Refrigerator Notes In this issue.. Oh, boy! What a summer it has been. Among those of us working here in the page garden, we’ve celebrated a high school graduation and a wedding, managed a couple of vacations to relax and reenergize, and spent time with family and pets. I, for one, always love perusing the school supply aisles. Granted, my son never needed a lot—mostly binders and paper, notebooks, book covers, pens, and pencils. I love all the bright colors and textures. While shopping for him, I occasionally picked up a little something for myself...because, you know, it’s for the office (wink, wink). For your bigs and littles, it’s time for hair cuts, clothes shopping, maybe a new pair of tennis shoes, and just the right backpack, lunch box, and water bottle. Ah...those were the days. Do you have a first-day of school ritual? Do your kiddos still let you walk them to the door, or are they out of the car or off to the bus without a glance back? Oh, that first day of kindergarten was rough. So was the first day of high school. I’m not sure how I’ll be in a couple of weeks after my son moves to college. I anticipate it will be the full range of emotions. In the meantime, let’s all squeeze the last bit of summer out of these coming weeks. Remember to hug your kids. And, most of all, be good to yourself. |
