NASHVILLE, TN (ANS - 2016) In a remote Southeast Asian village, a leader’s death and apparent resurrection from the dead fueled revival among a previously unreached group. Pastor David Platt shared the story with the Southern Baptist Convention’s Executive Committee Sept. 19 in Nashville, according to Baptist Press. Platt currently serves as
president of the Southern Baptist’s mission board. The report came to Platt from an IMB missionary. A Southeast Asian believer trained by Southern Baptist missionaries took some friends with him and began sharing the Continuation on Page:3
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings Luke 2:10-14 of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Doctor Escape Idi Amin’s killing machine to find Miracle Ministry in Christ KAMPALA, UGANDA (ANS – October 12, 2016) – A Ugandan pastor was one of the fortunate of Uganda who, during Idi Amin’s brutal eight years of misrule, was able to escape Amin’s terrible killing machine which left an estimated 3000,000 Christians dead. In an interview, Bishop Dr. Lamech S. Lumala, a former dental surgeon, and now pastor of Showers of Blessing Church in Kampala, Uganda, shared with me his miraculous escape from death from the man who called himself His Excellency,President for Life,Field Marshal Al Hadji Doctor Idi Amin Dada, VC, DSO, MC, Lord of All the Beasts of theEarth and Fishes of the Seas and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in

By God’s grace, some negotiations with my friends took place, and the local governor said he would give me protection and that I would not be killed.” Dr. Lumala said that at that time of his near death experience, he wasn’t a believer, but then his eldest daughter Juliet, and other children in his family, along his wife, Peninnah, “got saved” and they all prayed for him. “It was back in 1986 when I was invited to an evangelical meeting and, during that gathering, the POWER of God came upon me just as it came upon Apostle Paul on his way to Damascus,” he recalled. “At that moment, the Lord said to me, ‘Lamech, your ways are not My ways.’ It was then that I raised up my hands and I cried out to God and I gave my life to the Lord. Peru (MNN) — Iquitos, Peru, is known as a global hub for so-called “spiritual tourism”. The 9th Street Mission Opens with Party for Hungry and Needy
(Bradenton, FL December 2016 He’s Alive) The 9th Street Mission in Bradenton celebrated the grand opening of their new ministry facility with a Christmas Party that invited over 3000 local residents to attend. Homecooked hot food, gifts and groceries were given to all attendees and the parking lot was packed with eager recipients on the 2001 9th Street West Bradenton location. We had 113 families registered meaning that conservatively we had over 300 people when you count the children and spouses. There was a large spread of banquet tables full of delicious food free for the taking. Food donors included The Anna Maria Oyster Bar and Hibachi Grill both of Bradenton. Anna Marie Oyster bar donated 50 pounds of cooked wings with sauce and Hibachi donated, as they did last year for our Party in the Park, several trays of delicious Asian Cuisine. There were volunteer
workers from several local churches including ding Trinity Baptist, Kingdom Life and of course Faith International. Everyone worked together diligently to serve the beautiful people of this area. Peaches the clown (Nancy Hollenkamp) was there doing balloons and ministry to the children. Jesus Christ was lifted up in song and preaching with many responding to the Lords message of love. Fifty bags of groceries from the local Food Bank were distributed as well as multiplied numbers of household articles, toys and clothes.

Christmas: Nothing A QUEST NEW More, Nothing Less By Kenneth D. MacHarg
QUITO, ECUADOR (ANS – November 28, 2016) -- For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. I saw an interesting sign in Atlanta a few weeks ago. It was out front of a lot where they were going to sell Christmas trees, and it said, “Without a traditional tree, it’s not Christmas.” My response was: What? Wait a minute. A traditional Christmas tree is what makes or breaks Christmas? I don’t think so! A number of years ago, I ran into my friend Pablo on the street in Quito, Ecuador, where we were living at the time. Pablo Camuendo is a Quichua Indian. These
people, known as Quichua in Ecuador and Quechua in Bolivia and Peru, are descendants of the Inca Indians who were part of a vast empire that stretched from northern Chile and ran up the high Andes

would be doing. “Well,” he said, “On Christmas eve we take off work at noon, so we’ll go home. We’ll play some fútbol (that’s not football, but fútbol -- in other words, soccer). “Then we’ll eat a meal with our (extended) family and go to church to wor ship God and thank him for sending Cris to Jesús (Jesus Christ). “That sounds wonderful,” I said. “What about Christmas day. What will you do then?” “Well,” he said, “We’ll get up and go to church to worship God and thank him for sending Cristo Jesús (Jesus Christ). Then we’ll go ho- me and eat a big dinner with our family (extended family). Then the women will visit and the men and boys will play fútbol.” Continuation on Page:3

