Swimming is a sport that is good for people of all ages. It’s fun, easy and an ideal activity that all members of the family can do together. No instruction or activity is planned. The following rules apply: (1) Children may not attend without their own parent; (2) No family or friend substitutions are permitted; (3) A child who is less than 4’6” must be attended by a parent at all times, and (4) Flotation devices are not permitted. Lifeguards are on duty during this program. Saturdays—Beginning Jan. 12th for 18 sessions - ends June 8th Time: 3:00 PM — 4:00 PM Fee: $200.00
ADULT LAP SWIMMING #101 Swimming is an all-around physical conditioning activity. This is for people who would like an opportunity to enhance or maintain their cardio-respiratory and muscular fitness. Showers, dressing areas and lockers are provided. This course follows the progression of the American Red Cross swim levels 1-6. Repeat swimmers pick up where they left off, while new swimmers are tested on the first day for proper placement. The age requirements for this class is at least 5 years old by Dec. 21st. Saturdays—Beginning Jan. 12th for 12 sessions - ends April 20th 3 available times: 12:00 PM - 12:50 PM /1:00 PM - 1:50 PM / 2:00 PM - 2:50 PM Fee: $125.00 before Jan. 5th; $150.00 on or after first day of class
This course if for adults who cannot swim or want to improve their swimming skills. Topics include proper breathing, floating, strokes and water safety. Fridays—Winter Beginning Jan. 11th for 10 sessions - Ends March 15th Spring Beginning April 5th for 10 sessions - Ends June 7th Time: 8:00 PM — 9:00 PM Fee: $100.00
AMERICAN RED CROSS WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR TRAINING #111
SPRINGBOARD DIVING #104 This course will cover the basics of springboard diving: approach, hurdle, take-off, flight and entry. Emphasis will be on proper techniques and form. In addition, all five groups of dives will be taught: Forward, back, reverse, inward and twisting. This spring course will also emphasize competition-level dives and techniques used in competition. Saturdays—Beginning Jan. 12th for 18 sessions - ends June 8th Time: 3 available times: 10 AM - 11 AM / 11 AM - 12 PM / 3 PM - 4 PM Fee: $175.00
If you are at least 16 years old and a proficient swimmer, you can become an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. Learn to teach children and adults about safety, survival and swimming skills; and teach your community about water safety. It is fun and you’ll develop valuable teaching and leadership skills. Please be prepared to bring a check for Course Textbook and Certification Cards to the first class. Due to changes with the ARC, amount is unknown at this time. Thursdays Beginning Jan. 10th for 12 sessions - ends April 4th Time: 7:15 PM - 10:15 PM Fee: $275.00 Location: HHH HS West - Room 103 Make-up Date: TBD Please register early if interested. There will be a minimum enrollment of 8 students. If not reached by January 7th course will be cancelled and a full refund will be given.
AQUAROBICS #105 Aquarobics is a form of rhythmic exercise that supports the body while using water as resistance. Swimming ability is not required. Saturdays - Beginning Jan. 12th for 18 sessions - ends June 8th Times: 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM Fee: $100.00
AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARD #107
BABIES AND PARENT SWIM CLASS
This full course consists of American Red Cross Lifeguard, 1st Aid, & CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. The course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to prevent, recognize, and respond to emergencies in and around pools. Age requirement: 15 years old by the end of the course Maximum number of participants: 10 – Course enrollment is based upon water strength and performance on the prerequisite swim test ONLY. Mandatory Prerequisite Testing and Introductory Class: The prerequisite testing date will be Tuesday, January 29th at 6:30 PM . The course textbook and CPR breathing mask will cost approximately $65 additional. This can be purchased once pre-requisite testing is completed. ARC Certification cards will also be an additional $35 upon completion of this course. Tuesdays – Beginning Jan. 29th for 14 sessions - ends May 14th Time: 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM – You must attend all classes of this course to complete your certification – NO EXCEPTIONS! Fee: $300.00 for HHH residents and $350.00 for non-HHH residents Make-up Date: May 21st

This is a parent-orientation and water-adjustment program. It is designed to familiarize both the parent and the baby with the water and make the baby comfortable in the water. There are many safety techniques that are taught to the baby and the parent. This course is for children ages 6 months to 2 years. Saturdays - Beginning May 4th (6 week session) - ends June 8th Time: 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM Fee: $50.00
PRESCHOOLERS LEARN TO SWIM

This could be a child’s first swimming experience without a parent. Water orientation is taught with emphasis on kicking, arm pull/breath control, back float and water safety skills. The course is for children ages 2 to 5 years. CPR/AED FOR THE PROFESSIONAL RESCUER REVIEW COURSE (ARC Recertification) #109
SWIMMING FOR TRIATHELETES #114 This course is for proficient lap swimmers who would like to increase endurance in a team setting. An emphasis will be made on learning advanced freestyle techniques to prepare for open water competition. Saturdays - Beginning Jan. 12th for 18 sessions - ends June 8th Time: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Maximum enrollment of eight per 1-hour class. Fee: $150.00
This course is suitable for those who have a current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (Lifeguard) certification that requires renewal. During the course , participants will receive a full review of all material. Participants must complete written testing and practical skill scenarios to receive certification. Bring breathing mask, current certifications and $19 cash for the ARC certification cards to the class. One 4-hour class is required for recertification. Wednesday, Jan. 9th or Wednesday, May 22nd or Wednesday, June 19th Time: 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM Fee: $50.00 Location: HHH HS West - Room 103
WATERFRONT LIFEGUARD MODULE (ARC Recertification) #115
LIFEGUARD 1st AID CPR/AED REVIEW COURSE (ARC Recertification) #110
This course is suitable for those who have a current LGT/1st Aid/CRT/AED certification and would like ARC certification to work at a non-surf waterfront/ beach/facility. A prerequisite swim test and validation of the participants current ARC certification will be conducted on the first night of class. During the course, participants will learn skills specific to non-surf beach facilities. Participants must complete written testing and practical skill scenarios to receive certification. Bring your whistle, current certifications, bathing suit, water shoes and $35cash for the ARC certification cards to the first class. Five 3-1/2 hour classes are required for recertification. Dates: June 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th & 28th Time: 6:30 PM - 10:00 PM Fee: $150 Location: HHH HS West - Room 103 and local Town of Huntington Beach (TBD)
