Take in all that the Springfield Art Museum offers during July and August, from the permanent collection, special exhibits, and always popular Watercolor USA. Explore your creativity in the Family Art Lab & Book Nook, or take the fun home with a free Take-Home Project Bag (while supplies are available). The art museum will close temporarily beginning Sept. 1, 2024, in preparation for a multi-year renovation beginning in 2025. Keep an eye out for updates though, because you never know where Springfield Art Museum will pop up. Admission to the Museum is free. Springfield Ballet is dedicated to advancing the art of ballet through education, performance, outreach, and collaborations. Dancers of all ages and skills levels will find a place with Springfield Ballet beginning with “Dance With Me” (a program for children ages 2 and 3 with a parent) and Creative Movement for ages 3 and 4, through all levels of ballet, and on to adult classes for those with little or no dance experience. Springfield Little Theatre is a volunteer-driven performing arts organization striving to entertain, educate, and involve the community in live theatrical productions and in the preservation of the historic Landers Theatre. The Springfield Little Theatre Education Department has grown from a handful of students into its own facility, with classes, workshops, performance opportunities and arts outreach. SLT will kick off their 90th season this fall with “The Wizard of Oz.” See their ad on page 14.

Springfield Symphony Orchestra is southwest Missouri’s largest regional, professional orchestra and one of the oldest arts organizations in Springfield. Each symphony season includes nine evening concerts, two free community concerts (October and December), and education and outreach programming. Springfield Symphony Orchestra recently unveiled its 90th season concert line up with “Puttin’ on the Ritz” kicking off their season in September.