Colossians 3:15 (NKJV) And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. There are a lot of things I’d like to see different in the world. It’s troubling to know that crime is commonplace. It’s hard to see liberalism on the rise… while many conservative people have become calloused and complacent about principles our grandparents would have fiercely defended. What has happened to us? It can be hard to have a positive outlook, when you view the unrest. It’s natural to want peace and wish that everyone could just get along. Something that bothers me almost more than the secular society, is the seeming lack of interest on the part of so many Christians, to remember what

the Word of God says about the last days and how we should behave— and just get on their knees. Humans have a strong sense of self-preservation; such an automatic tendency toward self-defense. Some view the events going on in the Middle East and are quick to criticize the actions of the Israelis. I wonder how willingly they would walk away if the ownership of land that was supposed to be theirs, was being questioned… Without getting into a big debate, I’d like to spend a little time thinking about peace. Peace means different things to different people. Peace might be getting through a day without arguing with anyone, as much as it might mean a cease fire on war-torn foreign soil. You might not realize it, but there are ways to have control of peace. You may
not be able to do anything about missiles being launched or bombs going off, but you can have peace in your heart, in spite of the circumstances in our world. The Bible compares the events of the end times to the birth pangs of an expectant mother when she is in labor and about to give birth. Any pregnant woman in her final month of pregnancy is only concerned with one thing. She just wants to have that baby. You can try to talk about any topic you choose with that woman, and the conversation will always find its way back to pregnancy and childbirth. This is perfectly normal. A pregnant woman is focused. She is passionate to see the baby and be done with pregnancy. The intensity of world crisis is increasing and cataContinuation on Page:4
Giving more than gifts this Christmas
BY JULIE BOURDON
Russia (MNN) — With Christmas coming, many people are looking for ways to make a spiritual impact in the spirit of the grace we’ve found in Christ. One of the best ways to do that is by partnering with ministries who are already working alongside people in need. Every year, SOAR International invites you to participate in their “Stuff a Stocking” project. Like the name suggests, every sponsored stocking is filled with toys, necessities, and even a Bible. In addition, the sponsor of the stocking has the opportunity to write a letter to the child who will receive their stocking. Greg Mangione of SOAR International says they work with and support the local Church through this program to better meet actual needs.

“In most cases, they’re distributed to orphanages or needy families that the Church either is building, wants to build, or has built a relationship with so there’s continued outreach and not just a one time or twice a year gift.” This is what makes “Stuff a Stocking” unique. The Church is already actively involved and intentional in their ministry to these children, and they know what the needs are. They
es that are involved with them to be able to continue reaching out and ministering to them.” That’s why Mangione encourages the first action for people to take with “Stuff a Stocking” is pray for hearts to be softened and for opportunities to share the Gospel. It’s $35 to sponsor the main portion of the gift, and $5 to sponsor a Bible. And if you’re wondering what to write about in a letter to your child, and
like they’re just plodding away on their own.” It’s a team effort to reach out to the community. But, it’s about more than presents. “Giving gifts of needed and fun things is great, but that doesn’t necessarily have a lasting impact. We want these gifts to have a lasting impact. We want the children to see they are loved and there’s a God that loves them. We also want to see the church
what to pray about after, Mangione gives us an idea. “For the most part,” he says, “These kids are going to feel largely forgotten and largely alone.” Many of them are social orphans, meaning their parents have lost custody of the children, but are still alive. For them, they face a feeling of rejection and abandonment. And children who come from poverty struggle with a similar thing: their value and the purpose of their life. In your letter, you can remind them that they aren’t alone and they are not forgotten, not only because you are praying for them, but because Jesus loves them. Another way you can be praying for SOAR is that projects like these will go on without a hitch despite the new anti-terrorism law. Gospel in a village “that was totally unreached with the Gospel until they got there.” The villagers responded attentively, began to study the Bible like the noble Bereans, and many in the village believed. As they came to Christ, a number brought idols, necklaces and amulets connected with pagan worship to the center of the village to be burned, Platt recounted. But in a strange reversal one day, some began taking back their occult-linked objects. It seems the village leader had died and a few superstitiously believed his death was caused by evil spirits upset about the destruction of the sacred objects. Discouraged by the sudden turnaround, the Christians went to express their condolences at a house where the village leader’s body lay in repose. Standing over the fallen leader, they began praying “that God would show His mercy to the people in the village, that God would show His glory and His love to that people who were so close,” Platt told Baptist Press.
Platt acknowledged he doesn’t have medical evidence from the remote location to verify the resurrection, but said: “I do know at villages like this, they know how to recognize death.” Jokingly, Platt said if he wasn’t dead, God chose Then something aston- an opportune moment for ishing happened. MOUNT HERMON, CA (ANS – December 1, 2016) – ‘Tis the season to be … gloomy? Feeling low this Christmas season? You’re not alone. Amid cheery songs, festive parties, gifts and good wishes, many lonely people are crying or dying on the inside. Maybe you’re one of them. I was. During a horrible year, my wife of twenty years divorced me, my employer of 25 years fired me, and I had a cancer scare. As I drove home one night, lovely Christmas music came on the radio. Melancholy aching evidenced the deep pain of abandonment and loss that I was still processing. No fun. Romantic estrangement, family strife, and bereavement can make your holidays dismal. One of Elvis Presley’s most popular songs was “Blue Christmas.” A lonely crooner mourns heartbreaking lost love. Performers from The Beach Boys to Celine Dion, Loretta Lynn, and Jon Bon Jovi have recorded it. Does even thinking about that song make you depressed? A QUEST FOR NEW TRENGTH
strophic events are getting closer together. It’s unlikely that a woman who is on the verge of delivery would ever say, “Okay, let’s stop the labor. I think I just want to stay pregnant and not have this baby.” If the end times can truly be compared to childbirth— then we should be saying, “Come, Lord Jesus!” and be focused on our part in the management and cooperation of the advancement of the birthing process. When I went through birthing classes, we were told to have an object that we focused on when the labor became increasingly hard. We were instructed to breathe in certain ways and we were given various recommendations as to what kind of posture would help, and so on. Jesus is really coming. The time is getting closer. The struggle is going to continue intensifying. All the things that are going on seem like bad stuff—but it’s really good stuff, when you realize this is the Word of God coming to pass in our lifetime. Shortly before the baby is born, a pregnant mother goes through the period known as ‘transition’ in the birthing process. It’s a time
when she might be apt to become critical of anyone around her. She might find it hard to listen to advice from a birthing coach, but at that time—she really needs to work hard at cooperating with her body—and her coach, in order to bring forth her child. At that time, it’s vital for her to stay as calm as possible. World peace is a dream we can wish for…but whether we see world peace or not, we can stay calm and cultivate the ability of allowing the peace of Christ to rule in our hearts. While we tend to be so critical of our leaders and the way things seem to be going in the world—we could be working on cooperating with the body of Christ and our fellow believers right here at home—building unity and peace in whatever way we can, to advance the kingdom of God. Declaration: I will find new strength by getting a grip on where we really are in the process of Christ coming again. I will stop being critical and start embracing the birth process by staying calm and having the peace of Christ in my heart. Daily Blog: www. newstrength.wordpress. com

