EuroHedge Summit 2013 Chris Hohn of The Children’s Investment Fund, Martin Hughes of Toscafund and Taylor O’Malley of Balyasny Asset Management are to be keynote speakers at this year’s EuroHedge Summit, in Paris on 21-23 May. Widely regarded as an iconic figure in the European hedge fund world, Hohn is founder, managing partner and portfolio manager of TCI, a global value-based, fundamental investment manager with a concentrated portfolio that aims to bring a long-term, owner-oriented investing philosophy to the public markets. Hughes is founder of Toscafund, another pioneering player in the European hedge fund world, established in 2000 and now part of Old Oak Group, a large, well capitalised, financial services business. We are pleased to announce this year’s final keynote will be Taylor O’Malley, the co-founding partner and chief risk officer at Balyasny Asset Management. We have a number of new editions to the programme. Panellists will include EuroHedge Awards winners Karsten Schröder of Amplitude, Loïc Fery of Chenevari, Jonathan Lourie of Cheyne and Bruno Usai of Pelagus. Chris Hohn is founder, managing partner and portfolio manager of The Children’s Investment Fund Management (UK) LLP (TCI). TCI is a global value-based, fundamental investment manager with a concentrated portfolio aiming to bring a long-term, owner-oriented investing philosophy to the public markets. Chris is based in London and has more than 20 years of experience in the investment industry and has managed equity portfolios for over 15 years. Chris is also co-founder of The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), a UKbased charity dedicated to improving the lives of children in poverty in developing countries.

Martin Hughes is a financial business entrepreneur. Martin is one of Europe’s longest serving managers of absolute return funds covering the period since 1997. Martin is founder and owner of Old Oak Holdings, a financial services holding company that encompassed a retail fund management business (Cheviot, sold January 2013), private equity (Penta) and an institutional fund management business (Toscafund). Total funds managed in the Old Oak Group as at December 2012 totalled £5.2 billion. Martin founded Toscafund Asset Management LLP in 2000.
