PATH Intl. TRI Therapeutic Riding Instructor Process at High Hopes For those who started their certification process before October 31, 2019 certification opportunities under the PATH Intl. TRI process will be held through December 2020. You can do any of the following: 1. High Hopes 16-Day Approved Training Course January 2020 or September 2020 2. Or PATH Intl. Onsite Workshop & Certification November 2019 or June 2020 3. PATH Intl. Registered & Advanced Instructor Certification & Re-Certification To suit your schedule - On Demand As one of the leading therapeutic riding centers in the country, High Hopes has the capacity and the expertise to offer certification at a time, and in a way, to suit your schedule and unique needs with Certification on Demand.

PATH Intl. CTRI - Certified Thera Start Dates: January 2020 and September 2020 Become a PATH Intl. certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. High Hopes’ Approved Training Course is taught to both Registered and Advanced Instructor levels, and provides a comprehensive experience to immerse yourself in the knowledge and skills needed to become a CTRI, emphasizing mentorship in ALL areas of therapeutic riding and horsemanship.

Your course will include: • • • •

16 days of interactive lectures (see workshop offerings on the next page). 100 hours of practicum. 25 hours of mentored teaching. Experience with specialty programs including Carriage Driving and Equine Assisted Learning.

At our beautiful, 120-acre training facility in Connecticut we serve over 240 participants each week. You will interact with our experienced team of 30 full- and part-time staff. The schedule for practicum hours is individually arranged, taking into account each candidate’s needs and interests.

High Hopes Pre-Requisites for Candidates: • • • • • •

Be at least 21 years of age. Hold current PATH Intl. Membership. Be certified in child and adult CPR & First Aid. Have knowledge of basic stable management and horse care. Be able to ride at an advanced beginner level or higher (walk, trot, canter, leads, diagonals and simple riding patterns). Prior experience of riding instruction or volunteer experience in a therapeutic riding program are strongly encouraged.