OUR DAILY WALK... By Bob Duffany
It is becoming increasingly apparent that modern Christianity in general is drifting ignorantly, perhaps, into a devilish doctrine which is dangerous for those who may become enmeshed in its deceit. It is the deceit of ascription of assigning what Christ has done for us, to our own efforts of belief and faith. Is this important enough to me, a Christian believer, that I should consider what is presented herein? The short imperative is “YES!” Let’s take a look at what I call “misplaced faith”. Please consider thoughtfully the following two subjects with the help of the Holy Spirit. First, Substitution. Consider 2 Corinthians 5:21; “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” Look at this verse: First, He became sin for us; then – after that first thing was accomplished – we may become the righteousness of God in Him. This is a time progression. There is a modern view that Jesus died for us out of some sort of Godly sympathy for humans. However, a hard look at the real meaning of the above verse reveals that He - Jesus - was made to be sin for us, not because of sympathy for us, but be-
cause of His identification with us. Our sins are removed for only one reason - the death of Jesus, by obedience to His Father - not because of sympathy for us (either corporately or individually). The death of Jesus Christ in obedience to His Father is the one act, the one required process which made us acceptable to God. There is no other explanation or reasoning to this. It is not because of our obedience or our giving up things, or any action or belief by us! It is ONLY through His obedience to death. We may state that Jesus came to reveal the Fatherhood and lovingkindness of God to us; but the Word says that he came to “take away the sins of the world.” John 1:29. Jesus reveals the Father only to those who become believers in Jesus as Savior. He never said he came to reveal himself as the One who revealed the Father. In fact, He spoke of Himself as a “stumbling block.” John 15:22. In John 14:9, Jesus said, “He who has seen me has seen the Father.” He was speaking to His disciples, believers in Him. These are not easy insights into God’s revealed Word, but are absolutely necessary for a true and correct faith-walk with and in
Christ. We need to have a clear knowledge of HOW we are to believe - of what belief in Jesus Christ actually consists. Let’s brush away man-made cobwebs and our own concepts, and concentrate on God’s Word until the Holy Spirit reveals the truth to us. Let’s continue. It is never stated or taught in the Word that Christ died for me and that I am completely free from penalty. What is actually taught is that, “He died for all.” (2 Cor. 5:15). It is not that, “He died my death.” It is through identification with His death that I may be freed from sin and His righteousness imparted into me as a gift from Him. There is a great difference in these two concepts. This substitution declared in the Word is of two parts: Gal. 4:19: (1) “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, (2) that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” It is not Christ for me unless I have Christ formed in me. We need to truly understand what God’s Word reveals to us. Now, let’s look at the second of the two modern misplaced concepts of a true faith-walk: Justification. Consider Romans 5:10. “For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”
Have You Walked the Romans Road?

