Refrigerator Notes

Production week around the Kids Directory home office (a.k.a., the page garden) is always hectic. I often find inspiration for this note at odd times. This month’s thoughts came to me as I enjoyed the opening performance of the Springfield Symphony’s 2018-19 season. Classical music is near and dear to my heart–just ask my parents who paid untold sums of money for piano and flute lessons and were subjected to endless hours of my practicing. When I purchased Kids Directory last year, I continued Kathy’s long-time dedication to supporting the visual and performing arts in Springfield. I believe our community is better because we have vibrant arts organizations. It’s very rewarding to know Kids Directory contributes in meaningful ways to bring the arts to families. In most every issue during the year, you’ll see ads for Springfield’s performing arts groups. We often have tickets to give away on our Facebook Win-It Wednesday promotions. And, this is my personal invitation to you and your family to join Kids Dirctory for “Spooky Symphony,” the free Halloween performance by the Springfield Symphony on Monday, Oct. 29, at Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. You will find all the details in their ad on page 25.
