting unborn babies from abortions, as did “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill. Earlier, Gov. Kemp said the boycotts would not stop him from doing what is right. “I understand that some folks don’t like this new law. I’m fine with that,” the Republican governor told the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “We’re elected to do what’s right – and standing up for precious life is always the right thing to do. We are the party of freedom and opportunity. We value and protect innocent life — even though that makes C-list celebrities squawk.” Some pro-lifers have renewed hope that the new
conservative-majority U.S. Supreme Court will uphold an abortion ban and overturn Roe v. Wade. Others, however, are hesitant because of concerns about losing the court battle and being forced to reimburse pro-abortion groups for their legal fees. Recently, a federal judge blocked Kentucky’s new heartbeat bill. In January, a judge also declared Iowa’s heartbeat law unconstitutional. North Dakota and Arkansas passed heartbeat bills several years ago, but federal courts struck down their laws as well. There is more hope that the U.S. Supreme Court may consider an abortion ban, but it is difficult to say if it would for certain. www. lifenews.com

Black Activist Says Abortion is the New Gospel for Asia Report Real Racism: “We’re are Literally Targets Child Labor Exploitation, BY Gospel for Asia Killing Ourselves From the Inside Out” Enslavement
Abortion has become a new avenue to perpetuate racism in America, a black activist in Ohio wrote this week. In a column at The Columbus Dispatch, Rachel Citak, legislative liaison for Citizens for Community Values in Columbus, Ohio, described how abortion oppresses the black community. “… today there is no greater threat to the personhood of people of color than legalized abortion,” Citak wrote. “I cannot think of another political cause that has done more to choke off the dreams, votes and futures of black Ohioans than the pro-abortion movement.” Recently, she said Ohio state Rep. Stephanie Howse, D-Cleveland, criticized the new state heartbeat law in an oped for The Guardian. Howse claimed that “Christian-based white men” pushed the bill to take “ownership and control of other people’s bodies.” But Citak said Howse is mistaken.

THE EXPLOITED GENERATION: An estimated 218 million children worldwide as young as five years old are engaged in labor activities, including forced labor, prostitution and pornography, according to a new report released today by Christian agency Gospel for Asia (GFA, www.gfa.org/press/report-child-labor), urging people to “pray, engage and act.”

GFA-supported workers have worked with the local authorities to help reunite hundreds of abandoned, lost and runaway children with their families. In addition, GFA’s Bridge of Hope program provides schooling, meals, clothes, and medical care for 70,000 children in Asia, empowering them to stay out of the child labor trap. Satanists Challenge Pro-Life Law, Claims it Violates Their Religious Freedoms

The Satanic Temple just will not give up fighting for the so-called “right” to abort an unborn baby. This week, the pro-abortion group filed a new appeal against a Missouri informed consent law, KUTV 2 reports. The Satanic group’s lawsuit argues that the state forced “Judy Doe” to receive a booklet with “factually inaccurate” information that is “designed to dissuade women from getting an abortion.” The group claims the law violates her First Amendment religious freedom. Earlier this year, the Missouri Supreme Court threw out a similar challenge by the Satanic group. However, they hope for success with this lawsuit before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. The Missouri law in question requires abortion facilities to provide women with information about the development of her unborn baby, including the opportunity to view the ultrasound of her unborn baby, the risks of abortion and alternatives available to them. All of the information is based on scientific facts and research. The law also requires a 72-hour waiting period between the informed consent and the abort-
ion. However, the Satanic group claims the law pushes religious beliefs on women who are seeking abortions. In the lawsuit, the group points to a 1989 ruling by the Eighth Circuit “which explicitly states that the life of each human being begins at conception is ‘an impermissible state adoption of a theory when life begins.’” According to the Satanists, informed consent laws violate two core tenants of their beliefs: First, “One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone,” and, second, “Beliefs should conform to our best scientific understanding of the world. We should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit our beliefs.” Spokesman Lucien Greaves expressed hope that their lawsuit will succeed. “The only way for The Satanic Temple to lose this case is if the Eighth Circuit reverses itself, which is highly unusual, or goes to impossibly great lengths to avoid ruling on the issues it is being presented with,” he said. However, it is the Satanic group that is letting beliefs get in the way of facts. Scientifically, it is
well accepted that a unique, new human life comes into being at conception. Numerous medical textbooks, prominent scientists and even some abortion activists admit it is scientifically accurate. The radical Satanists group has been trying to stop fact-based laws in Missouri for years. In February, the Missouri Supreme Court dismissed another one of its lawsuits. Judge Laura Denvir Stith and four fellow justices said Doe could have refused to accept the booklet. She also said the state does not require ultrasounds prior to abortions; rather, ultrasounds are a routine procedure conducted by abortion facilities. “(T)he informed consent law neither requires a pregnant woman to read the booklet in question nor requires her to have or pay for an ultrasound,” Stith wrote in her ruling. “And, while Ms. Doe mentions the 72-hour waiting period, she does not allege how that waiting period conflicts with her religion nor that it was an undue burden, nor did she seek to enjoin its enforcement prior to the expiration of that waiting period.” At the time, St. Louis Public Radio reported Chief Justice Zell M.