Think about this statement: I am not saved by believing; I simply realize that I am saved by believing. I am not saved just because I believe I am...I am saved by a deliberate act of God, and I realize this by my belief. Again, repentance does not save me; it is only the sign that I realize what God has done through the obedience of Jesus Christ. The only way that I am made right with God is that, before all my repentance and belief, Christ died! When I turn to God and accept and believe what God reveals to me, His atonement by the Cross of Christ places me in right standing with God. As a result of this, I am justified - not by my sorrow for my sin or my repentance. It is only by what Jesus has done! This misconception of salvation by my faith and belief is unscriptural! The one and only basis of my salvation is what Jesus Christ did on the Cross! It is not by any action on my part. It was accomplished well-before I was even alive, and was finished at the cross. The Holy Spirit brings justification with a light that shatters our darkness, and we know we are saved, but not how it was accomplished. We realize this after it is accomplished in us! Our belief and repentance are expressed after the work of the Holy Spirit in us. This salvation is not based on our human reasoning or logic, but solely on the death of Jesus Christ on the cross - His sacrificial death. We have the privilege to be born again only - only - because of the atonement of Christ. Sinful men and wom- en can be changed into new Continuation on Page: 6

Native Americans & the Great Commission Disaster
United States (MNN) – There’s the sentiment that “what’s past is past.” But sometimes that mentality becomes an excuse to ignore real and current problems. Sometimes in forgetting the past, we overlook people of the present. The United States just celebrated Thanksgiving, almost four centuries after that first meal was shared. In the backdrop are the ones we shared it with – the first Americans.
“Today, Native Americans are in a monumental battle to survive and it’s not even on our radar. And ‘Exhibit A’ would be that here is one people group in the country whose suicide is at minimum three times, and depending on the part of the country, ten times greater than the rest of the people in America.” In addition, Hutchraft says, they struggle with sexual crimes and abuse, as well as drug and alcohol add-

We spoke with Ron Hutchcraft, who recently wrote the blog post, “The Thanksgiving Guests We Forgot.” Hutchraft says, “It’s like we invited them to dinner and forgot them for 400 years.” Native Americans saved the pilgrims when they taught them how to gather enough food for the winter. Today, that scenario has been flipped. It is Native American communities struggling to survive. And yet, very few hear their cries.
ictions. There is a common theme of despair and hopelessness. According to Native American Aid, the 22% of Native Americans living on reservations face conditions comparable to the third world. “I have a native brother who [said] ‘Ron, I listen on the news and in all these things that were broadcast. [They] talk about African Americans and Asian Americans and Hispanic Americans, and my ears are all ready to hear my people. [I] never do.’” Christians know that the only hope that can combat any brand of despair is the hope found in Jesus. In the Continuation on Page: 8

I had never heard that type of music in this world anywhere, and they were singing that ‘the king is coming, the king is coming!’ “So God then lifted me up and took out my spirit like a little kitten in his hands and spoke things to me and called me into ministry and then pushed my soul back into my body. And, from that time, I’ve been trying to see what God has for my life. “Then one day, God told me: ‘I want to show you My Supernatural Divine Healing power. You have been healing people using your head knowledge, but now I want to show you My super human divine healing power.’” “Today, the Lord is working many miracles,” he told me. “I’ve seen so
many people being healed supernaturally. I’ve seen the lame walk and have got the documentation of that. On one occasion, there was a student in City Hill College at Mutundwe, who had paralyzed legs. I prayed for him and immediately he got up and walked.” But, he says, that one-day, healing became really personal for him, explaining, “My wife Peninnah con-

It was something like a yellow light jelly moving from her body. “She later testified that she was feeling something in her breast. And then she woke up and asked, ‘What is happening Lord?’ She felt that still voice of the Lord telling her, ‘I’m operating on you. You are now being healed, and so from now on go and pray for other people so they too will be healed.’ She did just that and so many people have since also gotten healed completely.” So now, this former medical professional is continuing to see God’s healing power at work in Uganda and other nations that he goes to, including in America. Several people have testified about how God has healed them through Dr. Lumala’s ministry. (You can read his story at https://www.facebook. com/lumala.lamech/ osts/1315312768488887.) In conclusion, Dr. Lumala says that he is grateful that his life was spared during the horror years of Idi Amin so he could “get Salvation” and then help bring new life and healing to others. “Glory be to the Lord Almighty”.

