He even wrote and published a book about the Qur’an.

SOUTH ASIA (ANS -- September 14, 2016) Sapru, 48, was brought up in South Asia and became an atheist and ardent communist. “I never believed in Jesus Christ or the Christian religion,” he says. He drove a taxi to support himself and his wife, Blessey. Most of his friends were alcoholics and he became addicted to alcohol as well. His wife, however, was a strong Christian, a woman of prayer who meditated on the Bible every day — without Sapru’s knowledge. “If I would have seen her praying or reading the Bible, I would not allow it,” he says. Despite her husband’s lost condition, Blessey held on to the promises of God and prayed regularly for his repentance. Once night Sapru got

Christians Met in Dallas Area to Fast, Pray for our Nation
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS (ANS -- Sept. 24, 2016) -- Hundreds of pastors from around the country were joined on Wednesday (Sept. 21, 2016) by thousands of faithful Christians from across the DFW Metroplex at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, to fast and pray for a spiritual solution to national concerns involving race, the family, immigration, government and other issues. According to a news release from Steve Yount from A. Larry Ross Communications (http://alarryross.com/), “The Gathering” solemn assembly drew some 500 national

not here to celebrate a particular candidate, but to celebrate the King of Kings, Jesus Christ.” Earlier in the day, Dr. Tony Evans, event visionary and chairman, said the Bible calls for a solemn assembly like “The Gathering” when God’s people have grown away from Him and want to renew their relationship in order to be more effective in prayer. “Wednesday’s event was the first phase of a threestep process that also includes churches emphasizing discipleship over membership, and mobilizing them in good works to demonstrate the love of Christ in the community so that the Church can speak with moral authori-
So today, I want to focus on how we can be free from the power of any offense no matter what the situation. Following are several steps that will give you victory over being offended: Choices - Here I go again. I am stressing choices. However, the very first decision we must make is to recognize this very crippling emotion as a hindrance in our joyful walk with the Lord. We are depending on people for our well-being and yet our salvation comes from the very Savior who, while dying on the cross for our sins, asked His Father, our God, to forgive His persecutors. Then he chose to die so we would be forgiven and have eternal life with Him. John 3:16. Be quick to forgive – Keep in mind that we are going to have our own failures and desperately need God’s mercy, so be quick to forgive and to be understanding that God might also have mercy on you when you fail (Matthew 6:14-15; Ephesians 4:32; Colossians 3:13). In addition, unforgiveness is sin
Program participants repeatedly stressed the need for the Church to be a greater force for good in our country. Dr. Ronnie Floyd, recent president of the Southern Baptist Convention, noted that America’s cities are in disarray. “I can’t recall a time when there was a greater need for the Church to be the Church; God will judge our land, unless we turn from where we are back to Him,” Floyd said. “Now is the time to see what God can do. When we seek His face, then we will receive His power. God can do more in a moment that you can do in a lifetime.”
Evans went on to say, “Our culture is looking for Washington to fix our problems. But God will not skip over the church house to fix the White House. We must start by getting ourselves right with God. If God is our Anne Graham Lotz, chairproblem, only God is our man of the National Day solution.” “The Gathering” featured many prominent Christian leaders, including Bishop Harry Jackson, chairman of the High Impact Leadership Coalition; Max Lucado, acclaimed preacher and best-selling author; Jonathan Falwell, pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia; Kay Arthur, co-founder of Precept Ministries International; and others.
Anne Graham Lotz with her father, Dr. Billy Graham Day of Prayer Task Force, and daughter of evangelist, Dr. Billy Graham, reminded fellow Christian leaders that the key to revival is repentance, admonishing them to individually repent of personal sins, including busyness, fearfulness, political correct-
ness, immorality, prayerlessness and pridefulness. Dr. Jack Graham, pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church, noted that the Church needs to similarly repent corporately, to overcome problems of division, defection, defilement, disobedience, distraction and defeatism in order to return to being a united community of God. “Right now we are seeing marriage, sexuality and gender redefined, and human life is no longer precious,” said James Robison, founder of LIFE Outreach International. “Wake up, church; focus not on a candidate or party, but the unshakeable Word of God.” Throughout the day, prayer was another common theme and practice. “The best thing we can do for our nation is pray,” Pastor Morris concluded. “God needs us to do our part, which is natural, and His part is supernatural.” The Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, heralded the beginning of a new “Jesus Movement.” “If the devil has already tweeted that ‘God is dead,’ what will happen next will require him to delete his

