November 18, 2013-First Freedom Student Competition 9TH – 12 GRADE STUDENTS Essay Competition This national essay contest offers 9-12 grade students an opportunity to compete for an essay award of $2,500 and a video award of $2,500. Winners will be announced on April 13, 2014. Examine the First Amendment and the history and relevance of religious freedom in America and the world today. DATE:TBA - Telluride Association Full Scholarship – Sophomores Only 10th GRADE STUDENTS Highly motivated 10th grade students may apply for a full scholarship to participate in a Telluride Association Sophomore Seminar (TASS) program from June 23 – August 3, 2014. It is a free, six-week seminar program for 36 exceptionally promising high school students, co-sponsored by Telluride Association, Indiana University and the University of Michigan. 18 students will live in a small residence hall at the host university and participate in an academic seminar led by 2 college professors. The seminars meet for three hours each weekday where students will consider controversial ideas from many perspectives and express their ideas clearly in writing and discussion.
