Refrigerator Notes

Ladies, we’re not getting any younger. And, as much time and effort as we put into making sure our kids are healthy (check out our fitness guide), we need to give ourselves the same level of attention.

Since the beginning of 2022, three high school classmates of mine have been diagnosed with breast cancer, had surgery, and endured follow-up treatments. We’re in our early 50s, and that just feels a little young to me. But, I know breast cancer isn’t an “old lady” disease.

Depending on the expert advice you read, the recommendation is to begin regular screening at ages 40-45. Talk with your doctor about your cancer risks and determine when you should begin annual screenings in addition to your own self-examinations. And encourage the women in your life to follow suit.

A little piece of news from the Kids Directory Page Garden. This month, we increased our print quantity to 10,000 magazines. That puts us within 1,000 of our pre-pandemic levels. Thank you for being loyal readers each month! Your support means the world to us!

Hug your kids. Be good to yourself. You’ve got this! |