“It’s God’s heart to rescue these girls.”
India (MNN) — In the central Indian community of Madhya Pradesh, girls are being sold into sexual slavery – and their families are doing little to stop it. Gary Edmonds of Food for the Hungry says parents are making the impossible decision to prostitute their own children in order to put food on the table. And it’s not okay. So Food for the Hungry is partnering with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) to bring about change. “You’ve got a group of people there, the Banchada people,” shares Edmonds. “They’re of the lowest caste in a Hindu culture, and for more than 500 years now, one of the ways those people have provided for themselves is they’ve taken their young daughters — often the eldest daughter when she reaches the age of 11, 12, 13-years of age — and they literally sell her into prostitution. “They’re basically saying if their young daughter can begin to sell herself to the local traders, the local craftsmen, the local people who are tourists in that area, they will have a livelihood.” Edmonds’ voice shakes when he considers what’s at stake. “I have two daughters. I have three granddaughters, and I think about this kind of a situation. We would go, ‘Horror of horrors – that’s not okay for a society to
(Image courtesy of Food for the Hun gry set itself up where they’re selling their daughters into prostitution.’” That same passion is felt throughout the Food for the Hungry organization, and it’s what prompted their partnership with Youth With A Mission India. “With those people, we’ve helped set up a school,” explains Edmonds. “It’s called the House of Palms. And this school becomes a place where these young girls can be brought in, they can be trained, they can be educated, they can be fed on a regular basis.” The girls are provided safe housing and learn alternative job skills, so parents are no longer forced to sell them into prostitution. Food for the Hungry has another reason for their involvement in the House of Palms. “It’s estimated that more than 50 percent of the women right now are HIV positive, and so that just gets passed on from generation to generation, literally obliterating whole households, entire generations of young people. So we believe this is

It helps them to recognize their dignity, their worth, their value, and to develop the skills that will allow them to create an alternative pathway to their life.” Edmonds says rescue must also address the families. “We have learned as well when people are caught in impoverished situations, they’re actually very creative and innovative in trying to figure out how to provide for themselves, and so we have to work with whole family units to give them a new direction, a new pathway to actually provide the means and the livelihood for sustaining their lives.” Food for the Hungry works alongside YWAM

I’ve learned that God is a gracious God. I’ve had the opportunity now to know God and experience His love in very practical ways and I understand in the fullest sense that God is my Healer. I believe God will fulfill my desires. Please pray for me, my studies, my family, and my health.’” Edmonds asks for prayer for those working at House of Palms. “The thing I

When we later delivered our many Bibles to a church in the capital, we walked into its lobby, and a little old man came running towards me, pointed a finger at my face, and said, “You’re the one!” When I asked him what he meant, he replied, “Last night I had a dream and, in it, I saw all of you, but I especially saw you and the Lord told me that you would pray for me and bring me some encour-

Target Boycott shuts down Christian Website
An anti-Christian web-site host shut down a Christian web-site because they boycotted Target retailers’ policy of forcing women to share bathrooms with men, reports LifeSite. “A conservative website to galvanize support against Target’s ‘gender-inclusive’ restroom and changing-room policies was shut down on Thanksgiving morning by its web hosting company on the claim that it featured ‘hateful or discriminatory’ content. “Our #AnywhereButTARGET campaign has been so effective that at 9:00 a.m. this Thanksgiving morning our Minneapolis-based web host (Leadpages) unfortunately SHUT US DOWN for being ‘hateful’ and discriminatory’ to try to stop this movement!” stated Lance Wray, Executive Director of 2ndVote, the organization behind the website, in a press release. “In an email to Wray date

Navy Chaplain: Obama’s Navy prohibited my Religious Freedom
“For the first time in a long time, recently-retired Wes Modder – a former enlisted Marine turned Navy Chaplain – feels like he finally has his religious liberty back [after retiring from] what has become Obama’s military,” reports Conservative Review. “Modder was nearly dismissed from the United States Navy in 2014 after sailors complained that his religious views were ‘intolerant,’ because he counseled a lesbian sailor against having premarital sex and engaging in a same-sex relationship. The former Marine of 16 years and father of four felt betrayed. “After so many years serving honorably and then to be dishonored and disrespected,” Modder told Conservative Review in a phone interview. “Betrayal was the first thing I felt.” “What really stung, however, was being abandoned by his fellow chaplains and officers. “I really was surprised at
all the people that ran away,” Modder, a veteran of Desert Storm and Desert Shield during his 16 years of service, said. “They treated me like a criminal or like I had leprosy or something, because the topic was so hot.” “Following the monthslong legal battle, aided by Texas-based First Liberty Institute, Modder was eventually exonerated and returned to full duty in September 2015.” [Dr. Chaps’ comment: Chaplain Modder is a hero, President Obama a persecutor, and now that Donald Trump is President-elect, we must up the pressure on Congress to permanently grant freedom for chaplains to pray “in Jesus’ name.”]

