JANUARY University of Notre Dame- Anbryce Scholars Initiative:

To be eligible for consideration, candidates should be the first in their families to attend college. They must also have demonstrated great promise in the face of challenging socioeconomic circumstances. It is our belief that those who have achieved success in the face of these challenges are uniquely poised to make a difference in the world. Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE)- Freedom in Academia Essay Contest: High school juniors and seniors for the 2014–2015 school year who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible to participate. Students must submit an essay between 800 and 1,000 words on the provided topic – Why is free speech important at our nation’s colleges and universities? Before you begin your essay, watch two short videos about real students who were censored and punished for speech that is protected by the U.S. Constitution, available at: http://www.thefire.org/student-network/essaycontest/#details  One $10,000 first prize, one $5,000 second prize, and three $1,000 runner-up prizes will be awarded for the best essays.  Four $500 winners will be chosen from the remaining entrants in a drawing. Deadline: January 1, 2015

Ithaca College, Roy H. Park School of Communications, Park Scholar Awards: This award covers the full cost of attendance per year and is renewable up to three years. Students must complete an application and write two 300-500 word essays. You will be asked to provide 3 letters of recommendation, activity resume, and HS transcript. Deadline: January 2, 2015


10th Japan Center Essay Competition: Contestants should discuss one or more aspects of Japan including art, culture, tradition, values, philosophy, history, society, politics, business, and technology in relation to their personal experiences, views and/or future goals. GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program: This scholarship program awards roughly 20 college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity and citizenship with $10,000 renewable scholarships – up to $40,000 per recipient. To apply:  Visit the website at www.reaganfoundation.org/ge-scholarship.aspx  Demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive integrity and citizenship at school, at home at the workplace and in the community  Be nominated by a community leader – principal, elected official or executive director of a nonprofit organization  Be recommended by an authority figure – student activity advisor, community service coordinator, coach, teacher, counselor or religious leader  Demonstrate strong academic performance (3.0 GPA or greater)  Demonstrate financial need  Attend an accredited U.S. college or university in the Fall of 2014 Deadline: January 8, 2014 APIASF Scholarship Program: Students who are of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity and will be enrolling as an undergraduate student in a U.S. accredited college or university in Fall 2015 may apply. The award amount is, $2,500 - $15,000. To apply:  Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED  Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)  Submit one letter of recommendation online. The APIASF Scholarship Program application must be completed online and submitted electronically. Deadline: January 9, 2015 Gates Millennium Scholars Program: The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program selects 1,000 talented students each year to receive a good-throughgraduation scholarship to use at any college or university of their choice.  African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American  Citizen/legal permanent resident or national of the U.S.  Have attained a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or earned a GED


 Be enrolling for the first-time at a U.S. accredited college or university as full time, degree-seeking first year student in the Fall of 2014  Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities  Meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria  Have all three required forms (nominee personal information form, nominator form and recommender form completed and submitted by the deadline.  Registration can be completed online at www.gmsp.org. Fairleigh Dickinson University- This is a full-tuition Presidential Scholarship. Presidential Scholarships are annually renewable awards for four-years of study at FDU’s Florham Campus or Metropolitan Campus. Deadline: January 15  SAT, critical reading and math minimum of 1300 out of 1600  ACT minimum of 29 **You must be nominated for this scholarship. Please see your counselor if you are interested.

University of Dayton- Leadership in Service Scholarship: Students interested in this scholarship have a desire for personal development and are committed to service within his or her school, church or community. The scholarship is worth $10,000. *This is a nominated only scholarship. If you are interested, please see your counselor. Deadline: January 15, 2015

University of Michigan-College of Engineering: •

Geisinger Scholarship: This is for out of state students from selected geographic areas  $20,000 per year annual award  Renewable as long as the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and is in enrolled full time in the college of engineering and declares as engineering major. Torch Scholars Program at Northeastern University:

Torch Scholars Program is a bold and innovative initiative that provides students with the opportunity to explore their passions and expand their global horizons. Torch is dedicated to supporting these talented, first-generation college students through an extensive full-scholarship program that includes:  A comprehensive summer immersion program,  Intensive academic planning and assessments,  In-depth peer and professional mentoring,  A wide array of social events that foster group identity and camaraderie. The program is simply unparalleled in its support for first-generation students from diverse backgrounds. SAE International Engineering Scholarships: More than 60 corporate and university sponsored scholarships will be offered to qualified students who are interested in the study of engineering and related sciences. To apply:  Students must use the online application log on to www.sae.org/students/engschlr.htm Deadline: January 15, 2015 Dell Scholars Program: Applicant must be participating in a college readiness program (AP classes) All applicants must have a minimum of a 2.4 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.  Earning a minimum of 2.4 GPA  Demonstrate the need for financial assistance  Plan to enter a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college after graduation  Be a U.S. citizen  Complete the on-line application at www.dellscholars.org which opens on November 1 Deadline: January 15, 2015 Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship Awards: This award is for seniors only that are planning careers in government service. Winners receive an all-expenses paid weekend, including transportation and housing, in Bucks County, PA to attend the Scholarship Awards Ceremony. All winners must attend the program on Saturday April 27, 2014in order to win. The awards range from $500 to $5,000. To apply:  Complete a one-page typed in 12 point type, double spaced and on a single page essay of 300 words or less stating why you are planning a career in government service including any inspiration to be derived from the leadership of George Washington.  Visit the website at www.gwcf.org Deadline: January 15, 2015

Notre Dame of Maryland University - 37th Annual Art Scholarship Competition: Sponsored by the Art Department and open to young women who are juniors and seniors in high school. Prize winners will receive tuition scholarships to Notre Dame that are renewable for up to four years.  First Prize $3,500 tuition scholarship per year, Second Prize $2,500 tuition scholarship per year,Third Prize $2,000 tuition scholarship per year  Up to, but no more than ten (10) entries may be submitted.  All art submitted must be the work of the student. Eligible work includes drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, etc. Students with an interest in Art History may upload a writing sample as a pdf document Deadline: January 16, 2015

Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarship Programs: Beginning October 1, 2014, students may apply online. Graduating high school seniors may only apply for one of the four scholarships. The four types of scholarships available include: • RMHC/Scholars: All students are eligible to apply regardless of race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin. • RMHC/Asia: Applicant must have at least one parent of Asian-Pacific heritage.


RMHC/African-American Future Achievers: Applicant must have at least one parent of African American or Black Caribbean heritage. • RMHC/HACER®: Applicant must have at least one parent of Hispanic/Latino heritage. To be eligible for scholarship, a student must:  Be a high school senior  Be younger than 21 years old  Be eligible to attend a two- or four-year college, university or technical school with a full course of study  Be a legal U.S. resident  Live in a participating RMHC Chapter's geographic area  Submit a complete application and all required documentation by the deadline of the application  Meet any additional eligibility requirements outlined by each scholarship program  Provide verification of enrollment each year at respective accredited post-secondary institution Deadline: January 20, 2015

The Long Island Mathematics Conference Board: The scholarship program will provide four awards of $1,500 for deserving Long Island minority high school students. This scholarship is only for high school seniors.  Applications will be accepted from students who have a cumulative “B” average or better  One-page essay describing interest in pursuing the study of mathematics at college.  Two letters of recommendation. One must be from a Math teacher  Official transcript including SAT or ACT scores and AP test scores where applicable  School official must sign to verify that you qualify for award based on ethnicity  Separate form for Math teacher who has influenced you the most  Students must plan to major in mathematics at an accredited college or university  Candidates should address their love of mathematics in their personal essay and indicate reasons why they should receive the scholarship. Notre Dame of Maryland University - 26th National Drawing and Print Exhibition: Drawings and prints (not photography) in any medium are eligible with no limitations as to color, surface or materials. All drawings and prints must be original works of art. Each artist may submit up to 3 works on online only. No mailed or emailed entries will be accepted. Bethpage Federal Credit Union: Students who want to apply for this scholarship must be a TFCU member with their own account member. An account can be opened for as little as $1. The scholarship will be an award of either $500 or $1000 that will be paid to student and educational institution. Students need:

Scholarships for Walmart associates and their Dependents:

The Walmart Foundation offers scholarship programs that benefit qualified Walmart associates and their high school senior dependents. Walmart Renewal and Walmart Dependents are two scholarships that are offered. February Silas Rhodes Scholarship - The School of Visual Arts First-time freshman and transfer applicants seeking admission to a full-time undergraduate program with a minimum 3.0 GPA are eligible for this award. SVA scholarship decisions are based on a review of applicants’ portfolios and academic records. To be considered for a scholarship, all admissions materials (including a digital portfolio on CD-R or uploaded to sva.slideroom.com) must be postmarked by the appropriate deadline:  Students must have a 3.0 GPA  US citizens and permanent residents are eligible to be considered for scholarship Deadline: February 1, 2015

Ohio State Eminence Scholarship: This is a full four-year scholarship at Ohio State plus a $3,000 enrichment grant for a student with the goal of cultivating intellectually and socially engaged citizens who will commit themselves to solving major problems. It also provides stipends for study abroad opportunities and funds a majority of the travel experiences within the program. Application requirements are as follows:  Acceptance to St. Mary’s University as a declared business major  Minimum SAT score (totaling only critical reading and math) of 1220 or minimum ACT score of 27  High school class rank within the top 10 percent of your graduating class  Cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher  Three letters of recommendation  Resume

Marist-College Technology Scholarships: This scholarship is offered to academically talented students who wish to major in Computer Science or Information Technology and Systems. Herff Jones Believe In You Scholarship and Principals Award: The Herff Jones Believe In You Scholarship is fully administered online. The nomination, advisor or counselor certification and the principal recommendation will all be submitted through a web site. The New York Water Environment Association, Inc.: The New York WEA will be offering a total of six $2,000 scholarships. Buick Achievers Scholarship Program: Applicants to the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program must:  Be a high school senior  Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university based in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the entire 2015-16 academic year. Proprietary and online schools are not eligible.  Plan to major in a course of study that focuses on Engineering/Technology or select Design and Business related programs of study. See the list of eligible majors.  Demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in the automotive or related industries using these areas of study.  Be U.S. citizens and have permanent residence in the United States or Puerto Rico. The 8th Annual Create-A- Greeting Gallery: The winner of the contest will win a $10,000 cash

scholarship and a $1,000 prize for their school. If the winner is enrolled in an educational institution the $10,000 prize will be paid directly to that institution on behalf of the winner and any remainder, will be paid directly to the winner. The winner will be notified by email or mail not later than April 24, 2015. Moody’s Mega Math Challenge: Internet based applied math competition that awards $125,000 in scholarship prizes ranging from $1,000 to $20,000 to teams of high school junior and seniors. Simon Youth Community Scholarship Program: Scholarships in the amount of $1,500, one at each Simon® or Washington Prime property, will be awarded annually and are not renewable. To be eligible, applicants must:  Be a high school senior attending school and living within 50 miles of the Simon® or Washington Prime property associated with the application  Be a legal U.S. resident


Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school in Fall 2015  Demonstrate academic promise and financial need. Applicants will be evaluated based on academic promise, financial need, essay response, work experience and community/extracurricular involvement Scholarships in the amount of $1,500, one at each Simon® or Washington Prime property, will be awarded annually and are not renewable. The American Heritage Scholarship: Two $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to 1 male and 1 female graduating senior. Selection of winners will be based upon an essay by the applicant and three recommendations. The scholarship committee will judge applicants on:  Genuine, personal faith in God  Patriotism  Compassion and concern for others Deadline: February 27, 2015 Dante Foundation of Nassau County: Schools are limited to four (4) submissions, which are determined by the school and submitted through the school guidance office. The award is for $5,000 Deadline: is February 28th.

March Scholarships from Drew University: Civic Engagement Scholarship: This scholarship is offered annually to students who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to community service and civic engagement during their high school years. Applicants should demonstrate leadership in organizing and implementing community projects, as well as working with people from diverse backgrounds. Scholarship recipients are required to join Drew’s Civic Scholars program, which includes participation in special classes, workshops, seminars, and off-campus service projects. The Robert A. and Sandra S. Borns Jewish Studies Program at Indiana University: Eligible Jewish Studies major, certificate, and Hebrew minor students may apply for funding for the 2015-2016 academic year. The scholarships and administrative


