DESCRIPTION Our summer academies provide an opportunity for precollege students to immerse themselves in their chosen discipline for several days or weeks with some of the finest music educators in the country. Our summer adult workshops feature both performance-oriented and teaching-oriented intensive study for college students and adults with world-renowned faculty and guest artists. Workshops range from several days to two weeks in length. One week, non-credit courses for high school students to explore career options in the field of Computer-Aided Drafting & Design. Students love their classes, stay up late, and enjoy trips, picnics, movies, concerts, talent shows, and other events both planned and spontaneous. Most importantly, our summer college alumni report they were better prepared for a successful transition to college. And many students appreciate the opportunity to earn college credit in their academic courses. Credits earned during the three-week summer college program are accepted at Ithaca College and normally transferable to other colleges. Students who attend the one-week session earn a certificate of completion. This APSI is endorsed by the College Board and led by experienced consultant, Margaret Sharkoffmadrid. The fee of $1,950 per participant includes class instruction, College Board workshop materials, 6 nights of accommodation, private tour bus transportation in Rome, daily breakfast, two lunches, welcome cocktail reception, museum entries, guided tours, and guest lectures. AP European History teachers are invited to John Cabot University’s campus in the heart of Rome for a unique AP* Summer Institute in AP European History. This Institute is intended for both new AP teachers looking to implement a successful program in their school and experienced AP teachers eager to gain insight into the redesign of the course. The workshop will create an environment of mutual collaboration among participants and the instructor in order to encourage a dialogue and discussion regarding issues and concerns related to AP European History.

DESCRIPTION By enrolling in the Pre-College Program high school students get a head start on college life by living and learning with other exceptional students from across the country and around the world. Along with their diverse backgrounds and experiences, all share a common interest in exploring the academic and social aspects of college life—discovering what it's like to take courses with college students, to live in a college residence hall, and to meet new people from places near and far. Skidmore is well known not only as a highly selective liberal arts college but also as one with a studio art program that rivals those of the best fine arts colleges. Skidmore's unique curriculum offers students the opportunity to pursue one of three academic tracks: 2 liberal arts courses, two studio art courses, or one of each. In addition to the coursework in the Studio Arts, PreCollege students can also take full advantage of the Summer Studio Art Program, which offers special workshops and hosts visiting artists, gallery talks and more, creating a vibrant community that attracts both serious art students and those engaged in exploration. Smith College Summer Science & Engineering, Young Woman’s Writing Workshop, Discovering Women’s History, Field Studies for Sustainable Futures, College Admission Workshop. For academically talented girls. Students must have a strong record or academic achievement, a high level of motivation and a willingness to explore. This residential camp is designed to give students who are interested in pursuing higher education and careers in STEM fields an opportunity to live on campus in residence halls; be mentored by representatives from the SMU Lyle faculty, students and staff; and participate in panel and group discussions while working on a real world, hands-on design project in SMU's Deason Innovation Gym. This day program is designed for girls and boys entering 7th through 10th grades in Fall 2015. Students will explore disciplines of engineering offered at the Lyle School of Engineering: electrical, mechanical, civil and environmental engineering through hands-on, interactive projects. This camp is for students who have an interest in engineering, but not an expertise. By the end of camp, the students will have a solid foundation on which to build upon and encourage them to engage more actively in their math and science classes upon their return to school.