ple who were here first. It would be the first Americans, the Native Americans. If not us, who?” Hutchcraft explains, these people haven’t been forgotten by God, they’ve been forgotten by his people. He calls it a double blindness. The enemy has blinded Native Americans so that they believe Jesus is the white man’s God. Unfortunately, from the beginning, they have had plenty of reason to substantiate this belief. “They have lost their land, they have lost their language, they have lost their culture, they have lost their lives. And often it was in the name of Christianity– doing things that Jesus would have had nothing to do with—that he would abhor.” The other blindness is God’s people not seeing the huge need in these communities. What now? Hutchcraft says the solution to this blindness is not to go rushing in to try and do something. The problem from the very beginning is that the Gospel messenger was an outsider who understood very little about the Native American culture. “The messengers of the hope of Christ need to be Native Americans who have been changed by this savior. And, I know that for a fact because I have seen it with my own eyes.” Through “On Eagles
Christ, they see what few if any missionaries in this 400-year history have ever seen.” He’s seen thousands of Native Americans publicly choose Christ. What can YOU do? If you feel like God is asking you to do something there are a couple of ways to help. Consider partnering with “On Eagles’ Wings.” But first, Hutchcraft says, we must commit to prayer and consider where our hearts are. He is praying that from this conversation would arise thousands of gatherings of Christians to pray for first Americans. Join a chorus of voices asking God to bring hope where despair reigns. Another thing to consider is whether or not you have been ignoring the plight of Native Americans because of stereotypes or assumptions. Hutchcraft says if you have, asking for God’s forgiveness is a good step. And if there are First Nation individuals in your life, ask them for forgiveness too. Finally, if we have friends, neighbors, or coworkers who are Native Americans, Hutchcraft suggests that you take time to sit down with them—not to talk, but to listen. Ask them about what it’s like to be Native American today—what breaks their heart, hurts them. What do the rest of us need to understand?

Counselor’s Corner Let’s Walk: Wonderful! By Louise Alleva
For the past several months I have been sharing with you some insights on how we can see ourselves as God’s beloved children and learn how to better relate to others in sharing His love. I had another topic all outlined when my husband reminded me that this article would come out in December. He suggested that I may want to focus it on Christmas. I agreed and began praying about the type of counseling article I would write surrounding the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
While praying, I looked up from the blank page on the computer screen and noticed hanging on the note board in front of me a Christmas ornament given to me years ago by a dear friend. On it was written Wonderful Counselor. I realized then the Holy Spirit gave me the inspiration I needed. It would be a counselor writing about The Wonderful Counselor who totally directs her ministry. It is exciting to realize that not only God provided a way for us to spend eternity with Him but His Son
also became the role model to man kind to show us what a child of God is like. This event was so awesome that even the mantle of heaven was opened to mankind long enough for angels to appear in great joy over Emmanuel being born among men. The Hebrew name (Immanuel) means “God with us” which was the foretold name of the Messiah by the prophet Isaiah in the Old Testament. Wonderful Counselor was among the names of Jesus mentioned in Isaiah 9:6. This name reflected His desire to show us how to forgive others and ourselves, to love others unconditionally, to show mercy and not allow ourselves to be affected by the hurt of others as His love for us is perfect, eter-
The Mission

The Mission, it could be right in your own city or you could be called to the nations. I have been called to the nations and the Lord said He would give the Nations as our inheritance. Psalm 2:8 (‘Ask of Me, and I will assuredly give [You] the nations as Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth as Your possession.) These are the events of my recent Evangelistic mission trip to Vietnam. It was awesome for the Lord to take a Doctor, who is a Sister in the Lord,
and born in Saigon, Vietnam, myself and three other Vietnamese pastors on a life changing mission from South to North Vietnam. We ministered to 18 different house churches as well as to everyone else who would say yes to Jesus Christ as their Lord, and to those who would be filled with the baptism of

Many people were healed and delivered from idol worship, demons, witchcraft and curses that came through Buddha and their traditions. We visited a leprosy village where there were many children and a few older men and women
that had the effects of the disease. They were so excited to see us that they followed our SUV from the beginning of the road all the way to the church which was several blocks away. They were all waving and calling out in their own Vietnamese language. What a new and exciting experience it was for me to see such excitement
from those who have almost nothing, but still they glowed with joy and happiness abounding with hunger just to hear the Word of The Lord. We gave out food and gifts to everyone, and candy for the children. Many prayers went out to the people afflicted with leprosy as we laid hands on them while they asked for prayer in their language. The other ministers translated to me what they had need of. We believed that they were healed and cleansed according to The Word. Matthew 10:6-8 6 but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, and cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Next, we visited a men’s rehab with 15 men that were in the dorm. They were delivered from drugs and on fire for The Lord through the ministry of a young man, his wife and 2 children, who had started the rehab only six years ago. His miraculous testimony of the power of God began when he was told they would not be able to have any children. Well, the doctor was wrong and since then, he and his beautiful family have ded-