internship were established to assist Jewish Studies students with financial need and to recognize outstanding student performance. Candidates will be considered on the basis of a combination of academic and personal achievement, and financial need, if applicable. Preference will be given to applicants with records of both financial need and academic/personal achievement. Students with significant financial need and a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher may also apply. To be eligible for the scholarship and internship students must:  GPA of 3.2  Are either majoring in Jewish Studies or pursuing the Jewish Studies certificate or minor in Hebrew. Simon Youth Greg Saunders Legacy Scholarship Program: Scholarships will be awarded up to $3,000 annually and are renewable. To be eligible, applicants must:  Be a dependent son or daughter of a full-time or part-time employee of Simon Property Group who has been employed for at least one year as of March 5, 2015  Be 23 years old or younger  Be a high school senior or current college student planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school in Fall 2015  Applicants will be evaluated based on academic promise, financial need, letter of recommendation, essay response, work experience and community/extracurricular involvement Deadline: March 5, 2014 Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York, Inc. “Ned Carter” Scholarship: Students must be related to a firefighter, be a firefighter, or be an explorer in a fire department that is a current paid member in good standing of the association of fire districts of the state of New York. Awards for this scholarship will be presented to students who will be pursuing a post-secondary career in the community service related area. Gerard J. Buckenmeyer FASNY Volunteer Scholarship:

Applicants must:  Be a member in good standing with FASNY or have a parent/legal guardian who is a member.  Attend high school as a senior who is enrolled in the fall 2015 school year at an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher learning or an accredited technical postsecondary school.  Serve as a current junior firefighter, Explorer Scout or RAM in a group affiliated with a volunteer department; a volunteer firefighter; or a volunteer with an EMS unit.  Demonstrate a commitment to both volunteer emergency service and to the community. The Junior Welfare League of Huntington – Youth in Philanthropy Award: This award is open to female high school seniors who reside in the Township of Huntington. Applicants should exhibit all that the JWL of Huntington believes in and strives for a sense of community, a giving spirit, compassion and willingness to assist those in need.  2 letters of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor and/or employers  Application available at: http://www.jwlofhuntington.org/ordereze/1077/Page.aspx Deadline: March 16, 2015 You can also see Ms.Darge in the college career center located in the library for an application

April The LI2Day Scholarship: This scholarship is designed to provide a one-time award of $2,500 to a high school senior who resides with a parent or guardian who is a survivor of breast cancer or other women’s cancer, or resided with a parent or guardian who was a victim of breast cancer or other women’s cancer. The award is based on:  Content of application, including school, community and outside activities  Quality and content of personal statement (one page or less)  Letter of recommendation  High School educational effort and definite plans for 2015 Deadline: April 10, 2015 Please see Ms. Darge in the college/career center located in the library for an application

The Maria A. Sciara Scholarship: This scholarship was designed to provide a onetime award of $1,000 to a high school senior who aspires to be a teacher and resides with a parent or guardian who is a survivor of cancer or has resided with a parent or guardian who was a victim of cancer.(other than breast cancer) Criteria includes::  Completed application and personal statement (one page or less)  One letter of recommendation  Copy of official high school transcript  Proof of acceptance in educational program for 2015-2016 academic year Deadline: April 10, 2015 Please see Ms. Darge in the college/career center located in the library

Post Office Locator Scholarship: Applicants are asked to write a 500-1000 word essay about the most interesting item you have ever received in the mail. This can be a letter or postcard, a package or gift, an advertisement, or any other parcel delivered by mail. Explain why this article of mail was so fascinating to you and how it has impacted your life. Deadline: April 15, 2015 If you have any questions, direct them to: m.arcabascio@uspostmail.org

Donald A. Pius Scholarship: The Huntington Youth Bureau Youth Development Research Institute presents the Donald A. Pius Scholarship opportunity for 12th grade students to assist them in their pursuit of a college and or vocational trade education. The award amount is $2,000 and there are five scholarships available. The applicant must be a Town of Huntington resident and recommended by the individual from the school community Deadline: April 20, 2015

May DutchCrafters Amish Heritage Scholarship: To be eligible for this scholarship you must:  Enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited 4-year     

undergraduate institution located in the United States of America. Be a U.S. citizen or maintain legal residency within the United States. Have achieved a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Must have applied for federal financial aid (FAFSA) in 2014. Excluded from consideration are employees and relatives of employees of JMX Brands, the company that owns DutchCrafters.