Were your feelings hurt lately? Maybe you found out that your best friend had a gathering at their home and you were not invited, or someone you have counseled before asked if you could recommend a good counselor. (Guess who that happened to?). Maybe you walked up to a group of folks you know and they acted as if you were not there. The pastor, boss or best friend passed right by you and did not even say hello. I am sure everyone has experienced these and many other situations like these. Would you be hurt, or become offended? If this hurt and offense is not resolved in your heart, bitterness can set in which often leads to feeling rejected and in turn, we reject the offenders. Finally, we either start bitter gossip or bury the hurt with the extreme result of a complete break of relationship. Yes, the situation happened. Most of the time it is just a complete misunderstanding and occasionally someone did actually snub, ignore or not invite you.

and it will take us out of fellowship with God and remove us from the transforming and anointing power of the Spirit. Walk in fellowship – Once you are saved, the number one defense against feeling offended is to walk in a lifestyle of fellowship with other believing Christians. This kind of fellowship will progressively decrease pride, and increase both humility and spiritual maturity. When we identify with Christ in fellowship, we will be less likely to have false expectations of others and more likely to accept whatever comes our way because we depend on Christ’s life flowing through us. Expect the flesh to be the flesh – Once you realize that someone has a good heart, do not change your judgement of them just because they are having a bad day and stepping on your toes! The Spirit Of Truth uffany By Madeline D
Dear Reverend, I was so happy on our recent mission trip where we reached out and spent time in fellowship with other Christians. The experience of being with others in leadership was truly a “mountaintop” event for me! Everyone recognized how I sang so well and was able to minister the Word every day.
Dear Man, I, too, have experienced that time of exultation when we see things from a different perspective and want to remain there.
Mountains, sunrises, and beautiful attractions in life are intended for moments of inspiration. We are made for the valleys and the ordinary things in life. This is where we prove our stamina and strength. It is a spiritual selfishness to desire repeated moments on the mountain all the time. The mountain top is not meant to teach us anything – it is meant to make us something more in these infrequent mountain moments. Let’s enjoy our everyday God-given life as ordinary people, who do extraordinary things for Him in everyday life! (Excerpts quoted from Oswald Chambers.) “Jesus took…them up on a high mountain apart by themselves…” Mark 9:2

I entered the class, the missionary students ran to me and embraced me with love and joy. They surprised me by expressing regret for having caused mental distress on me.” “I was touched by their love, kindness and gentle nature,” which disarmed his evil plan. The Holy Spirit began to convict his heart about sin, righteousness and judgment.
That night he was surprised to discover a piece of paper that someone had inserted in one of his textbooks. On it someone had written a Bible verse: “The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came to the world to save sinners, for whom I am the foremost” (1Tim 1:15). On the reverse side of the paper was written, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom 6:23). Ciniraq didn’t know these were verses from the Bible. As he pondered their meaning, suddenly the Holy Spirit came upon him, causing a remarkable vision. All the sins he had committed since childhood began to appear before him as if on a screen. “I recognized all my iniquities, big and small. Each one of them transformed into a blister on my body. The blisters burst open and became sores. The flesh and bones, from where pus began to flow out, became very hot and began to melt. Worms were competing to get at the marrow of the bones. The pain was unbearable. The stench could not be
described. I was being pulled into a bottomless pit. There was nobody to save me. I cried out, ‘God, save me.’ “Then a man, holy, white and bright, descended from heaven and touched me. I understood it was Jesus. For a moment I closed my eyes with a heavenly joy, for His touch cooled my body and mind. When I opened my eyes all the blisters and sores had disappeared from my body.” In the vision Ciniraj found himself purified as if washed with a perfumed soap, which carried the fragrance of the Rose of Sharon. But at the same time, an incomprehensible change had taken place. Jesus was now infected with the blisters and sores that were once on Ciniraj. “Pus and discharges were flowing out of them. Worms and maggots were roaming freely on his body,” he was shocked to observe. “Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our inequities; upon him was the chastisement that made us whole, and with his stripes we are healed” (Is 53:4-5). Ciniraj had the startling realization that Jesus had taken on himself all his afflictions. “I should have been condemned to death for all my sins. But I saw Christ taking on all my sins and being crucified in my place for my sake,” he says. Before, he never believed
that Jesus was crucified. He didn’t understand how our sins could be washed away by his death, even if he was crucified.

His brothers and sisters are all devout Muslims who have made the pilgrimage to Mecca. “Having let Jesus Christ into my life, I was ex-communicated and for quite some time was not allowed to have any contacts with my parents and the extended family. I and my wife felt sad about it and brought this matter to the Lord in prayers.” Gradually, he began to re-establish links with his family. “Later I was told that just two days before his death, my father accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior because he had had a vision of Jesus with the marks left by the nails and His hands and feet. My mother too became a believer shortly before her death.” “My deep burden is taking the gospel to the unreached, especially to the world of Islam and winning them unto the salvation of Jesus Christ at any cost.” His ministry, Bibles for Mideast, is spreading the Word of God in Asia, Africa and the Middle East by God’s grace, undergirded by prayer.