nal, and complete. The word wonderful in this passage literally means “incomprehensible.” The Messiah, Jesus, will cause us to be “full of wonder.” Today the word wonderful is used in a much lighter tone than the way it is was used in ancient texts. We say things are “wonderful” if they are pleasant, lovely, or the least bit likable. Jesus is wonderful in a way that is almost overwhelming if we think about it as He demonstrated His wonderfulness in various ways when He was on the earth, beginning with His conception in the womb of a virgin (Matthew 1:23). He showed He is the “wonderful” One in His power to heal (Matthew 4:23), His amazing teaching (Mark 1:22), His perfect life (Hebrews 4:15), and His resurrection from the dead (Mark 16:6). Jesus also taught many wonderful things that are different then what we would expect: “Blessed are those icated their lives to minister to families and orphans and operate the rehab. What impressed me about this place were the two buildings they had, three stories high with the upper rooms turned into sanctuaries. This is where they worshipped and held their church meetings. They have to hold all of their meetings in secret. They call it the “underground church” but it truly is an “Upper Room” experience. This was the first of about 18 house churches that we visited that worship in the “Upper Room” where we had praise and worship, prayed for the sick and afflicted and the Lord performed many notable instant miracles at the
who mourn” (Matthew 5:4), “Rejoice and be glad” in persecution (Matthew 5:11–12). “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you” (Luke 6:27). Jesus’ kind of wonderful is awe-inspiring and superior to any other kind, for He is perfect in every way (Matthew5:48). The second part of the Messiah’s title is the word counselor. In ancient Israel, a counselor was described as a wise king. Isaiah uses this word again in 28:29 to describe the LORD: “This also comes from the LORD of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom.” Jesus is a wise counselor. Therefore, we can see Jesus as our Wonderful Counselor. We can trust Him to listen to our problems and guide us in the right direction (Proverbs 3:6). We can be sure He is listening because He told us to pray to Him about our worries (Philippians 4:6; James 1:5). We can be certain He the home churches and witnessed deliverances from demonic oppressions and healing of limbs, which resulted in many receiving Salvation as they proclaimed Jesus Christ of Nazareth their Lord and Savior. One very memorable event happened as we worshipped in an “Upper
has our best interests at heart because He loves us (1 John 4:19). And His love is so wide and deep (and wonderful) that we cannot fully understand it (Romans 5:8). I also prayed for anyone who wants to know this Wonderful Son of God and become part of the true joy of Christmas by receiving Him as not only Emmanuel or Wonderful Counselor but as your personal Lord and Savior. He loved you so much that He came to earth as a baby in a manger and then offered you perfect love and eternal life with His greatest sacrifice, His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave. hands of our fivefold ministry team. This was the beginning of a 2400 mile journey from the South Delta area to the North mountain region. As we travelled, we prayed in every city and every province taking authority over and praying against idol worship. Most of all, for God to impart to them the truth of His Word. The cities displayed their idol worship with huge dragons, and idols of Buddha, Hindu gods and goddesses. We took authority over all of them as we travelled. We visited
Room”. A woman who had been in Hindu worship for 25 years was in the meeting and was not receiving the ministry of the Word, but was moving backwards around the room as we preached the Word. The Lord put a bold word in me to speak to her in a loud voice and she fell down to the floor. After about 20 minutes she stood up and was speaking in tongues, full of the joy of The Lord! This was like a breaking down of a wall of resistance and everyone in the house started coming up for prayer and

going down in the Spirit. When they came up, they were all glorifying God. This church house belonged to a very prominent man who had been crippled by a stroke 2 years earlier. This man could not use his left arm. It was totally limp. His left leg would kick out as he walked. We all prayed for

