EDITOR’S NOTE
Fashion is superficial. Is it? We heard that a lot of times. People tend to assume someone is shallow because he/she likes fashion. And yes we admit, we may have been one of those people once upon a time. But when you look at History, Fashion is closely interwoven with politics, religion, social standing and economy. It can illustrate culture, indicate membership of a group or demonstrate values and beliefs. It is also a way to express your individuality. With that being said, how can Fashion be anything but relevant? So despite what people may think we decided to pursue our interest. Our first step was enroling at SoFA. We did not know what to expect going into this workshop. (We certainly didn’t expect the assignments, haha!) But everything was a good surprise—all the cramming, walking, running, carrying big bags with clothes. It was a nice reminder of what we should expect once we go out in the real world. We have been very fortunate to learn from such an inspiring and fun mentor, Sir Levenson Rodriguez. It’s true when they say that the teacher plays a big role on the students’ disposition in class. He made sure that while we are learning, we are also having a good time. Our magazine is named “Course.” Course is a close synonym for journey, and we believe that this magazine represents everything we learned from this class and everything we have been through. And even though this workshop has come to a close, we know that this is only the beginning. Our Course is only starting.

CHANEL speaks up for women Karl Lagerfeld staged a feminist protest for Chanel’s S/S 2015 show—an outcry for women’s rights inspired by his mother. Paris’s Grand Palais was transformed into boulevard Chane l with models holding megaphones and poster signs bearing phrases like “Feminism Not Masochism,” “History Is Her Story,” and “Make Fashion Not War!” as Whitney Houston’s “I’m Every Woman” blared. Girl power, indeed.

Harvard Analyses Beyoncé Harvard Business School wonders the same thing as the rest of us: just how does Beyoncé do it?
