New Zealand native Andrew Adamson started his career as a computer animator and joined Pacific Data Images (PDI) in 1991. PDI would merge with Dreamworks SKG and the SHREK series would set his career on a new path. Directing mega-hits SHREK and SHREK 2 gave him enough credentials to migrate over to live action film directing, steering THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA series by writing, producing and directing the first two films. After being won over by Lloyd Jones' novel 'Mister Pip', he began chasing the film rights, quickly joining forces with producer Robin Scholes. MR. PIP is set during the 1990s civil war on Bougainville Island, in Papua
New Guinea — where Adamson lived as a teenager.

It quickly became apparent that the election would determine the fate of rail, which most environmentalists in Hawaii steadfastly oppose. It was a moment of truth. A hot button topic, this film will surely spark controversy in the ongoing debate of Honolulu’s future.
Stan Brock was inspired to organize volunteer popup clinics in remote regions of the world, an effort he called Remote Area Medical. Volunteer doctors, nurses and support workers collaborated to deliver basic medical, dental and eye care to hundreds who would otherwise have none. That was three decades ago. Little did he know that today 60 percent of his organization's efforts would focus, not on faraway locales, but on his adopted country, the United States of America.

The lines for each film may be the first thing you see when you come to an event (especially if there’s a mob). The crowd is separated into nine (or so) lines, right outside the theater lobby.
Will Call: If you've placed an order for your tickets and purchased them over the phone, you will have received a confirmation from us your ticket orders will be waiting for you at the box office.

Print over the Internet: For the ultimate in convenience, you can buy your tickets online and print them from home. These tickets (you'll recognize them by the bar code and film title) are valid for admission to the theater.
The Regal Dole Cannery Stadium 18 serves as the main hub of the Hawaii International Film Festival. Most screenings will take place there with some other screenings, workshops and events taking place at satellite venues. Here is a list of all the HIFF venues this year:

Understanding the lines is critical to navigating HIFF. Three movies line up at a time. For each movie, there are three lines (3 movies x 3 lines = 9 lines). Each line will indicate which movie is queuing up and which ticket type should be standing in that line. (Check your ticket type carefully).