THE MISSION From Page 9
The ministry that I experienced was amazing to me, because I can’t speak their language, and I couldn’t understand their words. But God gave me utterance as I prayed in the Spirit, the Lord gave me a new tongue, and as we ministered, many confessed Jesus as Lord, received Salvation and were baptized in the Holy Ghost and came up speaking in tongues, full of the Joy of The Lord. We travelled to the Northern Most Province of Vietnam where there are high mountains. We could see the mountains of China. Relatives had been praying many years for a family we visited here. The husband, wife, and the grandmother all received the Lord. They were delivered from their Hindu religion. Another family had their father delivered from alcohol and restored to right relationship with The Lord and his family. We travelled next to the tribal people, a 12 hour trip that was another testimony of the power of God changing lives. Young girls who were tormented with mental conditions were delivered and restored to their families in their right minds. The tribal people lived very simple farming lives in the area that is all
nations, and chose me to be his vessel to take His power and His anointing to the utter most parts of the earth. I thank God also for the miracle supply of making it possible for me to take this Great adventure. I did not have the money to make this trip when I was asked, but the Lord supplied the money miraculously in one week, confirming I was to go. I want to share with you that when you have received the Lord Jesus as your personal Savior, you too are called to the mission field. As I said at the beginning, the mission may be right here in your own city, or you could be called to the nations. Jesus said in Matthew 28:18-20 18 Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”
rocks, large rocks, I mean huge boulders everywhere. They came to Jesus Christ through the ministry of Vietnam Missions and the ministry of Tom and Huong Marks. After they received Jesus they stopped worshipping the rocks and their rocky land suddenly became fertile so they were able to grow all kinds of crops. It was through this miracle of God that they became a witness to all the others in their area. The Lord also had another mission for us as we were there, the ministry of reconciliation. God directed us to speak that everyone who had fought in the war were forgiven. Everyone from both sides, forgiven and reconciled from North to South Vietnam, to America, and reconciled to Israel. The Lord had me take a tallit, or prayer shawl, and we prayed over it then left it with the leader of the main house church of “Vietnam Missions” Time and space keep me from sharing all of the miracles and Salvations that took place as we ministered on this 2400 mile mission from the South to the North and back again. It was a moving time for us, as we marveled at the courage of these believers, and later, several US churches send delegations over to Cuba to visit and encourage their Sister Church. Now Castro, who reigned over the island-nation 90 miles from Florida that was marked by the USbacked Bay of Pigs invasion in 1961 and the Cuban Missile Crisis a year later that brought the world to the brink of nuclear war, has gone. Liquid Church Packing 500,000 Holiday Meals For Underprivileged New Jersey Families
MORRISTOWN, N.J.,/ PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to serve its neighborsin-need at Christmas, Liquid Church, one of New Jersey’s fastest growing Christian churches, has announced it will host the largest Christmas Outreach in church history. On December 3rd, 3,000 volunteers gathered across 7 locations to pack 500,000 meals to be distributed to families in need this holiday season. Designed as a family event, children and parents will be serving side-by-side at the Christmas Outreach, working in an “assembly line fashion” in order to pack thousands of meals in short order. “We feel called to put our faith into action and demonstrate Jesus Christ’s compassion to the hungry and hurting,” said Tim Lucas, lead pastor and founder of Liquid Church. “Hunger is a pervasive problem and more than 1 million New Jersey residents don’t know where their next meal is coming from. That’s 1 in 9 of us, which means this is a
struggle faced by our friends and neighbors. This hits home, and that fueled us to set such an ambitious goal for our 2016 Christmas Outreach.” Liquid Church’s provision of 500,000 meals will more than double the meal-packing achievement from last year, when 240,000 meals were packed in one day. “No one should have to choose between keeping the lights on or putting food on the table, or life-saving medicine and their next meal, but this is the heartbreaking reality for too many people in New Jersey,” added Lucas. “It’s our goal to address those needs in a practical way and with a compassionate heart.” www.LiquidChurch.com/ ChristmasOutreach. +++

By Pastor chuck Kennedy
Having just finished our Christmas Party and Grand Opening of the 9th Street Mission, I was gently reminded by the Holy Spirit how the Church is not a building nor a denominational name or identity, but it is people, for people and about people. The Lord loves people and He is in the people restoration business. Sometimes we get so caught up in so many other things that we lose sight of the commission ‘to go make disciples’. (Matt 28:18-20) As I was on my face before the Lord the morning of the outreach party, He clearly said to me as I asked for souls that I should make disciples rather than just winning a soul. What a revelation that was to me. God is more interested in making a disciple than just someone praying a quick prayer so that I have another notch in my belt as a soul winner. The Scriptures clearly teach in John 17:3 that eternal life is ‘knowing God’, not just a one time prayer.
Now I agree that prayer is the first step and has to be done, I am not belittling that. What I am saying is that it is more than just having someone pray a prayer; it is mentoring, discipling, nurturing, until christ be formed in them. This takes love, patience and perseverance, not just praying and then leaving them to the wolves. I have always considered myself a ‘soul-winner’ and love to evangelize. It is not optional, it is a command. However, we must also be certain there is follow up and assistance in getting the new convert grounded in a Bible believing church where they can hear the Word and be accountable to the leadership there. The Church today has become ‘seeker sensitive’ so much so that they have pushed the moving of the Holy Spirit out of their midst. What I mean is that so many tend to be so concerned they are going to offend someone or lose a member that they withhold the truth and water down the
message of right living, eternal life in heaven or hell, and sanctification. Disciple means disciplined one.
