Please join me in welcoming Han Zhuo ("Amy Han") to Highlands School! Mrs. Han is a native of Beijing. She completed her undergraduate education at Capital Normal University with a major in English Education.

Save the Date! Friday, April 24 Highlands School Third Annual Night at the Barons! Tickets are $5 a person The first 1,000 kids through the gates will receive a Barons Batting Helmet - just like the players wear! The ticket order form is on page 4! Orders are due by Monday, April 20!

She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language at Beijing Normal University. She also has five years of experience teaching English at Beijing No. 5 Middle School. She is devoted to her students, diligent in her work, and caring. Grandparents and Special Friends Day 2009 On Friday, April 3, Highlands School welcomed approximately 340 Grandparents and Special Friends to campus for the 16th annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day. This year a new schedule was followed which allowed the Grandparents and Special Friends of the Fifth through Eighth Grade students to hear special presentations in the students classrooms while the Preschool through Fourth Grade Grandparents and Special Friends were entertained in the Spencer Center Auditorium with a traditional musical program, coordinated and directed by Forrest Ann Cahoon.

Attention Parents! EDP Care Provided! Dear Parents: As you probably know, there is a noon dismissal on April 10 th. For noon dismissal, Lunch is NOT included If you are signed up for Professional Day EDP, your child may stay in EDP at no additional charge (Late Departure packages do not apply) Drop-ins will be permitted for a charge of $10 until 3PM and $20 until 6PM with a 48-hour written notice. There will be no EDP activities! LUNCH IS NOT INCLUDED! (No hot lunches are served.) Please have your child bring his/her own lunch. We do not have extra food to give out. Thanks so much! Please read the information carefully and send in your order along with a check made payable to the Parents' Auxiliary no later than Friday April 17. Highlands School Family Night With the Birmingham Barons Catch Great Baseball Action! Friday, April 24, 2009 Gates open @ 5:50 p.m. Game begins @ 7:05 p.m. The Birmingham Barons have reserved a block of tickets for our students, faculty and family members. We can all sit together at the game, be welcomed over the PA system and students in attendance will be able to sing the National Anthem at the beginning of the game. Our discounted general admission tickets are only $5.00 each! This night will be Batting Helmet Night. The first 1,000 kids into the ballpark receive a Barons batting helmet just like the players wear! And make your plans to stick around after the game to enjoy the Friday Night Fireworks Spectacular! Please return the order form below along with cash or checks made payable to: Highlands School. All ticket orders must be turned in by Monday, April 20th. You will be able to pick up your tickets at the WILL CALL Window at Regions Park. There are a limited number of tickets available! Orders will be handled on a first come, first served basis. Tickets must be ordered in advance to receive the discount. See you at the game!
