Colossians 1:5-6 5because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, 6which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth, The point of sharing the gospel is for it to bear fruit and increase the people who believe it. It is our call as believers in Christ Jesus to be sharing the truth of gospel. This is God’s work that He has set out specifically for believers. Matthew 28:19-20 19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

thursday DeDay 3 It is God’s sovereign plan that we do His work If you had one million dollars what would you do with your life?

Late night Monday Black Light/Rave Night Tuesday Retirement Home Bingo Night

Because of our faith in Jesus Christ we have been given a plan for our lives. Proverbs 16:1-3 1The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. 2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit. 3 Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. Why do OUR plans fail? Proverbs 19:21 21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. This brings us back to Jeremiah 29:11. God’s plan for us is for our good, but it is also primarily for God’s glory. God’s plan, God’s glory, our good.

James 1:17 17Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. What are you gifted with? Why does God choose to gift us? Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Through Christ we are able to complete the work God has set before us. He has given the ability to complete that work.

wednesday Monday Day 2 God gives us the ability to do His work If you could have one super power what would it be? Why do we desire special abilities? Something inside of us desires to have the ability to do things that go beyond us. When we become believers we get just that. The Holy Spirit gives believers gifts that go beyond what they are “good at. These gifts are special, and are meant to be exercised for the work of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 4Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; 6and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. 7To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. Just as you cannot learn a super power you cannot learn a spiritual gift. They can only be given by the Spirit. Hebrews 6:10-12 10God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. 11We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. 12We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

thursday

Isaiah 43:1 1But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.

God has a plan to redeem His people to Himself. He has been active from the time of the Old Testament to now to do so. How does God’s sovereign plan effect you?

In what ways can we trust in God’s sovereignty?

Tuesday DeDay 1: God’’s sovereignty If you could choose any movie to be the story of your life what movie would you choose? Why? How do you feel about knowing the future?

God tells us in Jeremiah 29:11 that He has plans for us. Not just plans, but plans that will give us hope! 11For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. These plans that God has for us have been in the works since before we were even born. He has been working all things together for His sovereign plan, and thankfully He has chosen believers as a part of that plan. Ephesians 1:4-5 4even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,