During the operation, there was a point when Sapru’s heart stopped. “The doctors thought of declaring my death,” he recalls. “But after a few seconds I started breathing. “Thank God; now he is alright,” one of the doctors said. “When Jesus allowed my soul to go back to my body, I started breathing,” he says. Then the Lord’s voice spoke to him again: It is better for you to enter life with one eye, than to have two eyes and be cast into the fiery hell. Let it be a testimony of yours for witnessing about me. “I recovered, but my left eye has been totally removed. I don’t worry about it, because the Lord wants me to be with Him in heaven without an eye. He loved me, so that He did not allow me to go to hell with both eyes. in intercession for Cook, who was still without sleep or medication for 24 hours. A best-selling author and former youth group leader, Cook received such an outpouring of love and prayer from teenagers who had never met him and from adults he’s served as pastor. Following the incident, a 66-year-old male is now in custody after Stephanie Cook shot him in the right leg with a Ruger .22 caliber revolver outside their Philadelphia home and nearby the church. An investigator called the shooting “justifiable” and at the time of writing, the suspect is awaiting formal charges by prosecutors. Before the shooting, Pastor Cook fought the man, who was holding what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun and demanding his wallet. With 12-yearold son Christian Cook at his father’s side, the unidentified black man slammed what turned out to be a modified nail gun, into the back of Pastor Cook’s head. But then, Stephanie Cook fired the gun at her husband’s command after the suspect turned on her. The three had just returned from a Steven Curtis Chapman concert on the eighth-month anniversary of another son’s suicide. Before packing the family vehicle for their weekend trip to Cape Henlopen, a beachfront Delaware state park where the youth retreat was to be held, Cook publicly forgave the suspect and expressed support for the Philadelphia police.
serve a God of forgiveness. Because He is our example, we forgive others when they wrong us, even if they don’t ask for it,” Cook said. “This includes the man who attempted to rob us. He is not beyond salvation. Jesus can change him, just like he changed me. We forgive him and we have no ill will toward him. “However, there are consequences to sin and this man is finding that out now,” said Cook, adding that the suspect, like one of his former youth group members who pulled a gun on the pastor, is welcome to attend his church if and when he’s free. The pastor, who is a popular writer of teen devotionals, said the experience provided him new-found appreciation for both gun ownership and law enforcement in American cities, many of which Cook calls “war zones.” “I want to express appreciation to the brave police officers who did an outstanding job. Sadly, all officers are judged by the actions of a few,” Cook said. More now than ever, Cook says that he can relate to officers who make split-second decisions about peoples’ intentions -- either innocent citizens or potential criminals. “The man who attacked us had a fake gun, but we didn’t know this and were not willing to bet our lives on it,” Cook said of the shooting, which occurred next door to the 90-yearold church where he serves as senior pastor. “My wife shot him. We are alive. We cannot expect officers to act any differently. “I want you all to know we Point a gun, real or fake
you are risking your life,” he said. Carter said he knew that Cook was the person to wake up his “comfortable” youth group; He just didn’t realize that the back of Cook’s head would be his sermon illustration. The teenager was invited back to the group, and later Cook provided a job recommendation for him. Today they are friends. Cook sees spiritual lessons from the recent physical attack, which he shared with the youth and intends to preach to other audiences. In spiritual battle, it’s the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God that the warrior wields effectively against the devil who comes as a roaring lion, he added. “Just like you put Scripture in your heart. You never know when God’s going to bring it to mind, but you’re prepared by storing it up,” Cook said. “Being prepared for battle, alert and on guard are paramount, too. Stephanie Cook is recovering, too, not from a physical wound but an emotional one that, three days later, she admits unexpectedly crept up on her: fear. The couple, who plan to install enhanced security at the church, are reminding themselves that they’ve not received a spirit of fear from God, but a spirit of love, power and a sound mind. PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, First Liberty Institute and Boyden Gray, former White House Counsel for President George H. W. The Oregon couple was fined $135,000 and lost their bakery for running their business according to their religious beliefs. In the brief, the attorneys challenge the Bureau of Labor and Industries argument that the government can compel citizens to create art and engage

They contend that if the court allows the final order against the to stand, the court will be putting a stamp of approval on the idea that the government can force artists to celebrate causes that violate their conscience. “The First Amendment prohibits government compulsion of art and of speech,” Boyden Gray, former ambassador to the European Union and founding partner of Boyden Gray and Associates, says. “We must ensure that freedom of speech and religious expression is preserved for all Americans.”
