Take Note

Parents’ Auxiliary needs you for next year! We especially need two Chairs for Spring Fling for next year and a few chair-elect positions. If you are interested in chairing or co-chairing a committee (found in your handbook on pages 4144), please contact Jenny Walker (click on her name to email her or call her at 879-8727). Thank you! Have you ordered your Barons Tickets yet? Today (Monday, April 20) is the last day to place your order. All tickets are $5 a person. Highlands Night at the Barons is this Friday, April 24th. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Dear Parents, Last Friday I had the “day off” while James and William Dixon took charge as the “Heads for the Day.” They started the day with a canned food drive at carpool collecting 259 cans for Grace Food Pantry in Woodlawn. Thank you all for helping others during this fun day. The teachers were thrilled to have been given two jeans days last week as well as the opportunity to answer trivia questions with James on Friday for prizes. Students arrived in costumes on Friday and paraded across the stage during Community Meeting for a grade level costume contest. Congratulations to the preschool students for winning! The boys visited each classroom and enjoyed telling the teachers, “You have worked so hard this week. Why don’t you take tomorrow off?” They treated their own grades – kindergarten and second grade – to a pizza picnic on the quad. At the end of the day, all the students gathered on the quad for a friendly tug-of-war competition. I wish I had the power to place the giggles, energy, sunshine, smiles, and cheering in Mason jars for you to enjoy. You would take it out on those mornings when the left shoe is missing or when the milk spills, and you would smile knowing that once the left shoe is found, and the milk is wiped, your children will be in for another fabulous day. Enjoy the week!
